We played it about 6 times 2 years ago. It's a big place and had a resident crowd of mainly 50+ year olds but not particularly friendly. It's more of a Sunday lunch and big screen footie place. Load in is from car park at back and you go up a ramp thru 2 doors into the the area just behind where you play so not bad. Small raised stage with handrails around it. Wooden floors and quite big and echoey sound. The guvnor (may not be there now as he had some health issues before) had a big problem with a particular neighbour re the volumes with all the bands. He used to stand outside in the car park and keep running in saying to turn it all down. To the point of it being a waste of time and we cancelled all our future gigs there. The guitar amps physically couldn't get any quieter and the drummist was already using rods and couldn't get quieter. Shame because we always went down well there but it was unworkable. i thought he would end up scrapping live music as a result but the fact he's still doing maybe means they have resolved things a bit. When are you there? I may drop in if I'm free that night

I did ok..... the amp i was looking to buy at £800 (originally £1200) was reduced to £649 :-) If only DPD could manage to actually deliver it to me............

Theres a couple of cracking bits of kit massively reduced at gear4music - some good basses and amps here.... Musicman Reflex bass reduced from £2200 to £1100 here https://www.gear4music.com/Guitar-and-Bass/Music-Man-Reflex-H-Bass-Guitar-RN-Vintage-Sunburst/1A7J A rarely seen Musicman Game Changer reduced from £2500 to £1300 https://www.gear4music.com/Guitar-and-Bass/Music-Man-Reflex-Game-Changer-HH-Bass-Guitar-RN-Black/1AAS And this iTrack recording microphone thingy looked useful down from £83 to £15 https://www.gear4music.com/Recording-and-Computers/Focusrite-iTrack-Pocket/13CV

I just bought a Fender Classic 50's Lacquer Precision bass from Bridgehouse. Great bloke, easy transaction, nice tea, nice dogs and now missing a very nice P bass 🙂

We're usually £800 - 1000 for a pub NYE gig but we're doing this year for £600 because we really like the place and they've been good to us with gigs for the last couple of years. We'll have a great night there so i don't mind doing it cheap - it'll be fun.
-
But it is quite broad....:-) Cant remember where i heard it from - it was pre internet definitely - and i'm probably wrong anyway
-
I think its Broad Bass.......

Yep its a Glock in mine. Exactly the same tone/volume as passive when set flat.
-
Glocks are fitted as standard in Sandbergs i think. I have one in my PM4 and really like it - but i know what you mean about the brightness. Its the zing and clarity that i like in mine but its not for everyone.

Dave just bought my Nate Precision - all concluded swiftly and efficiently. Cheers Dave!

One of our favourite venues and a cracking night! Filmed from a GoPro stuck on my headstock but it catches the atmosphere nicely Have a look from about 2.00 mins in

For Sale NOW SOLD SUBJECT TO PAYMENT/COLLECTION Ashdown ABM600RC evo4 rack mount amp head with Gator ABS case I've just splashed out on a new amp so the one in, one out policy has been triggered by Mrs Pup and it has to go. I'm the original owner and the amp is in minty super shiny chrome condition with no issues at all. Don't be put off by the old ABM reputation of being whoompy and pillowy and not much else - this is a whole different beast. It can be tight, zingy and sizzly if required but can also do old school thick and fat with ease. Its bloody loud and has the slam that most class D's seem to miss (in my opinion). The Gator case has a butterfly latch handle missing but it closes and functions perfectly safely and easily. Any demo is welcome, I'm based near Stansted Airport. Face to face sale ideally - i'm courier averse I'm afraid - and i could deliver Herts, Essex, Kent, Surrey, London by arrangement. Images below and theres a little video attached of the actual amp set pretty much flat (in no wool mode ) with a Nate Mendel P Bass, headphones recommended :-) No trades thanks unless it's a Fender Roadworn Precision in sunburst with maple (and via PM of course) Thanks for looking...... http://ashdownmusic.com/products/1/B/2/ABM/141/ABM600RCEVO-IV/
