  1. Provisionally sold subject to collection :-)
  2. Nope absolutely useless!!!! I'm near London...oh well, nevermind and GLWTS :-)
  3. Surplus to reqs now so looking for a new home - absolutely mint, bought it a few months ago, stuck a bass in it and its sat in the front room since. Downsizing and space clearing means its surplus so grab a bargain. Fabulous gig bag - Gator Pro Go, Mono, Gigblade sort of thing rather than basic padded style. One step short of a hard case but much more house and car interior friendly imho. Huge pocket storage and kittenfluffy fur interior with thick padding. Collection only please Herts/Essex area at this price - i've got a few weeks off now so should be easy to arrange Heres a link to the thread where they popped up at a bargain price, theres loads of pictures in there - i payed £30 for it new and they're honestly worth £80 upwards in terms of features and quality. Original RRP was £150 but i think that was a bit ambitious. And for £25 its a no brainer.... https://www.premierguitar.com/articles/25846-blake-guitar-solutions-releases-new-cases
  4. We had a problem at a gig last weekend - a pub local to me that we've done about 6 times without issues but suffered from Xmas p***head syndrome last week. Some old girl kept getting on stage and groping the guitarist (she did it on 3 separate occasions), 6 young blokes that could barely stand up throwing beer about at the front of the stage and we we were just waiting for one of them to trip over the monitors (and they knocked a few drinkers clean over a few times!) And all the time the landlord was just filling them up with more beer and laughing at the old girl. We tried slowing the pace of the set down to diffuse the situation but i got to the point at 11.40pm where i just said, thats it, i ain't doing anything else until its calmed down and we have a bit of protection at the front. It took 10 minutes of silence to reinforce the point and we eventually played 2 more songs then packed up. Never had to do that before and it really spoilt the night. The landlord was trying to be all matey after so he knew it had gone too far. We have 4 more booked next year and we're going to pull them if we can replace them. So FFWD to yesterday.....a gig we were looking forward to finishing the year up with thats always been a good one before. Again a lively pub that we always go down a storm at. And i get a message from a mate who played there last week saying to be careful as they changed the door staff, let a load of idiots in who were getting onstage and trying to grab instruments, the venue didn't manage the situation and the band ended up getting threatened by the punters. Fisticuffs were involved. Great...just what i needed to hear after last weekend! Its the first time i've ever been nervous about a gig...i could just smell a difficult night coming and i wasn't in the mood for a punch up. We came up with a plan - first sign of anything uncomfortable happening and we would stop playing until it settled down, breakables firmly away from the crowd and we used some low cases to build a stage edge. We told the manager when we arrived what we were doing and why (he denied there was any bother last week.....) and we cracked on with the show..... And had a blinder! Great crowd who danced and sang all night from the first song, the manager told a member of staff to stay at the stage all night to keep an eye but there was no trouble anyway, we played well and the sound was brilliant apparently (I even had a few bass players come up personally after to compliment my sound!) Balance has been restored. It just goes to show that it just takes one decent gig can lay a lot of ghosts to rest. Next weekend off and then get cracking on January :-)
  5. Don't wait for me buddy, go for it if you have a buyer :-)
  6. OK thats easily within range for me - i'll have a little think.....i've always fancied one of these
  7. As long as you have a volume knob they'll be fine! Might find a 2x10 suits better at lower volumes because the sound is usually a bit tighter than a 15
  8. They're 200, 300 and 400 watts at 8 ohms respectively. And not going to be super light for that money but i don't think they'll be bought on the weight or frequency response basis. Plenty of people out there on a limited budget, fancy a punt as an experiment or just need a cheap cab for home use.
