if you think that dude, id just stick to cranking your ampeg
as apposed to raping peoples ears with high end fizzle? to me it just seems like you like bad tone i'm sorry but thats the impression i get.
Here are a couple of samples recorded with the American Deep amp sim (basically, an SVT sound) setting in Logic Pro and an MIA Jazz Bass Deluxe with everything neutral except slight emphasis on neck pickup: 1 file played with fingers, Gain and Mix at around 1 or 2 o'clock, Tone and Level at 12. The other file played with pick, Gain and Tone at around 10 o'clock, Mix and Level at 12. 1st part of recording clean, 2nd part distortion and 3rd w/Boost.
i like, nice playing ;<
Thanks for the info. The Blowtorch does look pretty hardcore aswell hehe.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JDn45pM38xk this is the clip i think half the reason it sounds so bad is his normal tone is so scooped and has so much high end going on as it is, i wouldn't have high hopes for that pedal anyway, i don't think a blow torch is going to do an od/distortion sound as good as some other pedals will either
Btw, I think it might be on more places in the song he uses it if not the entire song! you can hear this around 3:27 as well
it isn't an effect its just the amp hes using
Hi I'm after examples of the sounds the ODB-3 is capable of making, looking around at different pedals the favourite is currently the EHX Bass Big Muff, but considering the price and it's seemingly love or hate status on here. I'd actually like to hear some proper examples of non modified versions. There's gotta be a fair few around I just don't seem to be able to find them, so anyway help would be great!
go with the bass big muff, you'll thank yourself later

sansamp would prolly get you close but it just sounds like generic ampeg tone, so get tubes and play loud!

pictures to come soon, looking for offers on the colorsound its in pretty mint condition i just don't need 2 octavers £50 for the red eye - its a 3 knob version with gain always cranked clips can be heard on www.myspace.com/eyepedals and £50 for the red onion looper this has never been used since i never got round to setting up a proper pedal board
Possibly, or I could be talking out of me arse. I'm pretty sure that the effects loop is buffered though, and in bypass mode it is actually a true bypass? I haven't really read up on it huge amounts!
blend loops have to be buffered to avoid it just feeding back

check out the ocular phantasm on www.myspace.com/eyepedals might be what your after can stick it in a wah enclosure to.
That was another option buy both the 2x15's and get IEM but it seemed excessive
would you even be able to hear the IEM with the matamps cranked?
Hi, Our rep in the USA (a bass player) has requested a bass version of our "Fuzzy Feeling" Ge transistor fuzz. So here it is with the design mods for an improved low frequency response. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/DHA-Fuzzy-Feeling-Ba...1QQcmdZViewItem It is available from us in the UK as of today. Dave
should do an npn one ;< is it based on an mkII to?
Id say, Yes.
tube power amp distortion > solid state, solid state distortion sounds like balls
Yeah I did but it's not loud enough for me, well it might be with 2 2x15's but the Mesa is just way louder and way cleaner for longer that's not to say I won't be buying one.
not loud enough? do your band play jet engines?

i don't think any boss pedals are true bypass, alot of the cheaper ones have terrible buffered bypasses
but was informed by your own bassmankev that the mods suck most of the low end out (this has now been confirmed by the guy who did the mods). Cheers
if it still sounds good to you and sits well in your band mix don't worry about it! it's all about what sounds good to you not what someone else tells you sounds good, that is unless you have really bad taste.
