  1. I think you'd have to check out a Sire V7. It does a great 'normal' jazz thing and then you have the preamp as well. Lovely neck too.
  2. The very early Subs were wired in series. I think @40hz has my old one (might be wrong but I'll still buy it back off you if it is!!!) and it definitely sounds different to the Stingrays that I had. You can tell the earlier ones as they are marked up as a S.U.B on the headstock rather than a SUB.
  3. Report him to the Moderators on those sites if you can.....hopefully they'll block him
  4. Copper for me 😊
  5. I would agree with the BassBunny above. The little Yamaha Sessioncakes are excellent bits of kit. I have the red one and it's really good, easy to use and the sound quality is superb. Plug in some headphones and your phone and off you go - you can even record straight to your phone if you want to.....
  6. Yep that works. I used to use mine like that. Not perfect but passable
  7. Grabbed a couple of sets of strings from Lozz - perfect all the way through! Cheers :-)
  8. And it's plastic......which is ok if you like sitting in a pool of sweat but i would much prefer a fabric or leather one for £400
  9. Well, according to the links that the OP posted the USA ones are a bit lighter.......
  10. This.... Brilliant 😂
  11. Could I grab both packs of Warwick Reds please?
  12. He said in an interview a while back that Mr Tremonti uses some really mad tunings so he just tunes to whatever is necessary to fit in with him and reduce the need for moving around the board a bit. It would be funny if his tech gave him the wrong bass for a song - the chances of winging it would be reduced somewhat. And then there's the interesting time signatures in some parts of their songs........
  13. List your fave Christmas mash ups...... Here's one to kick off with :-)
  14. Yeh, i had one of those and a Stingray and you can get a lovely big fat but gritty sound from it. I've been thinking i muffed up selling it for a while now...
  15. You know me too well cuzzie 😂 He's been an Ashdown ABM user for years. Listen to where he sits against the kick drum on Brand New Start - is there such a thing as phat definition?
  16. You rarely see much about this guy (he usually keeps his head down) but a nice little 15 minute video was released recently which is a good watch if you like him/Alter Bridge. I've always liked his playing personally - he's not flashy but really finds a good space between the drums and guitars to sit in and if you really listen to what he plays he does some lovely stuff. And here is one of my favourite songs that shows off how he locks in really well - i always turn it up in the car and it triggers that 'knowing' grin we get that most non bass players miss :-)
  17. They're much more car interior friendly than the ABS ones, have a good useable pocket for leads and are really tough - i like them.....

  20. Can't you just become a supporting member on the Talkbass site? Doesn't that allow you to retail/promote on there?
  21. Yep - great clean amps and a bargain too
  22. Just this......(haven't picked my bass up in months now)
  23. But totally not a class D amp 😉
  24. I had an ABM500 Evo 3 a few years back and also an ABM600 Evo 4 a little more recently. The Evo 4 is a very different beast. I found it much more preferable to the older version - you could make it sound a lot tighter, the eq is more versatile and the power amp is much improved. Hugely hefty sounding but able to cut and sparkle as well. I found the old one a bit of a one trick pony and could never get it to cut in a mix - it just sounded woolly and undefined to me. The ABM600 Evo 4 is the only amp i've ever had that i regretted selling and i can see me having one again someday....