  9. Just spotted these at Andertons.... Wharfedale cabs in a 2x10, 4x10 and 1x15 flavour along with a 2x10 combo. If anyone needed to build a low budget setup i don't think you'll find much cheaper new. apparently a cancelled bulk order 6 years ago thats sat in a Chinese warehouse until now and Andertons picked them up for a steal. https://www.andertons.co.uk/wharfedale?#facet:&productBeginIndex:0&facetLimit:&orderBy:3&pageView:grid&minPrice:&maxPrice:&pageSize:&
  10. Grabbed a stand from Stu, great bloke and an easy sale.
  11. I have but i cant find a tape measure......
  12. See here....
  13. I'm hoping for a 10 hole b/w/b pickguard to replace the anodised one my Precision, one of those mini fold up guitar stand things and a pair of warm lounge pants for slumming around the chateau with. Oh and i wouldn't mind a dashcam so i can film and report all the nobs causing the endless pileups and traffic hold ups that are making my life on the road harder than it needs to be. But that's just Mr Angry sneaking in there and its a bit of a luxury.....
  14. Yes - especially if you can dodge carrying the bloody thing during load in/out as its in a flightcase too 😉 The shed builder bought it mainly to use at smaller gigs to limit the volume a bit but we've ended up using it all the time now because it tightens the sound up nicely. Gonna get some stick on Garfields to put on the outside where he can't reach them.......
  15. small typo - they were £113 a few days ago..... here you go - £112 https://www.bax-shop.co.uk/led-bar/american-dj-vbar-pak-led-bar-kit?gclid=CjwKCAiAlvnfBRA1EiwAVOEgfPKVR3L1gWgdTQY7LmPcuRW8wlTkci_6mzuATsKcJ8YlzY-c0r8ObxoCRo8QAvD_BwE
  16. We use these x 4 https://www.amazon.co.uk/CHAUVET-DJ-CLP35HC-EUCH05-Half-Coupler/dp/B00IEAVYQC - they fit a standard 35mm speaker pole - you have to change the wingnuts to nuts to get them in the gap between the bracket and light body. One of our poles needs a 38mm bottom one so we use these https://www.amazon.co.uk/CHAUVET-DJ-CLP10-Pro-Clamp/dp/B0002D035C/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1543320755&sr=8-3&keywords=chauvet+clamps But we have used reuseable zip ties in the past with no problems - the lights aren't heavy at all. You can see them in this clip - they're set to a mild sound to light using red, blue and purple. Try and ignore the moving heads and you'll see all the front lighting on the band is from the VBars.
  17. These are very good value at £113 a pair...metal casings, you get 2 in a pack with a remote control and a carry bag. We use them either on the floor in front of us and angled towards us a bit or more recently clamped on the speaker poles facing inwards (doesn't blind you so much when you're shoegazing). They have multiple autorun programs including sound sensitive and fades. A mains plug in each unit and link them with a dmx cable - its honestly a 2 minute setup. https://www.amazon.co.uk/American-1226100281-VBAR-PAK-Effect/dp/B00N5770Q2 And heres a bit of video - ignore all the swively stuff and lasers....all the face on lighting (mainly red, blue and purple) is from the V Bars stuck on the speaker stands.
  18. Marta Altesa does a good version of this on YouTube which could be worth a look....
  19. Great listing - looks like a 4 string bass with a 6 string headstock 😂 This looks like a fun bit of kit too - a console that has been modded from the one that Zep 4 was recorded on.... https://www.bonhams.com/press_release/26728/
  20. There's actually 3 in the range - all with the wide 44.5mm nut width, reverse tuners and gold anodised scratch plate. Classic 50's Precision - Polyurethane finish neck and body and available in sunburst, red or blonde. Classic 50's Precision Lacquer - Thin nitro finish neck and body, available in black (i think there used to be a blonde version too). Classic 50's Precision Roadworn - Nitro roadworn finish body and a poly neck, available in red or sunburst. I tried all 3 and there was something that worked better for me with the nitro ones, I cant really quantify it but they just felt a bit more alive to me and different enough from a standard Mexican P bass - I wanted a Roadworn one because they feel absolutely lovely to play but the Lacquer popped up for a great price so i grabbed it and its gradually becoming roadworn naturally :-). Someone had already scotchbrighted the neck so it has a nice worn in feel already. I'd like to roll the edges a bit though as i think thats what makes the Roadworns feel so good along with the amount of wood in the big old neck. They're all lovely basses though.
  21. Here you go....here's my 50's Classic Lacquer DIY Roadworn work in progress...
  22. Fabulous basses - i have a black one. GLWTS.....
  23. Yep me too...i was hoping for pictures
