4.
I spend way too much time on the warmoth site planning my dream warmoth made bass, if I had the money right now I would get this: Body: 4-string Jazz bass in Daphne blue made from swamp ash with white pearl PG with routed double battery box with strap locks Neck: maple on maple 20 fret neck with a hipshot 3 string retainer with clover ultralite tuners with clover ultralite detuner with Graph Tech TUSQ nut with the chrome Warmoth Metal Decal on the headstock Pickups: 2x Big Singles Preamp: Audere w/ 4 band with passive switch and tone @ 18v Bridge: String through Hipshot single saddles I think it would be an awesome bass with ALL chrome hardware, it would cost a fair bit but in the end I think it would be worth it. What does everyone else think? And what would you make?
Here's mine. Swamp ash body, birdseye maple neck, ebony fingerboard, Nordstrand NJ4SE pickups, ACG/John East preamp in this photo swapped for an Audere JZ3, Badass bridge.
 5. Er, steady on there! That was my bass and it didn't end up like that through mistreatment! The finish had started to come off when I bought it. That was a common problem with early Vigiers due to the gel type finish they used and the ding in the body came about through a ham fisted drummer who dropped a tom on it whilst packing his gear away, so go and sadden yourself with something else!
It really saddens me to know that a Vigier has been mistreated in such a way! Good luck with the sale, its a great price even considering the damage.
6. Well, don't just sit there regretting missing it, he's back at the MEN Arena, June 29th, get yourself a ticket! I saw him on his last tour and it was amazing. Already got my ticket for this one.
I recorded this last night and have just "rewound" the digibox to watch it again for the second time this morning. Classic stuff. I'm now extremely jealous that I wasn't there. His daughter is very cute too......
7. I've toyed with the high end rig idea, and if I had the funds I'd probably get my dream rig, but I own the same HA3500 head, with a 4.5xl, and to me it sounds, well, fine. I got the cab for 130 quid off ebay about 3 years ago and the seller threw in the amp as it didn't work. A 70 quid repair and I've got a perfectly good rig for 200 quid. I can't imagine a rig costing 5 times as much would sound 5 times better and back in the day those Hartkes were the highend rigs! Good enough for Will Lee, Jeff Andrews, Neil Stubenhaus etc. On the downside though....oooooooooh it's heavy!
I have a nice rig - it's an Aguilar AG500 head (twin channel jobby), an Aguilar GS112 and a GS112NT. I also use an Aguilar Tone Hammer which also acts as a DI box. It's all connected with OBBM's cables and the whole lot sits on a Gramma Pad. Last night I did a gig in a huge marquee, big stage, big PA, small audience (it was ferking freezing). Because of the small numbers, I couldn't bring myself to be arsed to unload my rig so I used the house rig - a slightly battle scarred Hartke HA3500A head and an equally road worn Hartke VX 4x10 and I have to say it sounded absolutely bloody marvelous. We've had debates about this before - I know but I was kinda flabbergasted and thought to myself...why spend loadsa money when this little rig is plenty good enough? Thoughts please....
8. Hey, Schplooko!!
For sale one Alleva Copollo LM5 Deluxe, ash body, maple neck with blocks and binding, AC single coils with Copollo two band eq. The bass was purchased in June 2009 from Alleva Copollo and is in brand new condition. A lightweight bass for this style of solid ash body instrument, I would take a guess at 9-9.5 pounds, fantastic sounding and playing bass. I will try to post better pictures but my daughter has decided to liberate my camera from my possession so more will follow, the bass is not quite as red as it looks in my picture must have been the lighting in the room so I have attached a more representative picture of the finish from Jimmy's website. So it's the Deluxe five not the four string for sale here. £2500.00
9. Ha! This man has taste! FISHBONE IS RED HOT!!
Still Norwood
10.
I am somewhat bored at the moment with fretless and not playing it at the moment, so decided to put this up and see what trade offers i get Description Here we have a fantastic example of a Pedulla Pentabuzz 5 String. I have had the bass for nearly 2 years now and its been a joy to play. I have never had a problem with it, smooth to play. Made in the USA around the year 2000. Specification This example is a Dark Cherry red burst with minimal yellow. Premium 5AAAAA Solid Flame maple body, with maple neck, bare ebony fingerboard, Premium bartolini pickups and NMTB 2 band bart pre-amp. Pedulla/ABM branded hardware. Hardware is all Gold. 19MM String spacing, 34\" scale. The bass also includes a Pedulla hardcase. Functionality The electronics, Jack socket and truss rod has no issues whatsoever and are fully functional. The neck is straight as an arrow. Playability This bass is setup for me personally, this is a very personal unique setup which some people may not like, this includes an incredibly low action, ultra light stainless steel strings (110-30) which are tuned B to G. However the bass has plenty of leeway in truss rod adjustment and Bridge saddle adjustment so the new owner can personalise the bass with their own setup with NO problems. This is THE best fretless i have ever played and probably the best fretless made currently. Sounds The soapbar bartolinis are a good mix of burpy Ken Smith sound, to a upright woody neck pickup sounds. Its a quality setup, much preferable IMO to the P-J version. Condition The bass is near perfect in all particulars. Not much to note. Very very VERY minor fretwear. Price/Trades £1350 Straight trades: NONE Part Exchange (With cash my way) Fender USA Deluxe 5\'s in Montego black Plus cash/1X Musicman 5 string plus cash/Gibson Grabber plus cash/ Delivery I can offer a hand delivered service to your nearest major train station for the same price as postage would have cost, however this offer is only available to people willing to meet within 200 miles of Bristol. You can also pick up the bass locally in Bristol. Where you can try it out through my Ampeg/Trace/Barefaced rig. I can post nationally or internationally, buyer pays all costs. Other information The Pedulla requires a special truss rod tool, which can be bought from mansons in Exeter online and any other Pedulla dealer. I only have one and require it for my fretted Pedulla. However if needed i can demonstrate that the truss rod works 100% in this bass using my tool before purchase. If you require any other information or specific photos of the bass, please let me know either by PM or my E-mail address [email protected], My number is also available for serious buyers. Photos: Any white marks are either dust or light reflections, no dings or missing paint here!
I have a Fender Deluxe Jazz 5 string which I love but....mmmmmmmm!
 11.
Hi, fitted my John East/ACG filter based preamp to my Warmoth Jazz last year. It's a great bit of kit. The bottom end is absolutely thunderous! However, I think I prefer a more traditional way of going about setting up my tone, and have decided on an Audere pre with a more traditional vol/vol/treble/bass/passive tone, so my ACG is up for sale. Currently this preamp would set you back £205 new. I'm after £120 or thereabouts. Just looking to cover most of the cost of the Audere. Any takers?
Still here BUMP.

