1. Thanks Mark, I guess it's just sit tight then given that things do seem to be a bit on the slow side at the mo', especially for the £500+ market.
2. Back to the top. Tell me folks, am I asking too much for this lovely bass?
3. Price reduced to £700 and still open to trade offers.
4.
If you play with Horns, or Keys a lot then go for the 5 - the extra string is invaluable.
That's interesting. Not wanting to show my ignorance to plainly, but why a 5 if you play with keys or horns?
5. Bumpety!
6. and replied..
7. ...and I've sent you a reply!
8. Wondering if any of you folks would be intersted in mi' Lakland 55-02. Recently acquired in a trade, but also acquired a Stingray 5 at roughly the same time and really enjoying playing that. It's in really good condition overall; some buckle rash on the back if held up to the light and a small knock on the lower side of the headstock (see photo). Please mail me with any questions. Price-wise, I'm thinking somewhere in the region of £750, but I'm a reasonable chap, so ..... With regards to trades, I have a bee in my bonnet for Warwicks or anything jazz oriented. Let's see what 'ya got. 9. Jamie, I've just swapped my two Agi 112's for a Berg 210 and I'm really happy with it. Now I've got the Berg I realise just how mid-scooped the Agi's were. Don't get me wrong, I loved the Agi's, but I couldn't really get away with just using the one (for practices and small gigs) powered by my Eden WT400 unless I was standing right next to it. Although the Berg is still only an 8Ohm cab the extra mids and increased cone SA mean that volume is no longer a problem. Like Bottomfeed said, they are really articulate and punchy. My Stingray sounds fantastic through it and I'm really impressed at just how much bottom end it can carry. I'd love to hear it coupled up with an Ampeg!
10. Fantastic playing Luke! One of the best noises I've heard coming from a stage one for a while. I'm thinking about getting another Warwick at the moment, but it would have to be a 5'er. All the best with the sale and have a bump on me for your top drawer playin'!
11. ... How's your back? If it's good and you want to keep it that way don't try carrying the Metro! Stick some heavyduty wheels on it or go modular. I know what you mean about the Redhead not handling the low B. I added an Eden 15" to mine which helped, but I still ended up changing it for and Eden head and Aguilar cabs (soon to be Bergantino!). I'd also agree with chris-b re the Lakland 5. I have a 55-02 with Barts in and it has a very hi-fi mid and upper range. Lower end probably slightly less hi-fi than the Stingray. Whatever you use, stick some DR Hi-Beams on it and you're away.....hi-fi heaven!
12. If you go onto the Lakland website they have loads of sound files for their basses to give you an idea of the noises you can get from each. I've had a JO5 and currently own a 55-02. The feel is very similar (and very nice) and I'm actually really surprised at what a good impression the 55-02 does of a jazz. Not so good at mimicking a Stingray (which I also have) though. The only downer with the JO5 was the weight; other than that it was an awesome bass. Laklands are just fab IMHO.
13. Humpty Bumpty.... Had a few sniffs, but still available.
14. Thanks Lee-Man, but no ta.
15. After a great deal of contemplation I've decided to stick out a feeler to see if any of you guys and gals would be interested in two Aguilar GS112's. Would prefer to trade at the moment unless something else pops up in the FS listings that takes my fancy. Ideally I'm looking for either:

lightweight 2x12
good quality 2x10 that could do the standalone cab thing for small/medium gigs
any other single cab combination that's lightweight with multiple cones
Interested in Schroeder, EBS, or similar to go with my Eden WT400. Really not interested in MB, Ashdown etc.. Ta for looking Sorry about the size of the pics, my resizer software's gone astray.
16. 'tis now, pending the usual. Rack ears still available.
17. +1 for Michael Manring - forgot about him. Looks a bit funny too
18. Won't bore you with loads of blurb..... Hardly used 2U rack for £17 + P&P Rack ears £10 or the case with the ears for £25 + P&P. May consider trade for a nice set of strings for my 5'er. Ta for looking.
19. I find it a bit tricky to define over-rated. Some are over-rated because their choice of notes ain't that great, others because their techniques are lacking and still others because they just don't rock my boat (or all three in my case!). For me, style is the main thing and the one person who just winds me up is Mr Wooten. You can't question the guys technique and pure talent, but damn I hate it when every single tune regardless of the genre or 'feel' has to be dragged into the musical cellar by filling it -at some point- with 200mph double popping, tapping la la la.... Annoys the pants off me. What's worse is that on three completely different songs, one with Dave Matthews, one with Bela Fleck and another with his own band, the double-popping-instrumental-fill was virtually identical. Give me Jamerson anyday. Big sigh.........I've been wanting to get that off my chest for a while. I now stand to be shot at!
20. Fantastic playing Alun. Lovely tone, superb choice of notes and. like urb said, great phrasing. Way to go!
21. I just adore some of the custom Warwicks, but to be frank I find their custom pricing is close to being ridiculous. Sure they look the dogs whatsits, but a damn expensive set of dogs whatsits! Having said that if someone offered me one of the NT Corvette's with maple neck, Koa top and a pair of SD soapbars I wouldn't say no.
22. Fantastic! Thanks for the heads up there fella!
23. I have some bells ringing, but can't remember for the life'o'me what you use these seals for! Explain to the dullard please....
