  1. Good to see Scott Thunes and Billy Gould get a mention. I'd add - Prince.
  2. I used to have an old Q Tron and enjoyed its tone and how it was a bit 'nuts'. And now I'm after a filter again, with an FX loop, and have read lots of good things about the GR2. Now I'm unable to do a direct comparison between the two and so I was wondering if anybody could provide me with a description of the tonal difference between the GR2 and the Q Tron Plus. Thanks Mike

  7. Hi Pete, what the 78's value could be has crossed my mind on more than one occasion! The jazz bass was a swap plus £150 my way, and remains my number one instrument. Its certainly made up for any worries I had about any money I could've got for the Stingray. But there's always "what if...?" Anyway, I'm going to try and spend the rest of the year NOT looking at more Stingrays and in particular 5ers....
  8. I used to have a Stingray. Sunburst, maple neck, from 1978. Bought it for £695. I thought the Stingray's neck was too chunky and that it was this that was stopping me from being a super bitchin' badass bass player, and so I swapped it for a 74 Fender Jazz Bass. That was in 1993. I've still got the Jazz bass, which I record with, and an 88 Streamer that you can see in my picture, which I play live with. I've just got another Stingray..., and oh my goodness its fantastic. Why did I let the 78 go?!
  9. Just bought an EBS pedal off Jay. Top bloke, quick and easy sale, delivered quickly. Couldn't ask for anything more! Recommended.
  10. Thanks for the responses, guys. That Darkglass sounds fantastic. And quality costs! I do like the ODB-3, and have had one and liked the grit it added to my bass, but I couldn't get the more overdriven sounds I like with it. Any thoughts on the EBS Multidrive or the MXR M80?
  11. Ok, hit me with your recommendations, good people of Basschat! Mike

    Delay!

I'd recommend the EHX Memory Man with Hazarai. It has tap tempo, is easy to use, can make great modulation sounds... It does a lot! Have a look on Youtube. I've used it with bass and a guitar playing friend was very impressed by it too. Mike
  14. I'd go; Korg Pitchblack tuner>EBS Octa Bass> Sansamp PB>EBS Bass IQ>EBS Unichorus>EBS Multi comp Clean signal into the Octave and a bit of dirt into the IQ. Give it a go!
  15. Octave pedal in excellent condition. With box and instructions. SOLD
  16. Traded by Warwick today with Rich for his Stingray. Rich is a really sound bloke and it was a pleasure to meet him. Good communications. Recommended. Cheers Rich, Mike (a very happy Stingray owner)
