Bless you!

@nige1968 thanks man. I’ve checked the battery and wiring and it’s all good. Yeah it seems that there’s more than few people who get them swapped out quite regularly. It’s an active bass so that’s a lot of in and outs. I think it’s more of a mechanical issue; the lead goes in and out too easily and the signal cuts out with only a little lateral force. I’m guessing at 27 years old it’s just worn out. Ive ordered a Switchcraft barrel jack today. Only 3 wires to solder so it should be relatively straight forward. And it’s a gold one replacing a chrome one which will match the rest of the hardware!

Can anyone recommend or give me a link to the best one I can get and put in my 97 Streamer? Thanks

Prince & the Revolution - Around the World in a Day

Did you do it? Fantastic song from a great album.

I’ve always thought he just switched to the DOD for that part, sounds like it to me but thinking about it if he had a Mutron there to record Sir Psycho Sexy then you’re probably correct.

Used to love them. First I heard was Uplift Mofo, still one of my favourites of theirs. Then really got into them with Mother’s Milk. Loved it but strangely don’t listen to it anymore. As others have said BSSM was the pinnacle. Then John left. Didn’t like One Hot Minute though I did see them at Wembley with Dave N and it was a good gig. John returns and Californication, while being damned good didn’t for me reach the heights of 10 years previous. By the Way is probably the album I listen to most now. I think it’s fantastic and up there with BSSM and Uplift Mofo. Stadium Arcadium could for me lose about 10 tracks. Cannot listen to anything of theirs since 2011 and cannot stand the sound of AK of late. Saw them 5 times from 89 to 2012; disappointingly they were never amazing as much as I wanted them to be. John’s solo stuff has moments of excellence. Flea should’ve kept his Spector. Go watch Fight Like a Brave!

Don’t blink or Something’s afoot! Previous to my earlier communication.., an addition found in excellent condition for £80 which has now gone some way to filling the gap on me board.

The Warm Audio Mutation is one good sounding pedal for sure. Looks cool too! Hmmm, flanger, phaser, flanger, phaser. What to do?
-
@Boodang it’ll either be the Flashback or the Boss DD8. Still undecided. I actually own a 1980/1 EHX Small Stone but it just takes too much low end away. Maybe I need a Line Selector too?
-
@MichaelDean thanks appreciate that but I just don’t get on with anything approaching a multi fx. They give me the fear which I realised years ago that that’s not so good mid gig. I’m a one-pedal-one-sound kind of guy!
-
@Homatron A ring modulator might be touch too weird but I like your thinking. An expression pedal (that doubles as a volume pedal. Is there such a thing?) linked to a delay pedal is a cracking idea. And maybe drop that flanger I’m after into the last bit of space. 👍
-
Regarding my own post, yeah I know, how’s about some suggestions for what I could fill the chasm-like space with? Anything goes (and currently I’d like to add a delay and flanger) so fill your boots. Basschatters, do your thing!

Mind the gap! All comments welcome.

I like its simplicity and it is hitting the sweet spot for me. It might do for you. I say go for it and get one.

Got a nano Q Tron today. Not much going control-wise but it does have a tone that I like. I used to have the big old 24v wooden box one, and I do miss it. The nano goes some way to scratching that itch. Should I have gone for the Q Tron plus?
-
Yeah I’d go with that range. Mine, above, was £799.

I met Vlad Naslas in the 90s and played through one of, if not the, first Meatballs. Nice chap. Nice pedal.

Anyone just given up on dynamic filters and just gone for a foot operated wah? Probably the wrong place to ask. Do I just need convincing/ more money/a slap?
-
@Risk101 thanks. Not a finish I would normally go for but it’s growing on me quickly. There are a lot of sounds in there, and I like the look of the single pickup, and I’m keeping the blend right down the middle. Playing-wise it’s a dream and I couldn’t leave the shop without it. It was one of those occasions when you just find the right one.

1997 Pro-M with an East preamp. Purchased this Saturday just gone. Colour is Almond Sunburst. After over a decade I finally return to owning a Warwick and bloody hell I’ve missed them.
