1.
I won't be bumping this any further Thanks to all those people who've shown interest. I've put the thumb screws on a few people who have made offers asking for deposits and I've declined the offer to ship to the Ukraine, so as it stands I've got the following available; Black Streamer Stage I ('90 Bartolinis) Black Streamer Stage II ('91 MEC) Natural Streamer Stage I ('90 Birds-eye maple with Bartolini Soapbars) Blue Streamer Stage I ('91 MEC) Dolphin Pro I ('91 MEC) Orange Streamer Stage I ('87 MEC with Demeter pre) Streamer Corvette ('91 Wizard overwound pups, original MEC circuit - supplied with original MECs as well) After this week I'll enjoy these basses again until the Summer and see where we stand then.
I thought someone from ukraine has bought your blue one? EDIT: haha, dw sorry didn't notice the Ukraine decline...shipping costs? but woo! still avaliable...
 2. Wah, Phaser, Overdrive or Fuzz?.. *shrugs* just a rough guess...
 3.
Should me and Steve feel guilty for starting Basschat and spreading GAS among the population? ;0)
blamed, yet thanked immensely Suprisingly this forum is actually my homepage ain't no help to my pent up GAS...
 4.
Well, I dont ever think you can cure yourself of gas. Say you gas for a jazz, and you get that jazz, and you think "great, now I'll get a precision I really dont need to match my jazz" and then you get that precision, and then you find yourself playing the precision more and you think "I'll sell that jazz and get something active and modern to contrast my precision" so you get that modern active bass, then you think to yourself, "I know I'll sell my precision and get something 5 string active to go with my active 4 string" and then after a while you decide your playing five strings and you sell that four string in favour for a second five string and one day whilst playing on one of your fives you say to yourself "You know I really miss the simplicity of a passive 4 string jazz bass" and thus it continues, and it gets worse when you see a bass player who really inspires you when he or she is playing something you are yet to own or play. Once you've got gas its not going anywhere, unless you manage to guilt yourself into not buying anything else, but then that only usually lasts for a short while
So damn true this forum encourages it alot for me, all your lovely basses... me wantee
 5. That decal is very prominant... oi!oi! Nice bass anyways...shame Im not a lefty...or someone could become the new hendrix on bass :brow:
 6. Are these better than MEC's?...if so, I'll whip some into my Streamer
 7. This is Mine now..
 8.
I'm selling my Ibanez Rd300 Bass. Its an excellent beginners bass and retails at around £140 and above but im sellin it for £100 or nearest offer. Ive just restrung it with Elixir strings and ill throw in a bag. Will only accept personal collection however, no postage available. Im in Liverpool and will allow collection at my home or in the city.
Pics would be helpful for your sale :brow: not interested myself, but others may be.
 9. I recall you saying this Mr Thunderthumbs..
Gorgeous basses. I've got one the same, but made a couple of years later methinks. It's the one bass I'll take to my grave I think.....even the Mrs wouldn't see it sold!
It's fair you don't use it as much, but still *points above*.. Anyways, have a BUMP! on behalf of me mate you'll always buy the best from Thunderthumbs true testimonial raite there.
 10.
Squier Jazz He wants a £20 deposit within 2 hours of the auction close. And he's vague about the description too. It's got a "short neck" apparently, doesn't say why. Anyone recognise these? Is it worth a punt?
Short Neck?? Wha?? looks normal to me. He seems reliable, 100% feedback isn't a bad sign. Kinda child-like though with the description. I'd feel even more luckier if I'd win it for the score price of £1 not £20 quid in advance..tho shame there's a reserve. If your concerned, ask the seller more questions or pictures. If your confident, Go for it!
 11.
Well........I'll trade you for the Jag! C'mon you know you want it!
As much as I would love to ...my loyalty is to bass what can I say, these lovely bass folk on here have converted me...to a brighter musical future Oh yeah, the routing was done professionally to accustom the humbucker..(general size) and abit wider to compensate originality (the single coil)...not a hack job as you would see on many broncos...or Fender modded shortscales for that matter.
 12.
