1. I have to say that I've never had any make of strings that last as long as DR's, so I'd be really surprised if you were changing them this often.
2. Hmmm, up she goes.....again! Am I asking too much here, or are times just that hard?
3. Price reduced to £450. Would also consider trades against nice 4 string bass.
4. If I didn't already have a non Ltd Ed LM II, I might be tempted. I've heard some good things about the Acugroove stuff.
5. This is up for sale having recently acquired Flanker's Epi UL410. Great cab in fantastic condition. Would ideally be after the cash (WAS £475, NOW £450), but would also be open to trades on Genz Benz head (or similar). Would also consider trade + cash from me for an interesting / nice bass. Thanks for looking and hit me with your offers...
6. Could you tell me how much this weighs and what the string spacing is at the bridge?
7. At the risk of sounding like a complete nunce, am I correct in thinking that 'vintage' tone is basically just 'thicker' with slightly compressed mids and not as much high end?
8. An 'in-the-middle-of-doing-the-ironing' BUMP (friday night's don't get any better )
9. Good to meet you today Steve. If your bass sounds anywhere near as good as this, it'll be a steal for someone: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qXFhQwC3v9M ATB
10. Thanks for all your input, folks. I've taken the plunge (?sp) and will be giving Flanker's Epi 410UL a go. If that doesn't work out, I might just have to give the Agi's another shot now that I have a more 'neutral' amp in the MB. I have to say though, that I'm quite hopeful for the Epi. Just having the larger box should make a fair difference. I'll let you know when I've managed to use it in anger! Thanks again.
11. I think the "if you like 'em and play 'em" comment is key. I've tried having two basses on a number of occasions, but I just keep going back to my favourite, so the other doesn't really get played. I guess if you do something different with one of 'em (eg string it with flats...) that turns it into a different tonal beast and they both get played..... can't see any probs with having them both.
12. Thanks for all your comments .... the constructive ones, at least! ;-) I'm using a MB LMII which, as we all know, has a pretty flat response. Chris - thanks for the suggestion of the Agi DB's. For some reason, I hadn't really thought of them. Will check the DB410 out, but can't remember if it's within my budget. Thanks again, chaps.
13. Not sure that I don't really have that already with the Berg??
14.
I'd give the Schro a VERY wide berth, in that case...!
Really; why?
My vote goes to the epifani 410 only as i have one and love it
Is it still possible to get some good 'ole jazz growl as well as the smooth, buttery stuff?
15. Hmmm, not sure it's just to do with the horn; more a voicing of the cab. Don't get me wrong it's a fabulous cab, but I'd just love something of the buttery lovely low end that I used to get from the Agi's.
16. Need some double speed advice please folks, pleeeeeaaase! I used to have two Aguilar 112's and loved the full, warm tone, but they lacked some of the mids to bite through the mix. I currently have a Berg HS210 which is a really great cab, but probably isn't really as warm as it is clean. Given that it looks like I've sold my Warwick, would a Schroder 1212L or an Epifani 410UL give me that warmth that I had with the Agi's but with a bit more mids bite? Please help!!
17. That's a really beautiful burst finish.
18. Yes...... I think! I'd be interested in trading my Warwick for a 5 string MM, as long as it doesn't have a dud G string. I had a Stingray with a dead G and it was pretty annoying and a blemish on an otherwise fantastic bass. Do you have such a Stingray?!
19. If I can sell my Warwick it won't be here for much longer!!
