1. Just sold Ziggy some strings. Great communication, very fast payment, a pleasure to deal with. Thanks!
2.
I have used the older 100 for pub gigs with and without an extension cab, better with the additional cab, but a tidy piece of kit at a miniscule price bump, buy it now.
Thanks for the endorsement Brian!
3.
Try contacting Mark Stickley at Bass Direct. I am not sure if he has any, but he can probably get access as the sales team at NS Design still has some ties to Spector. (Interesting story for another time.) These basses are a perfect blend between NS Design headless innovations and the Kubicki style string in the headstock. They look great, and play well. They are especially well suited to fingerstyle players as the piezo system in these is superior.
Thanks for that - I'lll give him a call.
4. If (a big 'if', admittedly) the US list prices are anything to go by, it should be around £1700 over here, maybe less as it's made in the Czech Republic. House Music are listed as a distributer, but I've had no response from them so far. Are they still in business?
5. Anyone seen on in the UK yet, or tried one out? Looks interesting...
6. One set paid for and gone, another pending, so only 2 sets left... better be quick if you want one!
7.
Pino has always been my favourite player. And, unfashionable as it may be, it's his fretless playing that I love. Now, his playing alone (on Call Me, Shoot Down The Moon, NY Minute, Playhouse, Wish It Would Rain Down, Do You Remember etc etc) makes my jaw go slack. But what makes my jaw actually hang open is when I consider that, without formal theory training and whatnot, he had the maturity, at the tender age of 26, after playing bass for only 9 years, to engineer classical Stravinsky ideas into a pop song - Wherever I lay My Hat. It takes a particular type of artistic mind to do that. Whoever reckoned there are thousands like Pino Palladino - I think not. CB
Seconded.
8. I think you'd be hard pressed to get 120 watts out of a 1x12" - there is a extension speaker output on the back.
9. @ MarshallBTB - I usually use EXL170-5's (45/65/80/100/125) and they're a blue pack with a pink circle, unless they've changed recently. The EXL220-5's are the same nickel strings, just a slightly lighter gauge.
10. Blimey. I though these would fly. Oh well, they've been sitting in a drawer for a year. £15 each posted then....
11. 4 packs of D'Addario EXL220-5 40/125 gauge 5-string sets, brand new and unopened. A steal, surely. Just don't call me Shirley. And that gag really doesn't work written down. ALL SOLD! Thanks folks.
12. I was watching Only Fools And Horses yesterday (an episode called Stage Fright) and the bass player in the cabaret band backing Del Boy's girlfriend Raquel was playing a Steinberger. Just thought I'd mention it!
13. Yorkshire blancmange? Is it strawberry or chocolate??
14. Hi Arnoldo - my old Update! I bought this bass new from the Gallery in 2004, Arnoldo bought it from me the following year, and it looks in just as good condition as the day I sold it. This man looks after his basses. Good luck with the sale.
15. It's pretty much impossible to avoid all string noise, but it probably has more to do with your chosen eq settings/bass/pickups. Try rolling off some of the high mids.
16.
Can this hang in a band setting, volume wise?
I've used it in rehearsals just with the internal 12" and it was great. It depends how loud you play, of course! You would probably need an extension cab for louder gigs, but it's got a surprising amount of power. The tech specs are here: http://www.roland.co.uk/products/productdetails.aspx?p=1144
17. I bought Mike's pedal in April, but as it turned out I didn't use it much. As luck would have it, Mike really missed it, so he bought it back off me again! A great guy to deal with, buy/sell/trade with complete confidence.
18. Sorry - both just sold today!
19. A wonderfully original, inventive, expressive bass player. The live version of 'Mr Big' is number 1 on my list of best bass solos of all time...
20.
fancy a 2x10 neo ?
No, sorry, I'm looking for a straight sale.
21. A cracking bass, I'm amazed it's still here! Have a bump...
22. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c918A5OzRqM Quite understated playing here, but somehow always holding your attention, in spite of the camera focussing mostly on the gorgeous Ms. Paris...
23.
Utter bollocks.

That's bordering on trolling man. Where is your evidence for this assertion?
As Christopher Hitchins once said, "That which can be asserted without evidence, can be dismissed without evidence." The robust language is simply proof of his belief in his position.
24.
Jump-up-and-down-with-your-friends is a great term for a particular kind of folky thing that always does well. You might say it's a vacancy in folky music that's always there for the taking. What the pogues did really.
Bloody hell - we've only gone and discovered a new genre... JUADWYF. A bit like NWOBHM, but with less spandex.
