1. Thats a lovely SB14 you have there.......
2. In my opinion Sandbergs are very well made and even the "budget" end will outperform most others at the same price points. I've played a few Electras and they are fantastic basses with a good consistency of build and sound - with Fenders, its a bit hit or miss whether you'll get a good one or not. The Electra has a lovely natural wiry zing to the sound but you can dial it out easily if you want old school thud. The necks are awesome too. Well worth a punt and you won't lose much if you decide to flip it later
3. Bass GAS has disappeared over the last 6 months or so since i discovered Stingrays. Partly i suspect because i have tried most on my hit list over the last 5 years since my return to playing and to have been fortunate enough to be able to afford to pick something up if it really appeals and flip it if i find something i prefer later. I have been through 3 Spectors, a Fender Blacktop Jazz, a Yamaha BB and just have a mild hankering for a Warwick but my current Stingrays and a Sandberg seem to have sorted me out to the point of not bothering to really look anymore. Cab GAS is cured with a couple of Barefaced and amps sorted by GK and hopefully my new Ashdown Evo iv head. Life will be boring now...........
4.
I didn't read it properly, I had the Shuttle 6 and not the max.
Pay attention at the back there.........
5.
As the OP is talking about a max series head it has two channels unlike the 9.2 or 6.0.
and that would be why i said "Almost....."
6. Almost.......... I have a Gen 3 Big Baby 2 currently and used to use a Genz Shuttle 9.2. and am also selling a MB Fusion! Also using Stingrays so its a pretty relevant comparison.......... Bought the Fusion to replace the Genz as i found the Genz a bit sterile sounding. The Fusion was much more to my taste and has a lot more headroom - the Genz began to run out of steam and the Gallien just has much more grunt about it. Its also a lot more flexible tonewise - use channel B to thicken up the sound and channel A for a more modern clean sound - clearer but not brittle really. PM me if you need more detailed info or are interested in buying the Fusion - its in the classifieds now
7.
If you're thinking of an Ashdown (which I was too) don't rule out a Mesa Carbine amp. Got myself an M6. Wow!
I can get 3 amps for the price of a Mesa!!!!!
8. sorry double post - mods can u delete please......
9. Cheers Mark, i'm not convinced either!!!!! I'll have a play on it over the weekend to make my mind up. Pushed the button on something else this afternoon and the one in one out policy has triggered.......

12. Overload light?????????????
13. I use a Zoom MS60B - theres a bunch of good modulation effects on there
14. Had a play on one of these QT600 heads today in the local shop. They have a second hand one in there but its a bit rich... Thinking about picking up a backup for my Gallien head and it sounded quite nice at shop volume. There's not much info about on these and i wondered if anyone has any gigging experience with them? Looking for a slammy punchy rock sound with some guts - something you can feel as much as hear - and its hard to tell at lower volumes whether it will work for me. The shop wont let me demo it for 24hrs and i'm not prepared to take it blind. Anyone had one?
15.
thanks for all the replies - much appreciated. For those with 2x BB2's - do you stack them vertically or horizontally ?
Vertically........
16. I play in a loud twin guitar rock band and use 2 x Big Baby 2 Gen 3 cabs. If it's a gig with noise limiters then I can get away with just the one cab and angle it up a bit but for most gigs (medium/large pubs and clubs not using pa support) I use both. Oh and a 500w ish amp. So I would either go for the bigger cab or ideally save up for the second BB2 to get a modular system.
17.
Damn you beat me to it
100/ths of a second i reckon :-)
18. Had a mixed weekend..... Friday night gig at a nice big pub venue which we've had some cracking nights at. Usually full of people and everyone up for a singalong and jump around. It was dead as a dodo - played to about 25 people. Annoying cos we played really well too. Saturday night was a new venue for us so we didn't know what to expect. Great gig, easy load in, plenty of room on the stage and started off half full (maybe 100 people) which then got rammed as the 1400 people came out of a Frankie boyle gig up the road at 11pm and wanted a drink. Standing room only and we had a blinder. Supposed to finish at 12/12.15 and ended up stuck on stage till 12.45 by popular demand. And our new lights looked fab - see below..... 21.
Did a cracking gig last night with musical youth at the watering hole in perranporth. Good crowd of really good people. Hope we get booked there again.
One of my favourite venues! Had an 'all the bank holidays' residency there for a few years recently and it was always a real lively gig. Even sort of enjoyed getting the van towed out of the sand dunes by their tractor at 2 in the morning (or leaving it overnight and popping back for breakfast and a load up on Sunday morning)
22. This is a great pedal that should have sold at this price already!
