  1. Do you have any YouTube links to the sort of sound you're looking for?
  2. I was looking at that too - it popped up on Farsebook Marketplace. How you come to the conclusion that butchering a nice bass adds a chunk to the value is beyond me. Still, GLWTS if you're on here....
  3. Medium sized music pub in Essex last night for us. It used to be a bit hit or miss there - we've built up a following now so it's been a better turn out in recent years but we weren't sure how the weather would affect it last night. It's still about minus 5 here and plenty of icy roads. Our guitarist was away, our regular dep decided to go to Vietnam on a break at fairly short notice and we ended up with one of our other dep pool guys on guitar. He's awesome and I always enjoy it when he's onboard - a total pro and it showed on the night. We had sent him some video of a recent gig and he nailed all the links and little personal bits we do in the set. You could see he had been woodshedding for us and he's a really lovely humble guy with a great presence on stage too. Here's a link to his page if anyone wanted to throw some work his way https://simonjpinto.com/ Anyway, how did the gig go? Looked worryingly quiet at about 9pm, filled up a bit by 9.30, we started at 9.45 and it was absolutely rammed by 10pm. Everyone was up for it and dancing from the start but you know when you get a feeling that it could get a bit lairy? There were a bunch of young lads showing off for the girls in the crowd with all the spider dancing and drink spilling shenanigans in the second set and we had to stop mid song about 20 mins from the end of the set to ask them to calm it down a bit as we could see it was intimidating the rest of the crowd (They have security at the venue and always used to put someone inside near the band on busier nights but for some reason it didn't happen last night) Anyway, we restarted and the youngsters had been respectful and slowed up a bit. All good. Then one song later something kicked off in the middle of the crowd further back - I could see people getting shoved around and called a halt to it all again hoping security would hear us stop and come in for a look. They did but by the time they had sourced, calmed and ejected the culprits 10 minutes later we had decided to call it a day. The way our set is structured means it really picks up momentum and we needed to bring everyone down a bit rather than build them up (Drunk chavs showing off and Killing in the Name of/Enter Sandman was going to cause more problems). We only missed the last couple of songs anyway and thought it was safer for everyone - the floor was a sea of beer and someone was going to get hurt. Having said all that we totally enjoyed the gig, played really well, sound was great allegedly, dep worked out really well, the crowd really enjoyed it (and stayed safe) and I was home by about 1.30. A good night.....
  4. I didn't buy mine to emulate anything else (I would have just bought what it emulated otherwise) I picked it up hoping It had the flexibility to get close to some sounds in my head that I could use in a few different songs within the band. I particularly wanted a synthy fuzz with a large clean derriere for Buck Rogers and a Garbage song we do and also an MXR Di/ sort of sound for Slither and some Timmy C noises for Audioslave stuff. Someone had already had a go at creating those types of in the Neuro App thing so it was an easy place to start from, tweak a bit and save to the 3 toggle switch settings. It also saved me a load of cash buying 3 or 4 other pedals just to use in a couple of songs. Oh and also because it has knobs. I'm liking having knobs after having a few Zoom things that needed menu diving to tweak stuff. Knobs are a good thing 🙂 I love knobs.....
  5. Did it go 'So here it is Merry Christmas, everybody's having fun, Look to the future etc etc....) Cos if it does he's cheating 😂
  6. That's a steal isn't it. Lots of love for those things on here
  7. The very early ones can be identified by having dots in between the SUB on the headstock. Early = S.U.B Later = SUB I think it was just the first year or so of production. Mine was an early series wired one and it sounded better to my ears than any of the subsequent USA 'proper' Stingrays I had afterwards.
  8. Just buy it, they're awesome bits of kit. You can make it as complicated or not as you see fit. All the benefits of sub menus, apps and digital editing but with knobs that you can adjust on the fly. In fact, I'm thinking about getting a SA Atlas to go with mine
  9. I think you'll find that this is actually an A4 Plus FMMH model... A total monster of a bass and stunning value for money - I have one and love it to bits. So comfy to play with a brilliant neck. And with the upgraded preamp someone needs to buy this!
