1. Sorted here......(its nowt to do with me btw) http://basschat.co.uk/topic/274047-yamaha-bb424x-black-l220/page__fromsearch__1 I had one of these and it was my main gigging bass for a year. Slightly chunky neck for my taste but an awesome sounding and well built bass.I spent a lot of time trying to find a jazz or precision and ended up with the Yamaha which was streets ahead imho.
2. You're giving it away for that price!!!!!!! Cant help but thinking you would be better of trying to hang on to it till after Crimbo and people arent focussed on spending on families rather than themselves......
3. No probs Shonks - have a free bump (If anyones thinking of it, deal with confidence with Shonks - top bloke!)
4. Ernie Ball Cobalt rounds are the growliest strings I've ever used on my one....... Not cheap and go a bit rusty quick but have a massive growly fundamental
5. Just traded a bass with Shonks. Dodgy deal concluded in a pub. All good and a gentleman to deal with. Highly recommended!
6. Usually no more than 4 gigs at best and 3 if theyre hot and sweaty
7. Another Mono vote here......
8.
V nice - love that colour - I have at the back of my mind it may be called Autumn red rise sparkle. EBMM customer services would confirm based on serial number.
Autumn Redburst apparently...... The red rise is a linear fade rather than a burst and even rarer
9.
wow! nice one! does it sound as killer as it looks?
Sounds great on the headphones. Should be good in a live situation but you cant really tell until you get the chance to give it some beans. Current fave is my USA Sub which just has gobs of booty on tap - hoping this one is similar live. Sure looks sparkly though ........
10. It's a bit different! Having a bit of a mad GAS frenzy at the moment. Started off looking at a PDN Sledge Sabre but missed out and ended up with this.
11. Just received this lovely Stingray today 3eq with maple neck and in a pretty rare colour Autumn Redburst. It's all sparkly in the right light so gotta break out the disco pants! 12. Great amp....
13. Trade now pending....................... Should be gone on Sunday
14. Not from abroad thanks - you've got a big commute to get to me!!!!
15. Because the interweb facilitates it..........
16.
Hi, trade wise what are you looking for ?
1999 USA Sterling H any use? Honeyburst with maple neck. And i am 25 miles away........
17. Now Traded thanks ☺ Due to a rather rash incoming Stingray purchase my one in, one out policy has kicked in........ USA Musicman Sterling H 4 string bass in good condition. 1999 vintage and she's a stunner in one of the best colours in my opinion. Honeyburst with a nice grain, lovely played in birdseye oiled/wax maple neck and a white scratchplate. 3 band eq, ceramic pickup, 3 way series/parallel/humbucking switch. The neck profile is the slim jazz style rather than the Stingray/Precision width. I would rate her as a 8.5/10 good gigged condition - there are 2 tiny dings in the laquer on the top edge and a couple of tiny scuffs on the bottom edge. The neck has a little 1cm scratch on the rear right where i put my thumb at the fifth fret - its actually kind of comforting to be honest! The headstock has the usual couple of scuffs from low pub ceilings that most MM basses seem to accumulate. For a 17 year old bass shes in good shape though. A good gigbag is included or could possibly be persuaded to give up my Hiscox case for a bit extra. Any trial welcomed - i have amps or headphones available- and i am near Stansted Airport / Bishops Stortford/ Harlow. I would prefer not to post the moment. Delivery is possible in Herts/Essex/Kent/bits of London by arrangement. £750 Hope you dont mind me using your piccys psychoandy!
18. Got them on all 3 of my basses and consider them essential bits of kit. The only time I ever had any trouble with tuning was on a Spector with a brass nut - the string slots were a bit sharp and it seemed to hang up on the nut when returning to tension.
19. Yup, as above - a dodgy cable sounds the most likely culprit
20. Now, about Sex on Fire.........................................
21. I run a GK RB700ii into a pair of gen3 Big Baby's which is very similar to what you're looking at. It's a great rig and I have no issues with lack of dispersion. You will have to re eq quite a bit though - it's the only rig I've used where I have to drop the bass back to 9 o'clock to stop the window s falling out in the pubs. I used to have a couple of GK MBE212 cabs and found they were a lot muddier and grittier sounding - don't know how they compare to the Neos though.
22.
Someone's mentioned chorus before. What's the trick to that great sound?
A chorus pedal should sort it..... ☺
23. Be careful with the resale values of Warwick amps, they never seem to hold their value. The other stuff mentioned - especially the Aggie stuff - seems to be very easy to sell on if you don't get on with them.........just something to consider if you aren't sure you'll like the sound.
