As above, get the muff up out of the way early then relax and enjoy. It's great innit - I used to play about 4 gigs a year 20 years ago, retired for 15 years then got back into playing and now doing about 45/50 gigs a year and loving every one of them with no nerves whatsoever!

Queensryche - Operation Mindcrime Absolute classic rock opera with Eddie Jacksons amazing bass sound (turned me on to the whole Spector/Sansamp grind along with Dirt by Alice in Chains....) I think I played it every day for a year and then they followed it up with Empire which was also awesome. Standout tracks for me are - Suite Sister Mary - just lush... Spreading the Disease - for the sneaky little playing outside the box lead run in the solo Breaking the Silence - that bass sound! I Don't Believe in Love - that bass sound again and the tortured vocals Eyes of a Stranger - great closing track

London - Bass Gallery in Camden and Wunjos in Tott Court Rd for shopping Brick Lane to eat expensive cereal in a restaurant and drink tea with cats with the hipsters (or just grab a coffee and laugh at the weirdos/hipsters :-)

The Hartke doesn't have a mid control but the notch filter can make up for it.

Cheers RR Its the volume or lack of it that's the bother for me. My lot are pretty noisy. And I've got used to having headphone and aux in facilities too.

I have been offered an EBS HD350 amp as a straight trade against my Blacktop Jazz that I have up for sale at the moment. The amp is new and boxed old stock. I was having a tentative think about one of these a while back so its a possible goer but I wanted to get some opinions before I commit. I currently use a Gallien MB Fusion 500 or Benz Shuttle 9.2 into a pair of Barefaced Big Baby 2 cabs and play in a pretty noisy rock covers band. Both amps are easily enough volume for any gig I currently play. The EBS delivers 350 watts into 2 ohms - will I have a headroom problem with it? How would you describe its family sound? I don't like Ashdown whumpy type sounds and prefer clean, thick and zingy with some chest thump. Is it worth about £400 if I decide to move it on? Thanks for any opinions

The wood pattern can really vary on the Euros. Ive seen almost plain ones, highly flamed, deep quilted (like mine) and some really mismatched ones. Think its pot luck on what they have kicking about and you need to see it in the flesh really.

[/quote] You can buy new knobs online very cheaply - I had the same issue with visibility and got some black knobs with a big white stripe on to replace the chrome topped ones for a couple of quid.
