1. A Queensryche song like I Dont Believe in Love or maybe Breaking the Silence from Operation Mindcrime. Or maybe something from Empire. Eddie Jackson is my all time fave bass player mainly because of those 2 albums - what a gritty tone!
2.
Thanks for the feedback guys, unfortunately I think the gear your selling is a little out of my price range, perhap the Hydrive cab isn't but my ashdown head it the full width one, the size of the 2x10 so I'd like something close to that size. The Harley Benton is looking good then, I do use some effects but its more to fill the sound then to go for it. Oh and I forgot to mention I also will be playing my EUB through it so looking for something that's no mellow but warm-ish. Spotted the GK mbe212, which is definitely interesting, very light; again anyone got/used one? http://www.thomann.de/gb/gallien_krueger_212mbe_8_ohms.htm Cheers
I have the GK 212 - highly recommended. Nice and light too. Tweeter is rubbish but sounds ok with it switched off.
3. I have a Roland Bass Cube 20xl up for sale at the mo' if thats any good for you?
4. Pair of Gallien Krueger 212MBE cabs here. Only really need 1 for most gigs but having 2 looks scarier
5. A vote for the Mono GS1 here
6. Heres a soundclip of a Fender Blacktop Jazz with its twin p's in flat out mode! Sounds like it'll fit your style of music pretty well https://www.box.com/s/0giiip2y1612vfjh9dix

8. Found a good soundclip if anyones curious about the tone - its really sums it up Have a listen here:- https://www.box.com/s/0giiip2y1612vfjh9dix
9. Useless without piccies!
10. Thomann, GAK and dv247 have all been good for me. Had a warranty issue with a product from Thomann which was resolved very swiftly and with zero fuss.
11. If its anything similar, my 424x has a lovely resonance to it. You can feel it acoustically. Its really hot in output and has a zing and mid punch that ive not heard in many other basses. Both pickups are really usable and it doesnt have that jazz 'dropout' effect when both pickups are on. Its lovely and growly with a passive pup organic sound. The only issue you may have is the neck. Coming from your Ibby, its gonna feel a lot chunkier. It was the only thing i had doubts about when i bought mine as i was used to slimmer necks. In reality, it took 30 mins to get used to it and now i love it. Feels like you can grab it and wring it when youre digging in Bass Direct and GAK had some good deals on recently i believe.
12. I have a 424x - its little brother - and its a fantastic bass. Frequently use it instead of my Spector for my covers band. Still keep thinking about picking up a 1024 as a posher option.
13. Have a "still seeing a black square on my ipad" type bump
14. Theres def no linky as far as i can see Maybe its an ipad thingy
15. Clear winner in the pounds per note competition!
16. Is it me, or does that jazz look like a big black square?
17. Maybe its just the same couple of basses being relisted too
18.
So you think it might just be iffy?
Nope, i never said that. Just noticed a pattern with them over the last few months.

20. Winger - Karma Blinding bass sound! And some of the songs are pretty good - not what Winger used to trot out really. First 6 tracks are the standouts.
