  1. If that was from a certain recording studio in Essex then it's not a true indication of it's value - everything they list is hugely overpriced and they have a few Mesa amps advertised. As an example they have a Mesa Big Block 750 up for £1500 - the realistic market value of those is somewhere around £500/600 I think. I would probably put the M2000 in the same ballpark. The MPulse that pop up occasionally (BB750, M600 and M360) seem to be around that pricepoint recently except the Titan which usually commands a little more if you ever find one. I have experience of the BB750 and MPulse 600 and love them to bits - probably my favourite amps ever. These were the next generation after the M2000 and were simplified a little as people said the M2000 was a bit over complicated to use. (Make sure it has the footswitch included)
  2. Watching with interest....
  3. I reckon a bass player did the mix on that live footage. Not everyone's cup of tea but it's filthy 😂
  4. Yep agreed, love them. Not difficult to play but really cleverly done and very original. Sometimes they don't work on their own but when you stick them in the band format everything comes together. And that tone....
  5. That's The Iconic Wheatsheaf in Dunstable. We played it once about 5 years ago. Little old chap called Maurice runs it and insists on trying to get on a mic with his harmonica regardless of what sort of music you play I seem to remember. Lovely guy but seemed a touch crazy to us. We went down well and they wanted us back but we took a band decision not to return (partly due to having to climb over a load of tracksuited baby toting chavs to get the gear in and we struggled to fit in the space allocated for the band)
  6. I had exactly this bass. Bought new in 1987 and sold it about 10 years ago on here. The colour is called Lipstick Red I believe and it has a lovely pearly tinge to it.
  7. Maybe you have the second version. Mine is the original one
  8. Mine was fine straight out if the box. I haven't had to plug it in to a computer at all???
  9. There's a Mesa MPulse 600 in the classifieds on here for a steal of a price. I would bite his arm off.....(It's not mine BTW)
  10. Total bargain for a great amp- this should have sold in about 20 minutes
  11. I'm sure you're on her bucket list. Don't Give Up 😁
  12. At least you still have a chance of snagging a ZZB if you keep your eyes open...
  13. I would think you need to tell the police to reopen it, tell them where the bass is and get on it pronto before it 'disappears'
  14. It's not Marcus Millers, it's Mark Millers according to the advert. Don't be fooled.....😉
  15. There are a few threads on Talkbass. I was looking at one of these a while back as I'm a fan of old school rock amps but there seems to be a lot of reliability issues with them (unless of course it's the same 4 people having tube issues posting all over the web). In the end I arrived at a Mesa Big Block 750 and love it to bits but they don't show up very often. Recently I swapped another amp for an Orange 4 Stroke and am enjoying that as much as my Mesa. It sounds huge and has a great eq. Might be worth having a look around for one of those?
  16. That is truly shocking 🤮
  17. And i always wanted one of these back in the day. It's an Aria ZZB which they also did in a blue sunburst or 50/50 black white graphic. I wasn't brave enough though and ended up with a safe looking Aria RSB Deluxe 2 instead...
  18. Gotta go the full hog crackle finish with pointy basses from the 80's. I wonder where they've all gone now?
  19. There were loads of undiscovered gems that used to come into the shop back then that just got totally overlooked by the general public. This was a perfect example. I remember selling a few copies to the regulars that came in and were always up for listening to something different but the public never cottoned on to them. Here's another example - a band called Device which was Holly Knights side project (she wrote a load of big songs for Tina Turner, Bryan Adams, Pat Benatar and suchlike in the 80's). Proper 80's production on here.
  20. I was a manager for Our Price Records when this album came out in 1988. The title track Homelands played flat out through the shop Quad hifi before we opened up was always an enjoyable experience. The production on the album is excellent. It brings back a flavour of the music I was enjoying back then. Elements of Frankie, Roachford, Missing Persons, Strangeways, TheFixx, Go West and FM are all floating around in there. Aaah, the days of bad haircuts, electronic kits, snares with loads of reverb and big chorussy guitars - where did they go......
  21. Zombie thread revival post Found this.....what a great version...
  22. Nutshell 🙂
  23. One of these Nux Mighty Plugs..... Rechargeable tiny bluetooth headphone amp for silent practice - just plug it into your jack socket, connect your phone (Spotify/YouTube) via bluetooth, stick your headphones in and you're good to go. Amp Sims and effects included. It's a fab bit of kit for £58 and he can practice anywhere. https://www.gak.co.uk/en/nux-mighty-plug-headphone-amplifier-with-bluetooth-/954524
