Build your own...

it's definatly worth the effort, its a bit addictive once you start though. I'd recomend you start off with a kit from GGG or BYOC.

    My Shuker build
When i hold down the button, it'll output noise - it has photoresistors attached and the brighter the light that shines into them; the higher the pitch.
bad idea on stages. would be better just controlling it with a knob also oscillators tend to have alot of problems with signal bleed.
  5.
Ok...not sure if this is the right forum, seemed most appropriate here. I'm about to make an order from http://www.pedalpartsplus.com/ for a bunch of parts I need and was wondering if there was anything you folks want. The reason I ask is that shipping is quite expensive so thought it would be a good idea if there were others wanting things. i.e. you make a contribution towards the total shipping. There's ROHS compliant 3PDT switches for $4 (£2.50) and loads of drilled/painted enclosures. Anyone interested? Have a look around, I will be probably be ordering tomorrow. PM me if there's anything you want and we can work it out. AJ
i normally order from them, they take an age though and seem to always mark the value of their components as way higher than they actually are just so you get hit by customs charges!
  6. beck sold mesa on ebay, http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...=STRK:MESELX:IT
  7. +1 on the muff suggestions, personally i'd stay clear of tonebender and rat type circuits if i was going for a big lowdown fuzz type sound.
  8. fs i just bought a similar delay for more than this
  9. as long as its marked for under 50pounds you should be okay

    Matamp GT200
Yeah and after they invented the first Orange amps anyway, Green is a logical choice for the other side of things ie Bass
white amps came before the green ones ;o the green amps didn't start till the early 90s.
  11. it's a hammond one isn't it? i'm not sure if these ones are as long http://www.pedalpartsplus.com/mm5/merchant...gory_Code=ENC14 nice job on the wiring by the way! I normally just make sure the switches i get are ROHS and have been tested and avoid cheap chinese ones like the plague

    Matamp GT200
I don't know the answer to the above questions, but I'll take a stab. I THINK the gt200 and bass 200 are the same thing. I know you can get gt120's and 100's for geetar, but I've never seen a gt200 marketed for guitars. As for the whole green thing, I think it was some guy from Fleetwood Mac (Peter Green???) and they've just kept that green thing running. Again, all of this could be lies...but that was how I understood things.
nah your spot on, and the guy who helped jeff start up again was called dave green think that was just a coincidence though.

    mosfet

i've always considered mosfets better than the standard bjt's because of their valve like qualitys
  14.
there are alot of cheap versions of these about witch crap switches and jacks and poorly made boxes. this is hand made, powdercoated and assembled using the best possible switches and components. i made it for my dissertation i was'nt going to make it out of sh*t.
switches don't really get much better after you spend about 3pounds on them and jacks about a quid obviously you still get the ocasional duff one but i'd like to see these components you've used to justify this cost.

    Matamp GT200
No it's a resistor grid so limits the signal going to the preamp or from the preamp
right so it is similar to the original gt style controls if i'm understanding you right, thats good to know!
  16.
£220 or make me an offer this is the cheapest True bypass pedal around for the amount of switches i done a whole dissertation on this so any questions give me an email thanks rob
by cheapest do you mean most expensive?
  17. mesa 400+ or matamp i wouldn't normally go for a newer svt but i guess the av would be the lesser of two evils.
  18.
I am fighting the temptation to send him a message saying "HOW MUCH SHIP TO ESTONIA THX". Jon.
haha ship? only hand delivery will do for these.

    LOOPER/BLEND PEDAL

are you handy with a soldering iron? i'm thinking of doing a DIY thread for a blend pedal, they're extremely simple!
  20.
It's definitely not a Rat clone -- only similarity is the use of an op-amp for clipping. EDIT: SOLD
rat doesn't use an opamp for clipping.
  21.
The weight of the 212 is quoted as 22kg, that's about half of the 4x10 I'm used to carting about so no biggie To be honest, with most cabs I find it's the shape rather than the weight that makes it easy or hard to cart around. Hmm... will have to see if I can find somewhere to try 'em
yeah thats for something with the output of a 1X10 though volume wise.
  22. they go deep but weigh a tonne and aren't that loud. There are more practical designs out there if you want deep and small or small and loud
  23. bass and black metal?
  24. redid the leaddress in my kt88 amp and i've done another one so heres some pictures! i'm picking up the enclosures for these very soon, really can't wait to have them done, going to look very cool! also thanks for the nice words i still need to work on my lead dress but i think it's getting better with every build. I'm still working on the smaller amp and my next big project is going to be a 600watter amp!
  25. ey up, i'm with silent fly on this one the 51p isn't the cap you want to be increasing its the .047 in the negative feedback you want to be increasing to increase the frequency gain below the normal range! changing the normal diodes for germanium or LEDS will have a pretty big effect on the sound aswell - germ more compressed and fuzz / leds more open and overdrivey sounding.
