I think its a risk of the newer text/messaging culture - you just assume people have read/seen the message and can't be bothered to get in touch. I'm pretty certain that anyone who's living depends on selling anything would be pretty hot on following things through...... i gave my 12year old lad a roasting the other day for not replying to a text from me (just one about collecting him from school) - he insisted he hadn't received it and it came through as we were talking - he genuinely hadn't received it. You can't beat the old school method of actually talking to people....

I've had both - contoured is much comfier. The top part of the slab rubbed on my forearm and constantly niggled me......

Thoroughly enjoyed this program. A refreshing mix of good bands - i thought they were all good in their own ways - and the 2 i liked most went through. Bombskare were awesome, so much energy and i bet they are a real laugh live - i dont even like ska..... Looking forward to the next instalment.

And this one is trans red I think .....i'd put my money on it being this colour and the photo saturation being quite altered Early versions were a bit lighter, the later ones apparently were darker. heres an example from this site http://basschat.co.u...drop-l750-sold/ and heres a useful site http://forums.ernieb...shes-guide.html

Has anyone compared a BF BB2 with a Vanderkley 115MN6?
Had I not been offered to use the new rehearsal Ashdown 4x10 combo, I would have been more interested in a smaller do-it-all-up-to-a-certain-extent light cab. Alas, paying £3 for a 3 hours on an Ashdown is a small price to pay for not carrying a cab down 3 flights of stairs and trying to get it into a New Beetle. Off topic, but jees, this Ashdown combo unfortunately keeps with the generalisation of 'wooliness'. Loud, bassey, but not enough clarity at all. Barely any sparkle, Massive mid dip when flat I think. Shame as I wanted to investigate more Ashdown gear but it is an old combo any may well be in need of TLC.
Sorry for the thread hijack (although i do use an Ashdown thru a BB2 so i kind of qualify..) I had an old ABM head and found the same thing, woolly and pillowy and couldn't get any sparkle - gave up and sold it on ages ago. Just ended up with an ABM600 head recently and hunted around for some setting advice on t'internet turned up something from Roger Bauer. Tried it and damned if it didn't change the whole sound of the amp. Its a bit anti logical but try it..... Disengage the scoop button (so its scooped), turn the bass control down to about 10 o'clock, bump the 180 slider down just a touch, boost 340 just a bit (puts some mids back), mid control about 1 o'clock, boost 1.3 slider a couple of notches, 2.6 to taste, treble at 2 o'clock. Oh and drive the valve a bit (puts the harmonic zing back in). Give it a go next time..... -
Turned up at a regular gig last night to find a private 30th party in full swing where we normally set up. Immediately get the old "damn, we've been blown out and nobody told us" sweats..... Have a word with the owner, no problem - we want you to play in the restaurant tonight please, he says (its a giant pub/hotel, restaurant sort of place). Hmnnn - this aint looking promising, we're a noisy rock covers band and the punters won't fancy us spoiling their chocolate fudge cake. The restaurant closes at 10 and we start at 9.30... Set up with grumpy drummer carrying everything through the diners. Its not looking promising, cramped area, waitresses walking thru our area with dinners, can't turn main lights down cos people are eating etc.... Persuade manager to turn lights down. Start playing 1st set - everyone loves it, could actually be an ok evening maybe. 2nd set - 30th birthday party migrates into our room, diners have stayed and everyone is completely up for it. Probably about 300 people going nuts :-) We have all the lights and smoke going, play really well and the whole place is dancing and singing every word of the second set. Manager comes up afterwards and says that it was the best gig they've ever seen there (they have bands every weekend and have been going for years) - thats why you do it....... From grumpy and can't be arsed at the beginning to coming offstage sweaty and grinning after one of the most enjoyable gigs I've ever played in the space of 4 hours - just goes to show, you never can tell

Amazing Stingray tone - Ged Grimes, Simple Minds live video
This is great . I've always been finger style only , and now trying to use a pick for the first time in 30 yrs . This is exactly the pick style I'm looking at - what a great player
Its a great example of how to lock in with a fab drummer too. Ged is playing pretty loose over the drums but they just sound so comfortable together - what a rhythm section! -
I had this problem for ages too, Lozz. I bought (funnily enough seeing as he started the thread) Mudpup's USA SUB. It's a 2 band and sounds quite different to my old 3 band. In conjunction with more subtle EQ'ing (as opposed to the common method of maxing everything) I'm now getting that sound myself!
That particular SUB is possessed! There's something special going on with that bass........hope youre enjoying it :-) -

Just fell over this last night whilst browsing youtube....... I used to quite like Simple Minds (around the New Gold Dream era i suppose) but felt they went off the boil long ago - looks like they've got their mojo back more recently This performance is awesome and has maybe my favourite Stingray tone - and Ged really nails the groove Derek Forbes brought to the band years ago https://youtu.be/sh15VP1to-4 <iframe width="420" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/sh15VP1to-4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

and thats a nice Stingray......

I don't think you need an allen key do you????? Thought it had a truss wheel like the Stingrays do.......... Just poke a small screwdriver into the hole and turn clockwise to introduce more tension and vice versa
-
Just get a Zoom B1on, headphone out, aux in and multi effects all for £40 - really useful little thing
Great value from Thomann!
The prices don't look much different from those at Bass Direct - and its British :-) You have to be really careful with Thomanns quoted exchange rate prices - they're frequently not accurate. And its much easier to sort if theres an issue...
