  1. I just had a look - its the right sort of stuff for the crowd in that place imho, you should have an ok night Have fun :-)
  2. Thats the same guy....nice bloke. The volume problem is linked to the size of the place - the punters tend to stay up the far end, you're playing up the other end and the grumpy neighbour was the other side of the car park which is behind your end. The audience were asking us to turn up 'cos they couldn't hear us and the landlord was asking us to turn down 'cos of grumpy bloke. Hopefully the grumpy neighbour has moved or they've calmed him down somehow. Whats your band called?
  3. Ditto...?
  4. Looks great, lovely colour....and they're a bit under the radar too which is nice
  5. We played it about 6 times 2 years ago. It's a big place and had a resident crowd of mainly 50+ year olds but not particularly friendly. It's more of a Sunday lunch and big screen footie place. Load in is from car park at back and you go up a ramp thru 2 doors into the the area just behind where you play so not bad. Small raised stage with handrails around it. Wooden floors and quite big and echoey sound. The guvnor (may not be there now as he had some health issues before) had a big problem with a particular neighbour re the volumes with all the bands. He used to stand outside in the car park and keep running in saying to turn it all down. To the point of it being a waste of time and we cancelled all our future gigs there. The guitar amps physically couldn't get any quieter and the drummist was already using rods and couldn't get quieter. Shame because we always went down well there but it was unworkable. i thought he would end up scrapping live music as a result but the fact he's still doing maybe means they have resolved things a bit. When are you there? I may drop in if I'm free that night
  6. EBS TD660..... Just grabbed a used TD650 off here a couple of weeks ago, gigged it, loved it and then this new one fell on me. It would have been rude not to...... Might be a used TD650 for sale soon, i cant justify having 2 :-)
  7. Sparky just grabbed my Ashdown ABM.......top bloke, swift, reliable blah blah blah......... Cheers Mark
  8. I did ok..... the amp i was looking to buy at £800 (originally £1200) was reduced to £649 :-) If only DPD could manage to actually deliver it to me............

  12. I just bought a Fender Classic 50's Lacquer Precision bass from Bridgehouse. Great bloke, easy transaction, nice tea, nice dogs and now missing a very nice P bass 🙂
  13. Bought Neils EBS amp off him - great bloke and very easy transaction with great comms!
  14. We're usually £800 - 1000 for a pub NYE gig but we're doing this year for £600 because we really like the place and they've been good to us with gigs for the last couple of years. We'll have a great night there so i don't mind doing it cheap - it'll be fun.
  15. But it is quite broad....:-) Cant remember where i heard it from - it was pre internet definitely - and i'm probably wrong anyway
  16. I think its Broad Bass.......
  17. Where in Essex are you please?
  18. Yep its a Glock in mine. Exactly the same tone/volume as passive when set flat.
  19. Glocks are fitted as standard in Sandbergs i think. I have one in my PM4 and really like it - but i know what you mean about the brightness. Its the zing and clarity that i like in mine but its not for everyone.
