One of my major claims to fame.......
Wyatt was the drummer in a band of mine when he was about 17 for a couple of years. He was really good. I think he's living his dream now with that radio job, he always wanted to be involved in the rock scene 😊
I've never heard a bass solo that has engaged me apart from maybe this one. I suppose it's more of a performance piece rather than a solo as such so maybe that's why I'm ok with it. Billy did used to do it live as a showpiece though. Bordering on classical and with a bunch of new school techniques in there it was pretty ground breaking back in the day.
Pandemic artificially boosted demand, everyone who wanted a guitar probably bought one (we're having the same issues in the bicycle trade), biggest growth was in entry level and custom shop (so USA production has flatlined) and they're spending more money/time on Jackson as the shredders are buying again but demand has dropped everywhere else. And all the dealers are now overstocked in a stalled/reversing economy so there's no mainstream demand at the moment
It was a commercial decision for me. I could either keep buying single units from the market place on here for £50-100 until I found one I liked in a gig situation or buy a brand new Aftershock for £150 which would probably have a bunch of them in there already plus loads of other stuff.
It's more fun than a bag of squirrels on speed. Very giggable with editable presets and a WYSIWYG mode as well if you want to fiddle on the fly.
Last night's action shot....
A couple of Barefaced BB3 cabs and a Mesa MPulse 600. A Quilter BB800 hiding on top just in case and me playing my Cort A4 being mesmerised by the intriguing carpet 😂
(Oh and mudpup junior hiding side stage after helping his old man shift everything as my back was broken. He's busy on his socials rather than appreciating his old mans rock godness)
Bargain of the year!
I had a TD650 that did the same distortion thing with the volume almost off but as soon as you turned it up a tiny amount it disappeared. My tech couldn't find anything wrong with it and I gigged it for years. I wouldn't worry about it at double the price.....
Here you go....GoPro clamped on a speaker pole footage. Just the kick and vox thru the PA - everything else is backline. If it's a stupidly loud gig and the camera is too close it gets a bit compressy but it's ok on most occasions. You kind of figure out the best place to put it as you go along.