  10. Me too - Windows 11, Chrome on a laptop
  11. Lurking in the background....the monster
  12. I've never owned a Warwick but always had a hankering to give a Corvette a go at some point
  13. Yeh, spot on @la bam
  14. The one we have has a wired remote and you can vary the output level, duration and frequency of the output. It also has an option to have a constant haze but you can again vary the output down to almost nothing to flat out choking everyone. It's just a little Beamz one but it's probably the most essential bit of kit we have. https://electromarket.co.uk/beamz-f900-fazer-haze-machine-soft-case
  15. Now sold 🙂 Found this in the lockup whilst we were having a clear out. Surplus to requirements, hasn't been used for quite a while but powers up and works fine so needs to be rehomed. Auto run or DMX controlled and 4 separate moonflower lights on a gig bar. Quite a good way to get some interesting lights going on stage without faffing about! Collection only please
  16. No we deffo don't need any more kit. I just need to find some time and space to set everything up in a room and create the scenes on the Bigfoot DMX. We will be able to lock the Sweepers pointing downwards at an angle, synchronise the drum and front light colours and then just have the moving heads and lasers creating some motion for some songs.
  17. Here's our setup in a pub gig.... 2 ADJ Sweeper beams on stands at the rear running a slow auto program. 2 ADJ VPars run as uplighters in the drums set to a slow fade auto program 2 ADJ Vbars on the floor at the front point upwards set up on a slow auto fade just using 3 colours They are all just left running but I can black out the rear lights and change the program on a remote switch if I want. Minimal effort required. There are 2 lasers that we have either side pointing inwards as well set to auto programs. There are 2 Chauvet Duo moving heads on the floor in front of the amps pointing up. They are linked to a Bigfoot DMX floor controller that I run. I can change colours and programs via that. It's a really useful bit of kit. The plan is to add the rear sweepers and the drum lights to the DMX floor controller eventually so we can get some scenes going. Oh and there's a hazer that I run on a remote but I went a bit mad with it here... And having a backdrop makes it all look a bit better I think. Nothing worse than fighting against a telly or dartboard in the background.
  18. Get a hazer..... It'll make everything look 10 times better. Don't have everything flashing all over the place on sound active programs or fast programs. It's fatiguing for the audience to watch. Give us a better idea of what you actually have - led bars, spots, floods etc And can you be bothered to learn DMX programming or buy a controller? Oh and do you want to take on the additional work of being the guy that has to do it 😉
  19. I could get 4 gigs out of a set of stainless ones on average. If it was a real sweaty one it would be 3 gigs i reckon. Try the Warwick Reds from Thomann or Gewar4 Music
  20. I use these as they are under a tenner a set and I'm a zingy type of guy. I kill strings in about 4/5 gigs tops and these last as well as anything else I've tried for 2 or 3 times the price. Dr Hi Beams or Dunlop Super Brights feel a bit nicer but all I'm going to do is beat the poopie out of them on a Saturday night in a pub - the subtle nuances are lost on me, the crowd and my bandmates so price is key.
  21. Brilliant pedal GLWTS....
  22. Friday night was a pub gig in a good local music venue. There were two other great bands playing in the other two main venues in town so I had a feeling it might be a quiet night with the local crowd being split 3 ways. I was right - we probably only had about 40/50 people in but we played a blinder, had loads of positive feedback after from the punters, staff and owners and went away really happy. On reflection I think it could have been one of our best gigs from a player's perspective. We chucked in a load of linked songs that all went perfectly, mixed the set up a bit, the sound was great and everyone said how relaxed they felt about it. A good night.....
  23. Seen this before?????? Really highlights the vocals and song itself. I'm not too sure about Vinnie on guitar here though - he's never quite nailed the feel of the band in my opinion.
