A brave post in relation to 'lightweight cab wanted'
thought it was worth a punt ;(
Yeah I think the new thing is always PM if you have got a problem with a listing, don't post in the thread. You can't say he hasn't got a point though, these are far from rare, and probably not quality either, but hey, you are only asking for a few quid, so in those terms they are probably fine for the money. In fact I bet the passive volume pedal is perfectly good.
sorry, will use pm next time.
I'd disagree myself.... especially in todays financial climate. Ollie B was selling a mint one with flightcase for less than that (about £1.3K) and couldn't shift it - in fact he still hasn't after many many months. Personally I think for it to sell it'd have to be around £900 - £1K. Probably not what it is worth - but then again it's only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. A start price of £1.5K may put a lot of people off and for that price they may expect better condition and a flightcase? For instance £1.5K + £195 for a new flightcase = £1.695K.... very nearly the price of a new one at £2039 which includes the case.... Just an opinion as asked for above! Good luck with the sale though and I hope it sells for what you'd like Jimmi.
read the forum rules please. 5. If you believe the price of the item is too cheap/expensive, then please PM the seller as to why. Do not ridicule or undermine the seller by posting how much you think it's worth or how much it can be gotten for elsewhere, the laws of supply and demand will determine if the item sells at that price.

opinions on playing ashdown through markbass cabs
umph replied to gingerfish's topic in Amps and Cabs
electro music is the one your thinking of. People don't seem to impressed on the whole with markbass cabs, they do light very well but they don't do tone. -
Cheers lozbass! I actually take a lot of the stuff on Talkbass with a pinch of salt, not that their opinions aren't worth it but that I've found in the past some members to be pretty single-minded about gear, notably Eden stuff, which I happen to love. Having said that the site remains a cool resource which I often use. The Epi was just an idea, I was looking to lightweight solutions. Anyone run the DB750 with a Bergantino cab at all?
+1 i've seen alot of threads involving people complaining about how scooped a cab sounds, then someone further down the page saying how mid rangey it sounds.

"For the average to advance bass player"
umph replied to JMT3781's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
are most of the strings the same guage? -
roost never had partridge transformers, they had some wound to the same specs but they wern't partridge. I don't like the look of this head though, the badge, front and back panels don't look like there the original ones. I'd wanna see if any big mods have been made to the internals before i paid good money for it.

This is a hondo II les paul guitar, i've set it up properly etc and it plays very nice. I've upgraded the pick ups with a pair of iron gear rolling mills pick ups and it has a coil tap on both pick ups. it's in pretty good nick with only a few nicks and two of the knobs need securing back on properly. looking for 100 for this
Bet it quotes really low THD though.
yeah reason most people can't tell the difference between clean valve and SS.
Yeah, you know that thing when he says his rack controls the temperature of the sun isn't real, right?
yeah been a long time since i listened to dream theatre but i thought he rocked the whole lol check my trebs lead tone like yngwie etc
Think you have to clip it to get harmonics. Not really an option with 650w.
No, THD is total harmonic distortion as in the amount of harmonics produced in the clean signal, clipping it does produce alot more harmonics though. I think the guy was saying that it'd be percieved as loud as a 2000watt SS amp, i've got no quips there cos that head would be fooking loud!
about 5.25 in ..... Power My gobs still open ... Gary v8
Google 1000watt valve amp.
The idea for this came after listening to iron maiden, I want my bass sound to be like John Petrucci's guitar sound that big! (i know he double tracks, and live uses a modded delay pedal set to like 0.1 seconds or something crazy like that) Also i realise sound clips would help you guys but i have no way of getting you any
thin and fizzley? Get a big valve amp, play hard and play loud and rock some decent cabs.
