1.
He's got most of your old basses
Dear god, my reputation precedes me!
2.
Has Dave Swift ever played the same bass twice?
Err, yes, but have a look at his incredible bass collection on his website ( http://www.daveswift...ges/basses.html ) and you'll see why he may have some difficulty choosing...
3. I've got a Letts 5-string Scroll bass already... yours is very pretty though.... B-E-A-D-G-C... errr... F??
4. A very pretty thing, but a few too many strings for my poor brain to handle... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/7-String-Custom-Made-Letts-Bass-Guitar-with-Aguilar-OBP3-preamp-and-Hard-Case/400635442727
5. It's a Roadster body, but the headstock looks not quite right - could be either a custom neck, or an early prototype...
6. Now listed on eBay, so only available for sale here if reserve has not been reached.
7. Looking out the box and manual and heading for eBay...
8. Sorry, I'm after a straight sale only, which I admit may be a bit of a long shot this close to Christmas. Plenty of interest, but it's still here. Go on, make me an offer - I can only say no!
9.
I am on the lookout for a combo but was thinking nearer 250 watts. The TC electronic BG250.... are available for under £300 new. How does this compare?
Never played through the BG250, but it looks pretty good - that said, what the Roland may lack in output (and either of them are going to need an extension speaker to get properly loud) it makes up for with quite a few more features - have a look at the specs: http://www.roland.co.uk/products/productdetails.aspx?p=1144 The cheapest I could find the TC was £310 - who's selling them cheaper than that??
10.
A great bloke to deal with
Thanks Mark - likewise!
11.
Couldn't you say it's a 2-tone fretboard and looks different according to the ambient light?
Might have been worth a try, but unfortunately the other one's not a Cherryburst!!
12. Very, very nice. I had the slightly later dark brown fretless version in the early 80's. What's the approximate weight?
13. This needs to go - last bump before eBay. I mean it this time!
14. For sale is a Lakland 55-02 Deluxe in Cherryburst with a maple board. Made in 2007 (Korean) with Lakland pickups and preamp, very good condition. The only flaws are a small ding in the neck at the 9th fret, and some scratches at the base of the headstock, both courtesy of the previous owner. Included is a non-original, rather worn but perfectly serviceable light tweed hard case. The reason for the sale is that I have another one of these with a rosewood board, so one has to go before 'er indoors notices. Now SOLD pending payment. Thanks for all your interest!
15.
I used them in Lakland JO5 so I guess DJ5 should work too.
I put a set of Delanos of exactly the same dimensions in my DJ5 and they were a perfect fit.
16. Gone. Obviously didn't bother someone. Still a bargain!
17. I used to have one of these many years ago... not half bad basses.
18. Also, why is picture no. 2 of a 4-string bass??
19. They're OK basses, not Status's finest hour though. Nice enough to play, but a pretty gutless sound IIRC, and certainly not the 'Status sound' if that's your thing. I suppose there might be reinforcement bars in the neck, but otherwise there's not a scrap of graphite in them. Cheap enough though. Who am I kidding, it's horrible!!
20.
Oh bugger. I was about to fly to Hungary and arrange a lorry....
I've actually had that very thing happen twice with eBay sales, where they would have a 'friend' call me and arrange to come and pick it up in a fortnight and pay cash on collection... I never took the chance...
21. I just bought a lovely Lakland 55-02 deluxe from Fred, and it was a very good experience - excellent communication throughout, and it arrived promptly, very well packaged. Thanks Fred!
22. Why is this still here?? A great bass at a fantastic price - the Jeannie's plate must have cost £50 on its own. I already have two 55-02's (sorry, showing off now) and I'd have this one as well if there wasn't a fair likelihood of a black eye from the missus if I did... Have a bump. Someone needs to buy this quick and save me from an ass whooping courtesy of 'er indoors.
