Andy Baxter Bass used to be there. He's in Leeds now.... There was also a place opposite Brick Lane Bikes next door to Brewdog on Bethnal Green Road. About 100 yards from Boxpark. They've gone as well...

I would say between £500 and £600 depending on condition. And a bargain at those prices....

I wouldn't bet on carbon fibre being much lighter than an ABS one - the latches and rails will likely be the same so it's just a few fairly small panels that will benefit. The bigger the box then the more benefit you'll achieve so a fairly small box won't save much. And it will cost a shedload more. I work in the bicycle trade and it's a common misconception that carbon is lighter than aluminium. It isn't. You can build a much lighter alloy bike if you use the right material and builder. Carbon is used mainly because you can tune the stiffness directionally with it and people will pay more for it. If you unplug the connecting leads between the preamp and the amp you'll probably save more weight.

Now sold.... Positive Grid Spark 40 modelling combo Bluetooth thingy in mint boxed condition. No tolex peeling on this baby! This does more than I could possibly ever bore you with here! It's a modelling amp for bass and guitar, has loads of amp sims, effects and editable presets, it's a Bluetooth jam along with Spotydotty thing, drum machine, it shows chords whilst you're playing with it and all sorts of other shenanigans. Google it! https://www.musicradar.com/reviews/positive-grid-spark-40 I'm far too untalented to make the most of it so it's up for sale. Collection or localish delivery Essex/Herts/E London border. (Can throw in a lovely black Fender Classic Lacquer P bass for free as long as you buy the case it's in for an extra £800 as well if you like) Thanks for looking 🙂

Don't take too much gear. They've put a new little stage in that's a funny shape and it's 'compact'. Lovely crowd of regulars in there usually!

Played there before @Lozz196?

We were inspired enough by this one to stick it in the set list - goes down a storm with the laydees of a certain age. It's a random bunch of mildly famous Scandinavian metal heads doing guilty pleasure 80's stuff. I love 'em....

Buy off the classifieds here and if you don't get on with it you can flip it with minimal loss. It's actually really difficult to buy a bad bass nowadays so as long as you stick to a brand name you're unlikely to go wrong. Something like a Squier Precision or Fender Mexican Precision will always work in a rock band. Other names that tend to be good quality are Cort, Ibanez, Lakland, G&L and Sterling as a starting point. Welcome to the money pit!

I'm getting on well with Happy Ears having tried a few other lower/mid priced options. They seemed to have a more even frequency reduction and I find them comfortable. Not expensive either. You can buy the Discovery Pack to check sizing - I ended up using the large black ones and the white medium ones fitted the guitarist. https://www.happyearsearplugs.com/uk/shop/ -
After a traumatic week at work being made redundant I needed a good night out and some cheering up. This did the trick nicely. We sacrificed all musical integrity and pumped out an evening of rocky crowd pleasers in a sports bar type pub local to me. Dance floor full from 30 seconds in. Opened with She Sells Sanctuary and didn't put them down until Killing in the Name Of.. as the 4th encore. A week of extremes for me - on the floor on Tuesday and high as a kite by Sunday morning.

I suppose if you're buying at full price you're expecting absolute perfection. The smallest blemish makes it B stock. Certainly doesn't bother me buying anything that's likely to pick up gig wear on the first gig at a reduced cost

It's usually a few minor things such as wonky stitching or small marks in the leather. They usually put some pics up of any damage with each individual item. My 2 arrived and I couldn't actually see much wrong with them. I can't see much wrong with this one
