Fender Dimension 5 String with John East MM SOLD
lowregisterhead replied to lowregisterhead's topic in Basses For Sale
I played one of these a while back and thought it sounded really good. How heavy is this one Dave, and what's the balance like?
It balances well, no neck dive, and using the time-honoured 'weigh myself, weigh myself holding bass, subtract one from the other' method, it comes in at 4.4kg. so not too weighty at all. Can I tempt you, Gareth?? -

For sale is a MIM Fender Dimension 5 string in natural, fitted with a John East MM 3-band preamp. The original Fender preamp is also included. Apart from some swirling on the scratch plate, the bass is in as-new condition. Just fitted with a new set of D'Addario EXL170's, and set up with a nice low action. Lovely to play, and sounds great, but I need to make some room for a new arrival, so it has to go! :-) Comes with a good quality Levy's gig bag. NOW SOLD.

For sale is an Aria SB1000, an early one, serial number 0100xx, built in 1980, signified by the words 'The Aria Pro II' on the headstock. Later ones just have 'Aria Pro II'. Bought on a nostalgic whim a few months ago (I had an SB900 back in the 80's) but sadly the 16mm string spacing is just a bit too tight for my gorilla mitts these days! A few marks here and there, and it's lost a bit of lacquer on the bottom edge as shown in the photos, but other than that in really excellent condition for its age. All the electrics work well and quietly, and the frets are in good shape, with minimal wear. Straight neck, and the truss rod works. It balances beautifully, plays really well, and sounds great. It's just been fitted with a new set of D'Addario nickels. It comes with a hard case, a little worn, but perfectly serviceable. Also included is a brand new contemporary replacement 'Noisekiller' preamp module, manufactured by a Finnish company. I thought after so many years the original module might be starting to show its age, but having tried them both, they sound equally good. The original is currently fitted, but it's a 5-minute job to change them over, it just plugs into a multi-pin connector in the control cavity. NOW SOLD.
Eventually managed to get a response from Line6 after I rang them again - my emails to them had gone into a spam folder. They finally took the order over the phone, then were going to get Kay from accounts to get my details for payment. I chased them up again the next week and they said they'd send it out to me FOC due to all the delays. That was a week ago and it has yet to surface.
Boo. Not much better customer service than StageClix then. -
I bought Tony's 'spare' Epifunky 210 cab, and he was incredibly helpful, even arranging for delivery on a day of my choice! Great cab, great guy to deal with. Thanks!

Another +1 for Interparcel. The missus takes it to her workplace and they pick up from there, you can even stipulate the hours of collection. Even on their own standard service they offer increased insurance cover (although thankfully I've never had to claim on it, so I can't say how good it is) and I've sent basses to Holland and Belgium recently with no drama.

René just bought my Lakland 55-02, and was great to deal with, even taking the time to call me from the Netherlands to chat about the details! A straightforward, honest guy - buy/sell/trade with complete confidence. Thanks René!

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PLAYSTATION-3-Guitar-Fender-Precision-Bass-Guitar-Original-/281291902063 Call me an old fuddy duddy, and I know they would just get in the way and are a mere detail, but some strings and a bridge wouldn't have gone amiss, just for appearances sake. They seem to have taken the time to bother with the machine heads... makes me feel ancient FFS...

Dropped in to see Harry today to relieve him of a rather nice 5-string. A sound bloke, had a good chat. Buy/sell/trade with confidence. Thanks Harry!

Wireless Systems for Bass
Enjoy the Sony, I am sure it will work perfectly for you without the slightest glitch. I've been very impressed with it... and I'm uber critical on the performance of my wireless systems. I run a ULX-D also - and to be honest, for what you want it for, they are neck and neck.
Good to know, seeing as there's quite a price difference! I really liked your band's showreel, by the way - sounds and looks great -

As a footnote, I also now have the Sony system. Very happy with it - thanks to EBS freak for the general advice and guidance! I would also enter a note of caution regarding StageClix. I still don't know if it was a fault with the unit, or me being too critical, but it took 3 emails over almost 2 weeks to get any response from StageClix themselves, and that was only to say they had passed my query on to their 'technical team'. A few days later I got another email asking if I could send them a recording of the sound. By that time I had returned the whole kit to the seller, who refunded the full purchase price without quibbling. Very poor manufacturer support, the result of which is I won't be buying their products again. -
Lack of vibrancy and general spark
Jeez. I wish I lacked vibrancy and spark as much as he does.
