  1. Played in a fairly big pub in NW London last night - I've been off for a month and was looking forward to it. Weird sound in there as it was a big echoey wooden layout and you play upstairs above another bar on a wooden floor. The bass was disappearing - couldnt hear myself 5 feet away, couldn't hear me 15 feet away and the bloke on the leather settee 25 feet away said it was making his derrière shake! Its one for my Gramma pad next time.... Turned out a really good night - the staff loved us, the crowd were going bonkers from the off and didn't stop for 2.5 hours, we got to use the hazer and lasers without setting any alarms off (even though they had smoke alarms nearby) so it looked impressive, we got a couple of rebooks to fill our last remaining dates for this year and a guaranteed 4 gigs next year. Everyone had a fab night it seems. And the strangest thing? They said we were too cheap!!! We don't go out for less than £250 which is pretty typical around here for pubs - we did this one for more than that anyway and they said that the rebooks and next years will pay significantly more again. Need to find us some more of these ones i reckon :-)
  2. I would spend your money on lights instead - your missus is gonna be furious when she spots that you've pinched her standard lamp from the front room
  3. Its pretty straightforward - i reckon once you've spent 30 mins on it you'll crack it. Roots and little noodles work all the way through. As above though, play it in D to make it easier - GnR down tune it.
  4. I'll have them spongebob pm me your details and i'll paypal some wonga over to you
  5. Something looks fishy about the EBS seller - online supplements shop selling cameras and lawnmowers too. I'd be very careful sending any money......

  16. Get the Seymour Duncan Studio in the classifieds........dead easy to use/get a bad sound/overdo it (delete as appropriate)
  17. And i nearly forgot this one from Slade in Flame...... An epic song from a fantastic band that i grew up with
  18. I liked Gladiator by Hans Zimmer and particularly the tracks with Lisa Gerard on. Blackhawk Down was also in the same vein.
  19. Thanks for the responses from everyone - I'll have a proper look thru over the weekend and get back to all. Just a quick note though, could anyone else who wants to respond please do it via message rather than sticky. It's easier to keep a record of and I think I've just deleted a sticky from 'status someone' by accident (please get in touch btw if it's you) Cheers
  20. I need a few gigs covered this year. Mainly SW London/M25 area and particularly Oct 12 in Hounslow (that's the crucial one but it will generate more if you're the right guy/gal and we can look at dates to suit you). The bookings have gone nuts this year (60+) and I need to build some family time in. Rock Covers (more modern than classic though) - Martha and the Muffins thru to Metallica via Stereophonics and Bon Jovi. Great drummer and very tight band so it's an easy gig if you do your homework. Probably no rehearsal and just learn set from audio/video but it's an experienced band and they'll help you through. Equal 4 way split of money and we usually go out for £250/300 all in. Message me for more info if interested - thanks for looking......
  21. You'll miss them when the interweb has killed them all off........no nipping in to solve last minute emergencies
  22. Gator ProGo user here and very happy with it...... Great protection, a raincover, tons of storage and not too heavy And it has a one piece handle (i hate the two piece velcro together type ones :-)) https://www.thomann.de/gb/gator_g_pg_bass_guitar_bag.htm
