Aright, two Q's, will this fit in the standard Spector hardcase and are you accepting trades/part exchanges?
I dont think it will fit in a shaped Spector case - i had an NS2004 which looks a similar shape but it wouldnt fit in a Euro case because the top horn was a different shape and the body was wider.

Chas n Dave, talented boys & another Yamaha BB player!
Mudpup replied to iconic's topic in General Discussion
Chas's daughter Juliet was the keyboard player in one of my old bands about 20 years ago. She joined the band and we didnt know who her dad was until she said we could rehearse at her house. Her dad looked vaguely familiar. All her family were lovely people - really friendly. We used to rehearse at his cottage/barn in Essex and his wife would make us tea and toast at 1 in the morning. I remember sitting in the front room one night after a practice and noticing a bass propped up in the inglenook fireplace. Had a look and it was a really old precision that was all scorched and bowed - probably worth a few quid if he wasnt using it as a poker. The house was rammed with musical history. Chas and Dave used to kick us out of the barn and move in with a crate of cigars and brandy for a week when they were writing. They would emerge when a new album was written and we were allowed back in. -
Tom bought a cab from me. Good comms and easy to deal with. Cheers mate!

SOLD Cant get on with these strings so took them off the bass after 3 gigs and a little home evening tinkling. Still sound new. Elixir Stainless 4 string set. 105 - 45 gauge. No fraying or pick damage at all. Please note - these are the newer Stainless ones, not the Nickle ones. Taken off a Spector Euro 4 so NOT suitable for Fender style 4 in a row headstocks. Needs to be for a 2 per side headstock. Originally cost £32 Selling for £17 posted.

You're right - the 424 feels really stiff. Thats the first impression i had - it feels bombproof and really solid. Really resonant acoustically too which is probably a byproduct of the rigidity. Makes my Spector feel quite fragile.
Stingray is naturally a little scooped (2EQ). Tried all sorts of EQ settings on the bass during the evening. LH500 was set 2-10-2 (close to flat on a Fender tone stack)
Those settings work fine for me with 2 x GK MBE212 cabs. Sounds like somethings not right elsewhere - you should be knocking people over at full tilt.

I wonder if you may have a problem with your cab. I too have an LH500 and i play in a bloody loud rock band (loudest ive ever been in for 20years with a crazy geetard and powerful drummer) and ive never gone near maxing it out. It would take the walls down if i did. Just out of interest, what are your tone settings on the amp - you need the mid over 2 o'clock ideally. The volume drops quite dramatically if you set it at 12pm or below.

Dropped in to PMT in Romford last weekend intending to buy some sort of Fender/Squier Jazz bass. Tried about 10 between £200 and £800 quid. Bob suggested i try this. I bought it. Head and shoulder better than anything else i tried and its ousted my Spector Euro as my gigging bass. Cant believe how good it is for such a (relatively) cheap price.
Welcome to the club I love the BB424X and you got it in the best colour! All types BB are pretty special in the sense that they punch way above their weight. Can you post any cheeky pics of it up?
Here you go -

I had an Ohm combo back in the 80's - think it was a GE140 or something - and it was excellent. Really punchy with my Aria RSB Deluxe 2 bass.

Remember, an extra cab will usually mean that you dont need to push your amp as hard as with one cab. If youre not maxed out at the moment it shouldnt be a problem. Welcome to pop round and have a try and a cup of tea with no obligation. You'll not find a cab as good as this for this sort of money amd it really sounds great. Looks like youre fairly local - i'm near Harlow.

Its a chunk cheaper than it was a few months ago
