1. 1972? Mine starts with 41 serial number and I thought it was from 1973/74.
2. Walking from Hammersmith should take about 10 minutes.
3. I've got an ebony board on my 2001 Ltd Ed Warwick Thumb bolt-on. A very deep sounding bass with a lovely top end.
4. Go for it. Very reliable and will be loud enough.
5. Watching Hot Fuzz, drinking a bottle of the old the vino collapso and playing my new Warwick. Huzzah!
6. Had the pleasure of dealing with and meeting, the Dude. Sold him a pedalboard; top bloke, accomodating and friendly with it. Ideal! Another one of Basschat's good guys.
7. Just traded basses with Jay. He now has another Jazz bass, and I now have another Warwick. Very happy! Top bloke to deal with, had a good chat over a couple of bass cases in St Pancras; recommended! Mike F
8. Raredevil PMd. Silddx, Thanks for the comments and the link. A number of 'experts' on BC had been telling me otherwise (about its value)! Mike
9. I have just become a fan of Nomeansno. Thank you so very much.
10. Been listening to The Stranglers for the past few days now. Watching the Battersea gig on youtube too. Great stuff. JJ on Nice 'n' Sleazy is such an influence on my sound and I first heard it over 20 years ago (not first time round!).
11. Faith No More - Angel Dust It came out when I was 21. I'm 40 this year. Realising what an influence Billy Gould was on my playing - great stuff.
12. Cheers guys, I gave Wizard a call today and I'll be posting my pickups this week. I'll give an update on how they sound when I get them refitted. Mike
13. In the mid 90s I replaced the original pick ups on my 1973 Fender Jazz bass with EMGs. The EMGs have served me very well but I still have those old pick ups. The EMGs were put in because the original pick ups squealed like bloody hell at higher volumes. Can anyone recommend a place I can get them fixed? Cheers, Mike
14. Hello there, The bass on Cardiacs' albums Sing To God and Guns - what is it? I've often thought that its some of the best recorded bass ever and I was wondering if anybody could shine some light on what I'm hearing; in particular tracks like Eat It Up Worms Hero. Thanks, Mike
