must be to combat the b-15 reissue ampeg have done.

only did a half day yesterday due to gigging in the evening but got a fair bit done, radiused the fretboard put in the markers and generally sanded down the top and fret board to make it ready for gluing together etc. and @ spoombung mr shuker is a great teacher he generally shows you what to do and lets you get on with it but he'll check up on you and will help you rescue it if you make a mistake
I guess you're after something like this Viva Analog supply the PCB & build instructions fo $55 & the pedal for £285 Here's a link to a better schematic for the fuzz Freestompboxes Forum - Acoustic 360 Fuzz Shouldn't be a particularly difficult build for anyone who does pedals.
looks great, should be a simple build only problem is sourcing the original trannys, you could always go with modern ones but it may not nail the original sound

currently building a pair of fearful 15/6's, so i'll post back when i've got them done and tried them out!
I have wizard 84's in mine they sound really 70's.
+1 i love the 64's in my squire jazz. I also stuck a new neck and a badass II on my squire

it's quite expensive and rough pricing is on the site, mr shuker allocates a certain budget for parts, if you go over or want more expensive parts then it'll obviously cost you a bit more.

I've been doing the shuker course today and yesterday and i thought i'd post up a few pictures as some of you may be intrested in seeing my progress with it. Bass wise i've decided to make an sg style neckthrough bass with a 34" scale length and a pair of darkstars. It will be finished in a transulcent red and have a maple neck / body with a padouk finger board! unfortunatly missing some pictures as they are on the camara and i cba to sort that out just yet. body/fretboard all glued together ready for routing and finger board to be glued on Finger board all cut etc, is a great looking / smelling wood both together truss routed body with the wings to get a rough idea of what it'll look like when done neck with fretboard clamped on one of the wings glued up with the top and binding More to come tommorow when i should hopefully get it all to the stage where it'll be ready for sanding!
I'm building a few pedals next week, I'll try and put a step by step build diary up if it helps anyone thinking of trying a DIY build for the first time. As for soldering, buy some stripboard, wire, solder and a cheap iron and practice. There's plenty of guides online and it's a useful skill to have.
what pedals are you making? if you need any help just hit us up on here dude -
Not in the slightest - efficient, reliable SS circuits can sound however you want them to sound now. Without the maintenance or fragility of valves. You can't wind an SVT4 up to proper valve drive levels in a pub gig, and if you are recording in a modern studio the engineer will (at minimum) be taking a clean DI feed to run it through his favourite software later on. If every venue and rehearsal place in the country had a PA up to the job then I'd be happy with a good DI box and a pedal or 2, and keep a Bass Cube 30 in the house for practice. People moan about software and SS not being able to get anywhere near valve dynamics etc, but as Fractal have proven with the AX-FX Ultra it can be done. If they get round to doing a bass unit then I'm having one.
valves aren't fragile and don't require any more maintenance than solid state stuff. You couldn't crank a solid state amp to proper power distortion levels either. Valves are a different sound to solid state devices. You can't dismiss them as useless because you personally don't like the sound of them. My most useless feature also has to be one knob compressors, and the octave feature on ashdown amps that didn't track very well at all unless you had dub tones going on.
Valves.
ooer, trolling are we! Don't get why people bang on about weight so much if your so bothered just spend your money on a nice DI instead of an amp.

was hoping for some else in this thread

think alot of his sound was cranked superbasses and technique, personally i'd go for a tube screamer clone with a clean blend to get his sound
-
my understanding was a resonant cab was a bad one, you essentially want it to not to resonate at all as it will effect the frequency response and effect the drivers in bad ways
I have a Hiwatt 200, its about 5 years old and ace. Partridge transformer, point to point and a load of KT88's. As has already been mentioned Music Ground own the name now. I believe (but could be wrong) that many of these amps are made by Matamp for Music Ground. These amps are not the same as the Chinese Maxwatt which are totally different. Hope this helps.
definatly not made at matamp as far as i know, there is a conection there though
That's my understanding too, hand made in fairly small factory in the UK to as near original specs as modern components availability will allow, plus any 'improvements' they may have made. Not so the MaxWatt tranny range which, I believe, is made Eastwards. Can someone explain what actual difference the transformer manufacturer will make? One of my hankerings is their 400W bass amp.
generally quality effects level of distortion and frequency response, proper partridge are normally 3Hz - 30k at like 0.1%thd or something stupid. What that means is they don't colour the sound at all and make for very clean lows and proper full harmonic content
Is that an ok way of holding it then? It's costing me £65, I wouldn't call it top dollar
not bad, would be better if it was a properly bias'd germanium one though! give it a punt but keep in mind it'll be a hard resale personally i'd spend the extra dollar and get a proper one, they look absolutely mint! -
I'm possibly buying this pedal from a guy that makes them, it's a clone from a Colorsound Bass Fuzz with true bypass and accepting standard power supply (this one is modded for extra volume but mine won't be so it won't have the extra PCB), it sounds amazing but I'd like to have your advice (of people who are knowledgeable of this electronics stuff)... How professional/amateurish is it? Will it crap out on me? Any components so bad it's worth paying more to have better? How much would you say this is worth as it is? Many thanks.
okay parts, okay wiring, i wouldn't worry about it crapping out. in regards to other posts, perfboard is raised up off the case and help in place by foam pads, you can see them sticking through -
why did he go for a more resonant cab? from what i know thats a worse thing!
my reissue has partridge transformers, and is point to point hand wired in the uk i beleive
They're made in uk but they aren't partridge transformers they havn't been made for quite a few years unfortunatly. Quite a few people claim to have the right and be making them to the original specs but i'm unsure to which has the actual rights to the name. Not a huge fan of the biacrown amps either.