Cheers mate! I've seen you Bronco popping up in a few more places on the net. You still got the original single coil pup and pickguard ?
lol unfortunately I sold that my friend...for a mits of £160, that had an original 60's pickup, the pots and circuit's too. Only had a 1975 black scratchplate..someone wanted it to be honest it made me cringe when I heard it, made it bright for my liking and Im a jazz guitarist brought up and raised..so hence the current has the humbucker (80's)..jazzy nice quirky sound. In my vast urge of GAS...I need the money!! *pants & drools* not tempting you in anyway..but...BUY IT!
 13.
I know its a guitar pedal but still ... <Bump>
Can you use guitar FX pedals for bass? shocker to me if so...
 14.
Yeah, that's exactly what I was going to do.....new pots, bridge, tuners, etc. Then the Marcus Miller Jazz caught my eye .....the rest is history!
Haha, It just seems like the best option.. though to be honest I think the electrics are fine...at first it did have some buzzing but that was dust caught around the volume pot.. WD40 cleared that immensely. lol it happens, damn temptation!..I'm gassing for another bass.. though a Car too.. UPDATE: Ok, just got off the phone with Guitar Works Technician: Julian...he's done many of my guitars and I've been highly satisfied...lol lets hope I feel the same after he does my bass(es) I was satisfied to hear he has a Warwick care kit (truss rod tool, allen keys)...or I would have been annoyed to change the truss rod if it had ruined Cheers Bass Fanatics!..though keep me posted if there is one in Wycombe Area.
 15.
Hey mate, if you do decide to go the whole hog, and get a full repair job done too, then keep me posted....I'd love to see that beauty in it's full glory like I planned at some point. At least I know it's gone to a good home Cheers, Pete.
Hey Pete, lol I will keep you posted on its re-birth. Might even change the current faded hardware to some new ones... Gonna give it some great TLC which it deserves I'll post pictures in a month of its improvements *whispers* I bought an adjustable brass nut, totally identical to the current one just incase the current has faults Cheers Pete Pedro
 16. Just to help a newbie.....*ghm* SOMEONE BUY THIS!...please
 17. Hey bassman, whats the effect your using at 0:25 till about 1:35? auto wah? Thanks in advance
 18.
Andy Viccars has done some great stuff for me. Check out this 1971 EB3 he restored for me - theres pics of the restoration here (and on the following pages) http://www.gibsonbass.com/EB3Lrestoration1.php His website is here http://www.andyviccarscustom.co.uk/ If its just a set up you need, i'd buy Dan Erlwines 'guitar repair guide', the truss-rod adjusting tool, and do it yourself. He gives great instruction, and if you follow them to the letter, its hard to break anything.
Woa thats a great restoration....you'd hardly notice it was ever broken before... I'm trying to see if my uncle can score me a lift downthere, I believe its only a 20 min like job but this is a Warwick & I want the best Thanks for the advise evilLordJuju, I may consider that book... Cheers
 19.
I went to collage in Wycombe a long long time a go, many lunch breaks were spent in Percy Priors, has it closed down.?
lol when I had work experiance me and my friends would always meet at Percy Priors (although the new owners changed it to "Rainbow Bridge") twas a gd place, until staff and management changed. Apparently they went out of business because they couldn't afford to keep stock, so *over night* they up't and left . No warnings at all, I recall a technician in there by the name of Mike..he didn't seem too keen, esp when I saw how he relic's uses a pair of scissors tut tut. There's a new one apparently...called BBZguitars (lincoln road) I haven't been and I don't think I want to as they stock the copies (vintage, squier, encore) and don't have a luthier.
 20.
given that none of us have any cash it's probably the only reason we're looking at the For Sale forum anyway
lol It's so damn true
 21.
Come on now chaps, give the man a break. That is the cheapest 12 string bass I have seen for sale in a long time.
.. I thought it was a 4 string bass..
 22.
+100 for Andy Viccars based in West Bletchley (Milton Keynes) - Top bloke!
I think I may meet this guy sounds a geniune bloke. lol you do realise I have to rely on a bus until I pass my drivers test so Milton Keynes might take time for me to get there...I feel disappointed there aint a luthier local to me...or even better a yellow pages ad where the guy comes to you! how great would that be.. I think I may stick to the guy at Reading (Guitar Works) He did setups for my other instruments and noticed a few things I missed he seems reliable plus Guitar Works has given their word for a refund if damage whilst in maintenence Cheers for the suggested
