Paul just bought my G&L L2500 bass Great bloke, easy to deal with, buys the coffee and a smooth transaction - what's not to like? π Thanks buddy!
-
Yay!!!!! Anyone want a Sandberg???? π
-
I'm in.... Just grabbed a 4 string L2000 a few weeks back so that's my new toy sorted just before we hit the start line - I reckon I can last a year without something else catching my eye. Although I have a festering thought about trying some different cabs floating around in my head.... Do I get extra points for finishing 2020 with less gear than I started with? Like if I sell another bass? π

Seriously, just rewind to post 2.....get a Zoom. It'll do most of that and it's very easy to use.....

What exactly do you want to do? Just silent practice using phones or running through the amp and into headphones? Is it just so you can hear yourself practice or do you need a more accurate sound? Do you specifically want to use the amp? Do you want to record anything whilst you're playing through the phones?

NOW SOLD Trying to thin the herd again....... Sandberg PM4 in Matte Blackburst fitted with a Hipshot Detuner. Good used condition with no issues other than a broken scratchplate screw and some light player wear. Slight buckleworm on the rear. It's an older one and I believe it was a custom order originally. I've had it about 5 years and it was a few years old when I got it. Matched headstock and block inlays, Glockenlang preamp and Sandberg pickups. Active or passive switching with a passive tone control. Lovely Jazz profile neck with some flame and I think its a Pau Ferro board as it looks a bit lighter than rosewood. Nicely set up with brand new strings too. Comes with a gig bag. Collection/demo near Stansted Airport or I can possibly deliver to Herts/Essex/Kent/Suffolk/NE London by negotiation. Sorry, no couriers.... Thanks for looking π

You def need the mids back in I think. A lot of the perceived volume comes from them. And try it with the compressor out too - when I had one I thought it killed the dynamics too much. The other thing is try cranking the gain up and don't worry about the VU meter, just use your ears for signs of clipping the input. I had a Spector when I had my ABM500 and tbh I felt it wasn't a great pairing - the amp seemed happier with a more old school bass like a Precision with a bit more mid in the inherent tone. The Spector always sounded a bit dry and clanky to my ears.

This will do the trick - massive bang for your buck! Audio input, headphone output, looper, drum machine and a zillion amp models and effects to play with. Use it on its own for silent practice or plug it in the amp jack input if you want to run it thru your amp. https://www.andertons.co.uk/zoom-b1on-bass-multi-effects-processor-b1on?lgw_code=16284-B1ON&gclid=CjwKCAiAi4fwBRBxEiwAEO8_Hrn9uksjr01rece3FvilmWxBpUyBM4gIeG5Pkh_RG-NVA7RxAXfvbBoCIjYQAvD_BwE

8ohm or 4 ohm cab (s)? Did you have the shape engaged? I found it sucked too much mid out and became spongy with it in - it didn't sound so loud. Did you try it with the valve switched off? May be the valve dying on you?

Is that your headphone rig?

Great gig in a fairly local pub for me :-) Its a place thats known more for Britpop/Oasis/Killers sort of stuff - most of the bands that play there fit into that bracket anyway - we're a bit rowdier and rockier than they are and i've thought that maybe its not the best place for us. But its been steadily growing there and last night was absolutely rammed out mainly with people that wanted to see us because we provide something a bit different. Everyone kicked off from the second song and didn't stop dancing and singing the whole night. And the regulars are lovely too - we've got to know them pretty well. Our regular geetarist was at the football up north so we had a dep for the night. He's absolute gold dust and a total fit for the band - he works on the material constantly, is totally reliable and a really nice bloke too. Loads of punters were filming him (he is a bit poop hot on the lead stuff) and all came up to say hello to him after - really nice to see :-) It's quite funny because he really enjoys depping for us and deps his own gigs out with his regular band to do our ones. So, a really nice one...........until i got home to find a missed call from the drummer. I called him back and found out he was stuck in the van with a flat battery with a 3 hour wait for the AA. I offered to drive back and help but he was settling in the cab with a sleeping bag. UPDATE! The AA actually took 8 hours to get to him......appalling service!!

Dan Reed - my all time fave band. Saw them many times back in the day including their first ever UK gig at the old Marquee. They'll be great with that line up And I'm off to see Alter Bridge and Shinedown on a few weeks π

It's the temptation to fiddle that's my problem...... Less knobs = less temptation ππ
-
I had a Thunderfunk and a BB800 at the same time. Sold the Thunderfunk though....too many knobs :-) .....i also think the Quilter had more slam about it and La Bam has described the ease of dialling in a sound perfectly above.
