Roundwounds, no silk and gold/brass coloured ends?
-
Super smooth pedal transaction with Lozz. Top man.

I pinched myself to play at; The Fleece - after door sales the band got £12.50. The Louisiana. Got my favourite video recorded on a phone! Not huge venues but iconic in Bristol.

I am lucky to have the kind of old fashioned shop nearby that seems to stock everything - even fork handles!

I bought from my local hardware store and used super glue! Worked a treat.

Bugger, I've just seen this. My friend is there but he is not reading his messages. -

I have one and used a black pen to disguise the Nike logo. Stops my wrist from getting sweaty/sticky on bass. -
I am not recommending flat wounds or round wounds but what I have found is I don't have to spend a fortune on strings that produce the sound I am looking for. IMO give some cheaper brands a go you might be surprised.

Must just be a psychological thing then. Tighter (only way I can describe it) sound making me imagine tighter/stiff feeling strings.
-
Last night at band practice myself and the guitarist spent some time adjusting my EQ and getting a new chorus pedal sounding right. The result of which was less bass EQ, more mids and a better tighter sound in the band mix. Following this my strings felt different (more tension a little more abrasive on my fingers). Now this has happened on a couple of occasions before. Have others found this or are my ears somehow effecting what I am feeling - am I just imaging this or is there some science behind it. I play with D'addarios roundwound nickel light and have had these on for a number of months. Paddy.

O It's all carefully thought out!

Bands first gig yesterday. Daytime special at Warminster Bandstand. It was a tad breezy which cramped us all up but it was a fun gig to set the scene of others to come.

Back to DI output question again. Does using my bass or amp volume controls effect FOH or is this purely set at mixing desk? This is a new concept to me.

I've just picked up a shell pink Ashdown jazz from BassChat. It's awesome and has quickly made it to my No1 gigging bass. Paid quite a bit less than the £500 mark! -

Slightly left field but as a teen Psychobilly I would often travel to The Klubfoot and especially if Frenzy were playing. Steve Whitehouse played high octane slap bass and main vocals. -
How was Your rehearsal last morning or night ?
paddy109 replied to nilorius's topic in General Discussion
I had the best rehearsal in years last night. Newish band with a few gigs in the calendar. Had a full pa set up run through and the band sounded immense. My bass sounded the best I ever heard - very excited. Great musicians that have really pushed my own playing, not extremely technical just very tight. Lovely evening that was too short! -

Stew, should get on the scooter club scene - could be lucrative. National rallies and all that. Local club as well Radstock Devils! -
Ive just bought a Jazz bass from Ted. Super easy transaction. The bass was as described, packaged exceptionally well and a speedy delivery. Thank you. Another amazing Basschatter to do business with. Paddy.

Thank you both. That is clear. I regards to type of cable from di to desk what am I looking to buy?

I've just joined a band that will use front of house pa for me to run my bass through. Can someone explain in simple terms what I need to do with my ABM di and what 'pre' 'post' eq does. I don't want to look a complete novice when it comes to setting up! I have looked at the Ashdown online manual but still confused.

Just sold an amp to Patrick. Easy transaction. Great communication and fast payment. Fantastic asset to the BassChat community.
