I have both the Pro Go and the X series (which I also picked up in a sale a few years back) The Pro Go has a lot more storage and much better padding but is a fair bit heavier. It feels absolutely indestructible as well. A great bag..... I find the front pocket in the X series not so easy to use and it's a bit short of storage. It has an odd G shaped hook which tends to come undone unless it's stuffed. I don't think its worth the full price though. (Theres a top of the line Fender FB1225 bag that I have which is a lot better and cheaper) And the TGI Extreme is good as well.

If you take a look at the other items he has for sale on his ebay there's a 'Nate Mendel style' P bass. Which he will make 'roadworn' at an additional cost. I wonder if he'll make a better job of it.....And his feedback makes it look like he's a trader with plenty of sold items - mainly Fender basses. He knows exactly what he's up to.... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/325823504735?hash=item4bdc98215f:g:GFUAAOSwoxFlDE0a

Looking at the advert on eBay it seems a bit odd that he has all the case candy and even the correct gig bag. Some of the dings look about in the right place. Could it be that it is a proper roadworn and someone has had a go at 'improving' it?

I would say that you've been done.... looks like a belt sander job on a normal Mexican Jazz to me. Could do with some more and better pictures of the whole bass though.

I'm pretty much done with GAS now. Over the years I've been lucky enough to snag most things that have caught my interest and given them a whirl - I'm at the point now where I have some great sounding gear that works for me and everything is useable/interchangeable in any gig if something goes pop. I have 3 basses - a Zon Sonus Import that would be impossible to replace as they're so rare, a Cort A4 Plus which is just astonishing vfm and a Warwick Corvette Proline with a few upgrades on it. All 3 get gigged and rotated regularly. I love Musicman basses but they never work live for me, I don't really do Fenders or passive stuff. The only thing that might interest me would be a German Warwick Fortress possibly if i got bored with the Corvette but they don't pop up very often within my mental budget and I'm generally happy with the Vette. Main gigging amp is a Mesa BB750 and I have a spare one of those too. A Quilter BB800 covers off lightweight or home use duties and an Orange 4 Stroke fits somewhere between those 2 camps. Cabs are a couple of Barefaced 1x12's that I've had for years and would never have a need to change - they'll handle any gig I'm likely to do. The pedalboard is settled now I've got rid of all the programable stuff and gone down the knobs route. I also managed to snag a spare wireless unit to back up my fave and long discontinued Sony DWZ unit. Lessons would be a much better investment if i had any desire to improve anything now

Our singer tried that. Went straight over the pool table and out the door into the street.....

Here's a tiny bit

Yep. Totally analogue performance from the band and a whole load of winging it from DLR. They were cooking...

Motley Crue opened it. You can clearly see me in the crowd - I was the one with the long dark hair and a black leather biker jacket....

This just popped up on You Tube. (May get removed so be quick if you like Van Halen) Great onstage angle of the band in their prime period including loads of Magic Mike Anthony and his great backing vocals. Stage invasions and just tons of swagger and energy and I was there ..

A bit of steam might do the trick

How much did you pay? That's probably the biggest tell tale. The smart scammers just do them a couple of quid cheaper than RRP, the dumber ones do them for £20

I have 4... A Mesa Big Block 750 is my main gigging amp. Love it. Another Mesa Big Block 750. They're not easy to find so I grabbed it as a backup when one became available. Orange 4 Stroke. Simple, huge clear rock wallop, great EQ and stoopidly loud if I need it. Obtained it in a swap for a GK 700RB that I wasn't ever using. Happy to gig it if I can't be bothered to cart the Mesa around. Quilter BB800. The only Class D that stuck with me. Tiny and lives in my gig bag as emergency cover. Useful to have the headphone out and aux in as my main amps don't have those. All through a pair of Barefaced Big Baby cabs that I've had for ages.

Chap - play something we know! Singist - it works better if we play something we know!

Just buy them in bulk from the USA? Last time i did it 6 sets of Hi Beams came to $129 inc shipping. As long as you keep it below £130 (I seem to remember, check up on that amount) you don't need to pay import duty.

I'm not so sure that it is.... the drummer sorted it out and i ordered the backdrop stand.....
-
Ours isn't a heavy vinyl one. It's a super light, fireproof blackout fabric. The drummer had it made - he's a bit particular about having decent kit and persuaded us to spring £300 on it. To be fair to him it was a good call. It packs up really small and is nice and light which means we don't need a heavy duty stand to hang it on.

We have one of these and extend the width by using a couple of tent poles bungeed along the top sticking out each side depending on the width we need. The flat feet are much better than the usual tripod ones as you can slide them under amps if required. You don't need to shift the drummer forward at all. https://www.printedtoday.co.uk/product/backdrop-stands/ Bungee balls are on Amazon and the 4" ones are the right length. It gives us this at its widest....
