    Yeah, there's a touch of neckdive if you try to balance it without holding the neck. Sitting down I've found my right forearm provides enough counterweight that it's not even noticeable. Standing up, I use a wide grippy Mono strap and there's no issue.

    Sadly selling this but I've got to stick to the one-in-one-out policy (bass corner getting a bit busy). Professionally set up, frets dressed and strung with LaBella Mustang flatwound strings (£65 alone). It plays very well, nice low/medium action and cleanly frets all the way up the neck and no sharp fret ends (thanks to aforementioned work I had done). Has great thump -sounds super in a live setting - and thanks to it's diminutive size it's easy on the back for long gigs. Includes Fender gig bag. Excellent condition apart from a teeny lacquer chip at the neck pocket (pictured with a 5p for scale). No trades thanks. I'd rather meet up Central belt between Edinburgh and Glasgow as I don't currently have a case in which to courier this. But if you're local in Edinburgh, you're welcome to pop round, have a coffee and a try out. Thanks for looking.

    Just picked this up secondhand for £350. So excited about it I didn't even wait to get home before I took the photos. Not sure about it's age or origin but it's a whole lot of fun and I've been itching for one for ages. Looking forward to rehearsal on Wednesday to see how it sits with the band.

    Hiya, that's a very kind offer and very much appreciated however I suspect it will simply fuel further GAS! Will continue to tweak the existing setup for now as it does work quite well, more about fine tuning the levels and just need the luxury of some time and teeny blobs of Tipex (does that still exist?) to mark the spots for the dials.

    First gig with the latest incarnation of the board that tries to solve the problem of having a bass and EUB with two very different outputs levels and not having to unplug/plug in mid gig. Got choice of either using the variable pad on the bigshot or the boost on the subway (I used the latter). Worked well though I could do with tidying up the in/out cabling routes. There's an MXR mini iso brick underneath providing the power.

    Last night I played for about 2.5 hours. Played mostly on the short scale Mustang - then (because I just fancied a change) played the last 30 mins using the regular scale Deakey P bass. Sooooo, to answer your specific questions... Q1 - Picked up the Mustang, played without thinking I was playing anything different or unusual. When I swapped to the P bass it felt MASSIVE! Body, neck everything felt HUGE for a couple of songs before the muscle memory came back. So my challenge wasn't about going from long scale to short scale - it was about how odd the return journey to long scale felt! Q2 - never noticed any neck dive on the Mustang - but (like others say) I'm using a Mono grippy strap which probably helps.     Gig was good, not a huge crowd but they were up for it. Sound engineer was good - efficient sound check and great on stage sound. Backline was fried (an ancient Ashdown Mag and Trace cab that was once a combo and had electrical tape securing the amp/cab connection). Hence me trundling my own gear in

    Nope. Every time I tried to get close to Drummonds I hit a pedestrian only zone or a no right hand turn. Ended up parked in Bon Accord.

    I've played the Glasgow HRC a few times (and we had 2 bookings for this year which now seems to be off as per your comment about it closing suddenly this week). I've had to wheel my amp from Bath street in the rain.

    Tonight I'd like to thank Aberdeen City Council for their traffic policies which afforded me the opportunity to carry this lot from the gig venue back to my hotel room in the pissing rain - in two trips. Unable to use my (electric, zero emissions I might add) vehicle because there's no freaking way to get a car anywhere that doesn't involve a bus gate, closed road, one way street or a pedestrian zone. Got back to the hotel just in time for the bar to shut. Absolutely perfect. Gig was good though.
