6.
Well guys out of all the pedals you've mentioned the ones I've tried and didn't like are the Boss ODB-3 and also the MXR M-80 (which is up for sale on the forum if you are interested). I've never had a chance to try the Cream Pie or the TC Electronic Vintage Bass Distortion, they seem ok but a bit unsure about the cream Pie since it's a guitar pedal and seems to loose some bottom end. I mentioned the Muffs because I found this clip and I like the sound of the English Muff'n, listen: http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/4/9/968020/english.mp3 How would you compare the English to the Russian Muff? People seem to favour the Russian over the rest of the Muff family but I've never play any of the muffs.
the cream pie doesn't lose lowend at all it just makes your sound like your overdriving a tube amp even if you play it through transistor amps

    Moogerfooger

depends what you want it for aparently the bass murf is the only really unique one
  8. aye or just use a boost pedal
  9.
It won't get much quieter with only one speaker running, as the other will work as a passive radiator (an untuned one, which will play havoc with your sound)). The difference between having one or two drivers operating into a fixed volume will be massive in terms frequency response, unless you're going to seal each driver into its own chamber, in which case just build a pair of 1x15s anyway! Andy
ahh thanks for the advice guys! i should really have done some more research ;<
  10.
The OmniTop 15 can be built as a 2x15 - the details are part of that set of plans. P.
oh snap thanks!
  11. Been thinking about building my own cab was wondering how hard it is and such forth? Was thinking of going for a 2X15 that i'd be able to wire in stereo so would be able to choose between using one speaker for home or two for louder gigs etc. does anyone know anywhere i could find good plans for effiecent cab designs like the bfm ones? I had a look and don't think he does 2X15s ;<
  12.
Sound guys that stick a mic in the bass drum and an overhead over the kit then mix it up with the vocals and put it all through a pair of graphic equalisers, a puny power amp and a pair of 'full-range' speakers on poles. For a pub gig. Bands that insist that the sound guy sticks a mic in the bass drum and an overhead over the kit then mix it up with the vocals and put it all through a pair of graphic equalisers, a puny power amp and a pair of 'full-range' speakers on poles. For a pub gig.
dunno sound man did this last night he got a truely awesome sound
  13. its either that or some multi fx?
  14. buy my 2X10 for sale in the for sale section plenty loud for 400+ people gigs pretty light and small to, i'll do it for a bit cheaper than in the for sale section to since it'll be your first cab ;<
  15.
That's not weird at all for equipment of that age. It was made at a time when the standard speaker impedance was 15-ohms and 1, 2 or 4 of them gives you those numbers. Because of the way valve amps work the speaker impedance has a direct effect on the circuitry of the output stage and it is important that the speakers match the tranformer tap as near as possible. A 4-ohm cab will work fine on the 3.75-ohm tap, likewise an 8-ohm will work with the 7.5-ohm. 2.4-ohms is a no-no. Unlike solid-state amps however a valve amp will deliver its full output into whatever speakers you have connected as long as the output transformer tap is set correctly.
ahh thanks for the info and i guess i should invest in a decent speaker lead to to play it safe?
  16. thinking of getting one of these was wondering if it'd be any good on bass? just looking for something that would be loud and have that valve warmth. also the seller says the speaker impedences are 3.75, 7.5 and 15ohms this seems a bit wierd would it be fine to use a 4ohm cab with it on the 3.75 ohm setting and i guess using 2 4 ohm cabs would be out of the question?
  17.
I've had expensive things sneak through, and cheap things get hit. There's no hard and fast rule as far as I can tell, despite what people have said to me. Just depends how lucky you are I think.
aye i didn't get owt on my wren and cuff but i did on the kits, got hit for quite alot i don't understand customs sometimes ;<
  18.
how much then?? if its much more than £30 then i might just buy a kit myself, seems interesting, never knew thats what the bluebeard was
get the kit yourself i was hit by customs on the way in and it ended costing me another tenner :/ so around £40 total
  19. aye for a kit i'd be wanting a bit more than £30 for it! considering they normally go for around £120 think sanford and sonny bluebeard etc. i'm obviously not looking for anywhere near 120 for it though haha
  20. marshall dynamic bass system 2X10 hardly used gigged it once bought it a while ago now but decided that i prefer 15" to 10". it sounds great holds the low b well i used it in a band that plays a# and had no problems sounded great etc etc looking for around £160 + postage bass pod xt gave it a try really not for me looking for around £100 for this, great for home recording etc. also have a red onions looper for sale and maybe a GGG tuned muff i built i'm open to offers on these two!
  21. if this was a bit cheaper i'd be tempted ;< also if i could sell my current head haha i need moar louds ;<
  22.
it has a wet dry blend AND a bass boost eq
haha maybe he likes to go for the lower harmonic of the E and boosts that for the fundemental frequency ;< "its no good if it doesn't make people physically ill"
  23. i'd so have that tonebender if it wasn't a really expensive version of a big muff it just looks so much cooler ;<
