I'm guessing you're not interested in trades if you've taken delivery of its replacement....

I'm jinxed. I only recently bought a Puma 500. Before that I had Genz Benz gear.

I'm the same. I once bought an Austin Ambassador and look what happened to the British Motor industry.... -
Anybody tried this....?

No, unfortunately it's the usual problem, paying for it! If it's still around after the new year I may have to see what I can do. Till then good luck with the sale.

Blimey! You're right, 430 quid for an S212! That's for nothing!
-
Oh Lordy! How I would LOVE to own this!
-
Cheers for the replies, fellas. I've decided to give D'Addario EXL170BT's a try, the balanced tension set. If anyone's tried em, I'd be interested to hear!
-
Cheers Lozz. When I bought the bass it had DR Fat Beams on. The tension took some getting used to but once I had I found there was no going back, and they sounded great, only thing I wasn't keen on was the feel of steel. I may have to try to get used to it!

Cheers!

Looking for some roundwound recommendations for my CIJ Jazz. Currently has DR Nickel Low Riders on, which sound great on the E and A, really full and punchy, but a bit too zingy on the D and G. Nice in the mids though on all four strings. Also looking for fairly high tension, not keen on floppy strings!
So there you go, punchy, high tension nickels with good mid content....GO! -
Top fella! Sale and very prompt postal delivery. Buy with confidence!
-
Lovely!! One of the rare ones that doesn't have the logo under the string retainer.....I HATE that!!

Hi,
here's a video recorded in my friend's teaching studio of a funky little groove, featuring my righteous sounding Carvin SB5000. I love it so! Video features the very talented John Waugh from The 1975 on tenor sax, Phil Hudson (Lighthouse Family, Omar, Mica Paris) on guitar, my good friend Dave Lourie on drums and myself (duh!) on aforementioned Carvin.
Hope you enjoy it!

Indeed. That'll teach me to be such a grumpy old scrote.

Fair play from me, too. Apologies for jumping to the wrong conclusion! No offence intended.

Alright, not really of great importance in the scheme of things but has anybody who is foolish enough to waste most of their life on Facebook noticed these posts that Scott puts up on his page where he has a picture of some bass or amp, the name of which will be in bold letters, then a quote along the lines of "hey, anybody tried one of these, love to hear what you think..." then when loads of people reply he doesn't post a single response? Am I being cynical here or is this purely a way of generating some extra revenue through some sneaky Facebook advertising ploy?
-
Ahh!! Might be an idea for me to fully read a post before commenting! Hope you get your SB5000 and welcome to the club if you do!

£800 for today only.as the other bass I want is just over £800.black friday ";-)

If you're gonna let it go for that price wouldn't you just be better off getting in touch with Bass Gear to see what they would offer trade wise? That said, I think Carvin may have discontinued the SB5000 but BG may have one or two in stock. -
Not at all, there doesn't seem a way of saying this without it sounding wrong, but the more anal the better!
Cheers! -
Any other opinions??

Cheers KK!

Apparently, and this is just what a good friend and former owner of TWO Foderas (!) said, one thing that all that cash doesn't buy you is customer care. He said it's terrible!

Hi,
I'm in the process of building a '58 Precision using Mighty Mite and Fender parts. Would like it to look as authentic to the original as possible and need to know what hardware was chrome and what was nickel. I know the current '58 reissues use chrome tuners and knobs but I've seen a Custom Shop reissue with what looks like aged nickel parts. Any of you history buffs able to help me out here?
Cheers!

Ah! Sadly not, I have a Promethean P5210 combo, the 2x10 version of the original which I really don't need to let go of but have a serious hankering for a Puma. That is a great price you're asking and I'm sure it'll be gone in no time. Good luck with the sale!
