Great to hear its beginning to work out again for you Blue - it just takes a few positive things to turn it around when everything drops off and it happens to all of us at some point. Stick with it buddy..... Re levels - yes we always do a 5 minute soundcheck with me stood out front for a listen. Check the kick sound, quick spin round all the drums with the bass, check both vocal levels in monitors then add in the mains, mix the 2 guitars in and then just a spin through the verse and chorus of Rosalie to check the lot. We never change it so it stays a consistent reference point. Literally takes 5 minutes and everyone knows exactly what to do.

Just a quick heads up.... Flare Audio are doing a 2 for the price of 1 discount at the moment on their Isolate range of earplugs - 2 sets for £25 My guitarist uses them and really rates them - I normally use Earpeace plugs but for this price i'm going to have a punt on the Flares Heres the link https://www.flareaudio.com/

For sale SOLD Fender FB620 bass gig bag. Mint condition, 6 weeks old and hasn't left the house. I just picked up a Gator ProGo so this is now surplus to requirements. 20mm padding, backpack straps, lots of storage, a funky little bit inside to stop the strap button wearing through and a comfy single handle. Overall a brilliant bit of kit. Stingray not included 😉 Collection ideally from near Stansted Airport although I do travel around London, Kent, Essex and Herts for work and could possibly meet/deliver.

Mick gallantly fought his way through the traffic nightmare that is Harlow to grab a box of old porno bass magazines that Mrs Pup was trying to throw away. They have now safely been rehomed in Hatfield i believe. Top bloke, recommended 😊

All 3 of those have worked for us in the past. But we’re not known as an Indie Rock covers band......

Me too........ours is organised, carts all the gear about from the lock up via van and reads drum music thingy so is always prepared at rehearsals. And he's a monster player too - i am blessed to play with him 🙂 Sorry, that's not really helping you is it? Front your bloke up, tell him the issues - it'll sort it one way or the other and you'll be happier in the medium term.

A mate of mine played Hop Festival last year (he plays guitar for Collateral) and had an epic gig. Beautiful summers day outdoor gig in front of about a million people - he said it was one of the best gigs he's ever done (but the way they're going i think he'll be on big festival stages like Rambling Man soon......) What band are you in?
-
We've been going down there for over 10 years so have played quite a few. But we've consciously slowed it down recently because it is a long way for us. We've done the Britannia, Birchington US, Christies, The Orb, The Windmill, quite a few private events and a few others along the way.

Yep it was financially very worthwhile on this occasion. I think the key to getting gigs these days is being prepared to travel a little and we have good history down in Thanet. The local Essex circuit is tied up with the same 10 decent bands playing the same 6 decent venues and bands moan they can't get enough gigs between them but they wont travel more than 30 minutes. We're right on the M25 and can travel an extra 30 minutes and get pretty much as many gigs as we want. And its nice to explore new venues and meet new people.

This...... They'll all have their own sound - you just need to find one you like. I've got SS/Class D that sounds really valvey, valve/AB and SS/MosFet and they're all different but in a good way. I'm happy to gig all of them

Ah, i thought you meant she doesn't turn up till late for the gig. I hope she's getting a round in while you're opening the second set :-)

Last nights gig was a return to one of our old haunts - a pub in Minster, Kent. When we first started playing it years ago there was a cracking landlord and crowd but a new chap took it over and effectively killed it. No one got on with him, the crowds disappeared and we stopped bothering with it. He lasted a year and hopped it owing money to everyone. It now has new owners who are trying to get it back on track and the locals had been asking them to get us back in. We'd made a decision to try not to travel so much this year as this place is 100 miles away so politely declined but after the locals had been on at us via Facebook we decided to give it another go. I started coming down with the plague on Friday night - even the follicles on my head were aching - and i spent most of Saturday feeling sorry for myself and not looking forward to the drive down, drive home and potential tumbleweed gig. So fast forward and we had a blinder, great crowd just like the old days, lovely owners, we played well, tried a couple of new songs out and i got by on adrenalin until about half way thru the second set - i've just watched some video back and i can see that i'm getting tired and a bit sloppy around the point that the drugs were wearing off! The M2 was closed on the way back, i got lost on the detour and ended up getting stuck going back down it which added 30 mins to the drive back dammit but eventually crept in at 4am new time this morning feeling like @@@@. But wifey is waiting on me hand and foot on Mothers Day now - she's a top girl :-)
-
Yeh, how does that work then if she doesn't show till late in the 2nd set??? I may try that one with my lot - just rock up for the last 45 minutes and dodge the load in 😉

They don't sound the same even if the theory is the same. I had a GK MBFusion and now have a 700RBii and the RB is much warmer sounding

Help save my back.......new amp options help needed
Mudpup replied to donslow's topic in Amps and Cabs
Cab wise I used a couple of Barefaced Big Babys with my Ashdown ABM600 and had great results so i would probably look at grabbing something from Barefaced used off the classifieds here. There's frequently Super Twins, Compacts etc kicking around. Trouser shaking stuff and easy to lug about. Or a light 2x12 4ohm neo cab from another manufacturer - Depends on the budget really.... -

I think you're talking about an Ashdown ABM600 here. It'll do exactly that.
