Im adjusting my height of strings on my NT streamer to increase playing for one (noticing catch at the moment for me, maybe its the adjust from a guitar sized neck and strings to bass) anywho, is there exact measurements for low action? or is it merely just personal preference? Thanks in advance

Hey I'm quite fond of these strings, the last bass I used to own before sold had a new set of these on. I recall they were probably the stainless steel ones, they felt exceedingly smooth to play with, no catch at all, lovely to slide with. Eventhough I've never tried their nickels as of yet, to people who have (or any oter company who make stainless and nickel or just in general differences). Which is better? certain style of playing would be helpful to allocate the certain type of string against. (for me, Jazz & funk, slap bass too ) Thanks

Anyone else had a similar experience to me on this type of isse?[/quote] lol That same act has happened to me, Ages ago when I was growing into bass I was looking into a Warwick, corvette was on my mind. I walk in, see a nice ash one on sale, 5 stringer and all plus natural finish I couldn't help myself but to have ago. It sounded fine, was allowed to go into a practise room and through an ashdown amp these sound pretty punchy. I take a glance round and notice slight scratches into the wood..and a ding centred near the back. This made me wonder if I wanted to buy this they would have another..unfortunately like most shops they only stock one unless you wait ages to order one. So I confronted the sales man who was pretty nice and helpful altho I think when I mentioned it..defence kicked in. He began denying its been a demo for long..and mentioned custom shop constantly...I DIDN'T CARE..I just wanted that one, there, then, today. Cheeky as it is, I asked for a little off to compensate..he wouldn't budge...and went off to another customer...to now I still see it..but I think its gained more playing attribute in looks...more dings You can't beat a sales person...they (the shop) needs profits..I guess thats why whatever they have..unless its second hand, they wont knock the price down...to them its still new, cos it hasnt left the shop. Ahh well, Im happy with the Warwick I got now, cheaper and immensely better

But not the rational way. First talk to the leader, if the message doesnt get thru..part ways. Get the Guitarist Fired from work...its a longshot (jokes) but it might work...teach a lesson? dont show up bass players? esp if they put all the effort in.

Thanks in advance.[/quote] Wow..your guitarist sounds immensely cocky..lol it's not reli how much you know of other songs that makes you a great players, its your character reli, presence, style..etc etc & if you make the effort to create your own material. lol..Indie through the years Has reli simple basslines, The Strokes, Arctic Monkeys..so try a handfull at that. Some Led Zeppelin lines are somewhat easy.. You reli have to give us some bands and we can mention songs by them that have the easy basslines EDIT: +1 for The Funks Comment, why bother staying?

Yeah! my teacher (who teachers guitar and bass) made me learn only one way..and he forced me (at the time) as it being the correct method where you attack the strings from above...like flea, but to me that just feels reli awkward & uncomfortable as I do wear my instruments high...just like the 50's/60's , I've evolved that technique where I tuck my forearm and use the complete force of my arm for the slap..it works on low strings as Ive discovered so I may lower the height just a tad bit on the Streamer...*sigh* gonna have to read the online manual.. lol I feel impulsed to say Pete, hows the new Lakland? is it fitting nicely in your uber bass collection? I may change them just for the sake of it I've fixed the problem with the LEDs also...a friend of my dads who does circuit boards did a run thru of all the circuitory..its spik and span now! only 1 minor loose connection... Strings should be person preferance..players take time to try nearly all brands avaliable to find their *signature or fav* ones...I like D'addarios and Elites tbh. the ones you mentioned sounds like Factory Fenders, the standard gauge they release all models (i.e for this case bass)
