  5. [quote name='AM1' timestamp='1414868822' post='2594233'] Dennis Dunaway. What an under-rated bass player. Not just for tone but also phrasing and groove. Here's an example, such a simple bassline but with amazing feel and a classic example of a bassline with composition which fits the song perfectly and compliments the drums. 8. Bit green on all this......having troubles with our present Bassist and I was going to drop onto Bass was looking for cheap option.....as the Guitar Combo is very tatty and probably not worth selling or trading.
  9. Thanks for that......not a major issue at the moment, cheers.

  13. Hi Folks, Before I go ahead and take the plunge any thoughts on a 4 String Peavey Grind. .....wants £145 for it......are they nice to play.....ie....comfortable neck ect.....I want a Bass that will cover my needs for Classic Rock Covers ect any thoughts appreciated, thanks.
  14. Personally I couldn't be in a Band if it didn't gig......that's why I do this still got the same enthusiasm as I had 30 odd years ago when I first started in this game....long live Rock n Roll and long live 'LIVE MUSIC'.
  15. Thanks again everyone for the input.... certainly some interesting points.
  16. Thankyou both look the biz......apparently it sorts ground earthing problem which is quite common in some P and J Basses.....but I'm very happy with mine.....cheers.
  17. Done some research apparently the wire strip solves the bad ground earthing which can hinder some P and J Basses must admit it is very quiet with no hum or other noises and seems to work a treat......but thanks for the replies and happy playing......cheers Bob.
  18. It's a creamy off White colour.....was the earth strip between bridge and pick up never seen this but Karl reckons it's quite common.....not in the least bit worried just curious.
  19. Cheers Karl......looks like a 62 reissue serial number and crafted in Japan ect.....it's a kinda creamy off white with tort pic gaurd.....nice Bass, take the gaurd off and it's all nicely routed out no unsightly gouging out ect......looks pretty cool with or without gaurd....it's not in pristine nick bit battered but I like it and for £300 it's a steal and I kinda like it's battered appearance.
