2. Have a 'top bloke and thanks for the Berg' type bump........... and that Quilter is a wicked bit of kit too - thanks for letting me have a go on it, if i needed another amp etc........:-)
3. actual pictures now added to thread
4. Thanks ped duly noted
5. i have one of these - its a fantastic case, very under the radar compared to some of the more boutique brands. Absolutely loads of useable storage and brilliant protection. Have a 15 minute bump from me :-)
6. Probably just me being dumb but... I just posted a for sale advert recently and went to edit it this morning. I assumed i would find it in the 'My Content' area of my profile but its not there. Its in the 'Content I Follow' bit. Is that a bit illogical or is it just me? Or have i done it wrong? As you can probably guess, i have way too much time on my hands this morning
7. [s]For Sale [/s] SOLD Tech21 Paradriver DI v2 Bought new just 1 month ago and gigged 4 times so immaculate condition. Velcro on the bottom and still in the tin with sticker and bubblewrap. If you're reading this you probably know what it does but its essentially a BDDI with a sweepable mid control and a couple of different filters. Its the newer version 2 model. The Para Driver DI gives your instrument a natural warmth and presence, as if miking it through a tube preamp. The SansAmp circuitry eliminates the harsh, unnatural harmonics of piezo pickups, while the Drive control offers some edge-- ranging from just a little to over-the-top. FEATURES Active tone controls with 12dB of cut or boost Sweepable semi-parametric EQ 1/4" 4.7 megOhm instrument level input 1/4" and XLR outputs with selectable levels Parallel, unaffected output to run a dry signal to a separate channel Mid Shift ranges from 160Hz to 3kHz, +/- 16dB Blend has a regular full-size knob control Rumble Filter switch removes unwanted sub-sonic frequencies that cause boominess and audible handling noises associated with acoustic guitars and also complements other instruments, such as electric guitar, for a snappier, more in-your-face sound Air switch adds top-end clarity and sparkle to acoustics and complements other instruments, as well as vocals, for more definition and more open sound http://www.tech21nyc...radriverdi.html Rarely available secondhand and about £220 new most places. 8. epic sparkly bass too!
9. How about a 'heft' workshop ;-) An explanation of - What it is A demo of amps that certainly have it A demo of amps that say they have it A demo of amps that dont actually have it....... A demo of amps that have it and you can carry easily A demo of amps that have it but you need a roadie to carry and then the same for people that have a different idea of what it is Sort of 'the definitive heft' thread acted out with real stuff :-) ps that started off a bit tongue in cheek but maybe its an idea?
10. dammit.....i thought my buying basses days were over where can i hide it i wonder? any idea on price?
11. I've had a bunch of basses from most of the popular companies over the last few years and the only ones that i would happily buy completely unseen or unplayed would be a USA Musicman (i've had 4) or a Spector (I've had 3) as they seem to be very consistent in build quality/feel and you rarely hear of people having unresolved issues with them. Having said that, I have a 97 2 Stingray band that feels much nicer to me than the 2001 3 band that i recently moved on - the neck feels a bit chunkier but is very played in and it feels instantly more 'right' to me. I also prefer the 2 band sound - its quite significantly different from the 3 band.
12. they are fantastic basses....
13.
Before I try this, does it keep your presets still, or will I have to write down settings first?
It kept all my presets and just added a bunch of new effects and amps in Takes about a minute to set up and download everything - simples :-) Re anything exciting, I've just had a bit of a potter about with it. Theres GK, Ampeg B15, Eden, SWR and a few more amp sims. Some analog flanger and chorus stuff and a bunch of new modulation effects. Also a nice Studio Compressor. And a ton of other things that i haven't looked at yet. Added 84 new effects i believe to the existing 54 - but i haven't counted....
14. Just found this yesterday on the Zoom site - it should make a great pedal even better V2.0 firmware update now available https://www.zoom.co.jp/products/multistomp/zoom-ms-60b-multistomp-bass-pedal#downloads Adds 84 new effects including a load of amp models Heres the new list - the ones with blue stars next to them are the new ones https://www.zoom.co.jp/sites/default/files/products/downloads/pdfs/E_MS-60B_FX-list_v2.pdf I just did the update without any issues - although be aware you need to turn the power off whilst you do the update - and it seems to preserve all your old patches without a problem Off to have a noodle now........
15. Im getting a B52'S and Martha and the Muffins thing in my head
16. They're rubbish Actually that was a total lie - just get one.........you'll love it
17. Get rid...... Your never going to get on with it by the sounds of things so move it on whilst you can. The LH500 is a great amp - fat, warm and clean - but remember it has a Fender style tone stack so will sound odd with settings at 12 o'clock. Flat is with the mids cranked right up and the bass backed off i seem to remember. Or what about the HA3500C they have for a few quid more?
18. I had an EBS multi comp and didn't get on with it - same reasons as above really, it was either too effecty sounding or not doing much. Having internal controls is a bit of a bind as well. Then went to a DOD Milkbox which is very good and i still use it on my spare pedalboard - might possibly switch it out for a SD Studio or MXR in the future though if one pops up for the right price. Currently using a Seymour Duncan Doubleback (which is similar to the Studio i believe but in a bigger form factor) on my main gig board and realising that having a blend control and parallel compression is dead useful for my preferences.
19. Limiter switch on the top - switch it on......
20. Top bloke and highly recommended. I muffed up the postage on an effects pedal i sold to him and had to resend it - Mark was hugely patient and decent whilst i faffed about sorting it out!!!! Enjoy the pedal dude!
21.
The Sleeve is very nice, I've owned two, but you can get the Gator ProGo for under £100, which has better neck protection (if your bass has an angled headstock I would not recommend the sleeve) and way more storage.
I have one of these and its an awesome product. Loads of protection and pockets. The straps and hardware feel military grade. Not quite as comfy on your back as its quite bulky but i guess that's because of the protection it offers. And it will cheerfully stand up on its own - its not even slightly floppy. A cheaper and floppier option that still gives decent quality and protection is the TGI Extreme (the newer version thats black and grey rather than the black and blue old one). Its about £40. It doesnt have the lower edge protection that the more expensive ones have so you need to be a bit more careful putting it down but its ok. I've had one for a few years with no issues and its used most weekends. And it stands up on its own too.......
22. We use these on the floor in front of us angled back - they're very good and great value. You get a pair of lights, carry bag and a remote for £160. You can link them or run them individually using a bunch of built in programs. We also zip tie them onto the speaker stands and run them pointing in each side of the stage sometimes. https://www.gak.co.uk/en/american-dj-american-dj-vbar-led-pak/105535?gclid=CjwKEAjwjPXIBRDhwICRg-DbgHISJADP6QXp9XNUohDTJ6vgpHGF1-YADDUyOJkbTvxjaHTo4SF5ABoCEF3w_wcB http://www.americandj.eu/en/vbar-pak.html heres a link to our FB photos page showing them being used - the beamy ones in the background are different ones (Quad Sweepers) but you can see the stage wash from the VBars quite well https://www.facebook.com/groups/221831483416/photos/
