I've played 5's exclusively for several years, but recently tried out a 4 and am loving it. For some reason, it just feels easier and slicker to navigate. My wife is adamant that I won't manage without a 5, but I'm seriously considering getting another 4 and just downtuning it.

For Sale is my Ashdown ABM500 II RC in a 4u rack. Perfect working order and excellent condition. Only selling because it just doesn't seem to suit my Epifani 410UL particularly well. Looking for £230 + P&P without the rack case or £250 with it. Willing to post although collection in person would be preferable for obvious reasons! Also happy to meet up within reason. Please get in touch if you have any questions. Only really looking for a cash sale at the moment, although I might be tempted by a trade deal if the right Warwick or Spector 5 is involved! Thanks for looking For some reason I don't appear to be able to upload a photo at the moment so here's the picture from the previous owner: http://basschat.co.u...-1307988377.jpg Please note that it's no longer in this 3u rack, but a 4u one

Managed to bag myself a Markbass F1 so can't wait to give that a go. Just need to shift the Ashdown now! Thanks for the advice and comments

I'm glad that it's not just me thinking that the Ashdown doesn't work with the Epi. It's nice having such a great choice a small heads to go for, but it makes decisions a bit harder to come by!

I'll keep it to the point; I have an Epi UL410 with an Ashdown ABM500. For whatever reason, the Ashdown isn't working in the environment I'm playing in. I want to go back to a SS head, but could do with some advice on which might work best with the Epi:

GK MB500
GB Shuttle 6.0
MB LM2/3
There may be others, but these are the ones that I'm thinking about at the mo. Thoughts and opinions welcomed

I think Clarky's onto something with the Ovangol suggestion. It doesn't look like Ash.

Fender MIM 60's RI Ltd Edition with Audere - £SOLD

I currently have this and a Lakland JO5 which keeps coming out of the bag in preference, so this is up for grabs. Spec:

Fender Mexico, Classic 60's Reissue, Limited Edition Burgundy Mist (colour matched headstock).
Pickup covers and thumbrest added by last owner
Fender Japan bridge (replaced the original Badass)
2 x 500k CTS pots (on passive control plate)
Audere JZ3 VB 3B preamp (I could put the passive plate back on if required)
Also included with the bass is:

Tortoiseshell pickguard
Gigbag
Condition: There are a couple of small indents on the back of the bass (see picture), and an under the laquer stain near the 'G' tuner (couldn't really photograph, it's that faint), this is probably buffing compound. Please note that the bridge volume knob is smaller than it should be - I'll include a set of push on alternative control knobs. One of the most fantastic aspects of this bass is the colour which almost has a subtle pearlescent quality to it, changing from a sort of champagne through to a really nice dark burgundy. Sound: It's a jazz, and a very good one at that. Lovely bark and bite when required. Sits in the mix very nicely as well. Price: With Audere - £450 + P&P (pickup is also absolutely fine if you're close enough or happy to meet up within reason) Without Audere - £370 + P&P Potentially open to trades so try me - ideally a 5 string fretless or a small amp.