 13.
As above. Just fancy going back to 10s and the RS 210s will complement my Classic 450. Cabs are 8 Ohm in excellent condition with roqsolid covers. Pickup/ meet only as it would be really difficult for me to post. I'm in Manchester but don't mind driving 100 miles or so to do a deal. Will put pics up later. Cheers, Ray
Do you have a price in mind?
 14.
Hi Martin I went to the ACG site but the photos dont open for me! I am looking for a preamp on a Jazz plate that has the Jack socket fitted for my Aerodyne bass as I dont want to drill anymore holes in it. Regards Will.
No problem, Will. I think I might have a bit of a problem with that, unless anyone already has a side mounted jack or they want it for a new build. Cheers Martin.

Cheers Jake! When it comes to computers I'm a bit of a Luddite. So....er...how would I go about doing that?
 16.
Do you have any photos --Whats the configuration of the pots/ knobs and Is it a standard Jazz plate with the jack socket on it? Will.
Hi Will, yes, it's on a Jazz control plate, 4 knobs, side mounted jack socket. If you go to the Gear Porn section and search "Finished! Warmoth/ACG Jazz" there are some photos there. I'd put them up here but I'm on my way out and it would take me forever, since I'm useless with computers. The controls (top to bottom) are; volume/pickup pan, filter stack, treble stack, passive tone. You need a side jack and battery box on your bass. These little beauties are currently £205 new. Cheers, Martin.

 18. Just a quick question. Does anyone know if a Sadowsky onboard preamp (with VTC) will fit in the control cavity of a standard top routed Fender Jazz? Anyone Done it? My Jazz already has an active circuit which I'm looking to change and has a seperate battery compartment. Cheers.
 19.
I've started playing with a new band and the drummer recommended Document by Karizma. Neil Stubenhaus is a little bit good isn't he. I hope they don't want that standard of playing from me or I'm on my ear http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eqaWRgwYer0 5:45 Peter
Check out "I'm Tweeked". Incredible!!
 20. Anyone out there familiar with Finale Notepad? Trying to transcribe some stuff and need to know how to indicate tempo, key and time signature changes. Looked in the help files but not very helpful.
 21.
Hi all I am going to be at the show myself this year, Ped and Machines very kindly ran my stand last year brilliantly whilst I was stuck at Music live! I will bringing a good selection of gear with me but if there is anything in particular that you would like to see or play please let me know. See you next Sunday :-) Regards Mark
Would love to see some Berg cabs, Genz Benz amps (especially Shuttle Max), Clover, Nordstrand and Mayones basses, if that's ok.
 22.
The Tecamp 212 is a perfect lightweight solution and is much better than I imagined a lightweight cab could be....Im very impressed. The Aguilar gives you that ceramic thump, and I think its slightly darker and 'dirtier' yet still clear and articulate. Plus Brown cabs...how cool is that?! Totally different horns on them as well....I like them both! The Tecamp retails for more because of its weight... I neeed to AB them both....properly. But, I really like what Ive got. No more, nothing...Im a lucky guy and I should just enjoy what Ive got. If you can get either...I would! The Aguilars will be getting more play soon when the Genz 9.0 comes as they are 8 ohms cabs (better for a tube amp as the Orange is 200 tube watts no matter what ohmage...or 4ohm minimum....went all out with two DB212s) and the Shuttle 9.0 pumps in a lot more...so they effectively become one cab solutions as well as a huge stack!
Cheers, it's actually 112's I'm after, but the Aggie DBs and the TecAmps are the ones that interest me, along with the Glock Space Deluxes. Aye, the Shuttle 9.0 should be something to behold. Makes total sense to me, being able to get the full power from it with one 4ohm or two 8ohm cabs, which you can't do with the Max 12.0. I'm waiting for Genz to take my advice and release a Shuttle Max 9.0! So far they keep denying it, but it must be on the cards someday soon. Aye, the brown Aggies look cool. If I ever go for the DB112s they'll be the White Hot babies. Love 'em!
 23.
She doesnt know about the Shuttle 9.0 yet! I'll try and confuse her about it.
Might be an idea! Not wishing to hijack thread, but DB212 and Tecamp 212, which is best?
 24.
Id really like an amp shootout with the Genz Shuttle 9.0/LM3/RH450....we should do this!
It's probably only a matter of time before you own all 3 so you'll be able to do the shootout yourself! (Sorry, I'm just jealous!) Great collection. Your missus must be the most understanding woman around.
 25.
Which model configuration is it? ie is it a single pickup 3 knob version or what? Have you a cash price in mind? [Edit] just noticed your sig - I guess its a 2 pickup version?
Yeah it's the 2 pickup Jazz plate, you can check em out on the ACG website. 6 months old, £150. Prefer trade for pre if pos. Cheers.
