1. Theres a couple of things on a MusicMan bass that should be industry standard...... 1 - The little wheel truss rod adjuster - simply brilliant idea, no allen key to lose 2 - Tool free pop out battery box In fact, you should be able to make a tool free bass really shouldn't you? The two things above, a velcro attached scratch plate (no 13 screws on a precision to undo), mini thumbwheel intonation screws at the bridge, thumbwheel pick up height screws.....
2. Its bonkers innit! :-) I was always a plain white/black or natural bass kind of guy but this one has opened a can of worms I keep sitting here looking at it thinking i should buy some white flares and a wide collared shirt Musicman do the best sparkles imho
3. Just picked this up recently....... A rare Autumn Redburst Stingray. Lovely sparkle under lights too :-)
4. I would cut my losses now if it was me. Contact Polar, see what they say, maybe use the "not of merchantable quality/fit for purpose" approach with them. If they fix it for free chuck it on Gumtree but if they dont just close the door on it and move on. Cant be using gear you cant trust if youre gigging regularly, its always going to be in the back of your mind. And it sounds like its just a matter of waiting for it to go pop again.........
5. PF500s have a bad rep for blowing up unfortunately - do a search on here or the USA site...... You may struggle to move it on here
6. That's on my shortlist - thought it looked ok Cheers Jon
7. Looking to invest in a small hazer for pubs and clubs gigs. Not a smoke machine, just a hazer. Anyone have any useful advice on brands/avoids/best buys please?
8. I used to have a Zoom H2N and got fed up with the interface/buttons. Found it was pretty unintuitive but it may just have been me. Sound quality was ok. Sold it and bought an Olympus LS14 and I think its huge improvement. Particularly with the bass sound.
9. Well, that's that sorted then
10. Sorted here......(its nowt to do with me btw) http://basschat.co.uk/topic/274047-yamaha-bb424x-black-l220/page__fromsearch__1 I had one of these and it was my main gigging bass for a year. Slightly chunky neck for my taste but an awesome sounding and well built bass.I spent a lot of time trying to find a jazz or precision and ended up with the Yamaha which was streets ahead imho.
11. You're giving it away for that price!!!!!!! Cant help but thinking you would be better of trying to hang on to it till after Crimbo and people arent focussed on spending on families rather than themselves......
12. No probs Shonks - have a free bump (If anyones thinking of it, deal with confidence with Shonks - top bloke!)
13. Ernie Ball Cobalt rounds are the growliest strings I've ever used on my one....... Not cheap and go a bit rusty quick but have a massive growly fundamental
14. Just traded a bass with Shonks. Dodgy deal concluded in a pub. All good and a gentleman to deal with. Highly recommended!
15. Usually no more than 4 gigs at best and 3 if theyre hot and sweaty
16. Another Mono vote here......
17.
V nice - love that colour - I have at the back of my mind it may be called Autumn red rise sparkle. EBMM customer services would confirm based on serial number.
Autumn Redburst apparently...... The red rise is a linear fade rather than a burst and even rarer
18.
wow! nice one! does it sound as killer as it looks?
Sounds great on the headphones. Should be good in a live situation but you cant really tell until you get the chance to give it some beans. Current fave is my USA Sub which just has gobs of booty on tap - hoping this one is similar live. Sure looks sparkly though ........
19. It's a bit different! Having a bit of a mad GAS frenzy at the moment. Started off looking at a PDN Sledge Sabre but missed out and ended up with this.
20. Just received this lovely Stingray today 3eq with maple neck and in a pretty rare colour Autumn Redburst. It's all sparkly in the right light so gotta break out the disco pants!
