1. Lovely looking bass imho - one of the best colours i reckon
2. Saturday bump A few interesting proposals floating around but still for sale...........
3. Just added a little more info about the preamp to the description and I also forgot to say it also has an 18v conversion as recommended by EMG for the BQC preamp. It gives it a little more headroom and increases the clarity particularly at the treble end of the eq.
4. Spector Euro 4LX for sale/trade. Now sold Its a beautifully figured satin finish quilted maple top with satin neck and was bought brand new from Bass Central in Florida approximately 2 years ago. I am the original owner. Never thought I would sell it but it just isn't getting played at the moment. Condition is a beautiful 9.5/10 - there is a little palm wear on the gold bridge and some buckle worms on the back (cant get a picture of this as you can feel it rather than see it!) It also has a Hipshot Detuner fitted. Its currently £105 at Bass Direct. The original tuner is included in the sale. A Spector fitted hard case is also included - this has a few small tears in the tolex but is otherewise fully functional. Gold Schaller straplocks are fitted and included. Plays fantastically well with that typical Spector sound from the adjustable trimpot (this bit is important! ) Tonepump preamp. I tried a few other Spectors recently (a Forte, a Euro TW and a USA bolt on NS2) and the neck seems a bit slimmer in depth on this one - its very easy to play and has a low action. Any trial welcome and located near Stansted Airport. I'd rather not courier it so collection is preferred. Some of the pictures below were taken when it had an EMG preamp/knobs fitted - its back to standard spec now with the trimpot Tonepump refitted. 5.
Did you catch sight of this one in the classifieds? http://basschat.co.uk/topic/232491-sandberg-vm-custom-zebrano [Img]http://www.bridgeworksuk.com/basschat/VM01.jpg" class="ipsImage" />
Yup, saw that one too. Not my cup of tea really and i was working to a budget.
6.
There was one of these on eBay last week that I was thinking of taking a punt on. It was advertised as a supreme but they are all gloss black or cream on alder this looked like an ash black burst so more than likely a special.. Great P basses regardless well done
Its that very bass Did my homework so knew it wasnt a Supreme, very happy with it.
7.
Woah! What flavour of pickup is that at the bridge? I think I read somewhere regarding Sandbergs that if there is no serial number due to special order or custom job, then there should be a certificate of authentication with the bass. Of course I may have just dreamt it. La-la-la.
Its a sort of Musicman size humbucker at the bridge. Doesnt sound like a MM bass though. Really liking it after an initial front room tinkle today. Gonna pop a Hipshot detuner on it, get a couple of gigs out of it and probably pop my Spector up for sale (trying to keep a strict 2 bass policy)
8. Ah, i'll have a peek later Cheers
9. I have a new one! 11. Think it may be... Its a PM/VM4 in satin blackburst, rosewood neck with a matched headstock and block markers. Sort of like a Supreme but non standard colour. Has the older knobs with the Sandy logo on.
12. Just picked up a Sandberg California PM4 yesterday. Wheres the serial number likely to be though? Its not on the back of the headstock and i'm curious. Oh, and pics to follow later.................
13. Ah its a Basic...... I am looking for a California PM
14. What colour is it please?

17. Played a semi famous East London pub for the second time last night. Went down a storm first time a few weeks ago, 3 rebooks this year and every 8 weeks for 2015 confirmed by promoter. Was a bit of a worry when we saw he had the wrong band on the posters for our night and he wasnt interested in contacting the other band in case he had double booked. I had to find them on Facebook and sort everything out - turns out it was the landlords error and they werent aware of it so ended up ok. Late start and finish - 11 till 2am - and the crowd run out of money/start falling over about 1ish it seems. They stop entry at 12 so it really thins out later. Security staff did an excellent job of stopping everyone dancing for health and safety reasons (apparently requested by landlord??) Consequently, we played a 1 hr first set and 1.5 hr second set and started winding down about 1.30 as there were only about 10 people left in there. Cue landlord raging at us for not playing till closing time. He was really rude and aggressive about it too. We offered to hop back up and play the remaining 20 mins to the (now 4) remaining punters but he was not interested by now and was being a complete uncooperative arse. Seemed like he was looking to chip our fee but he payed up in the end. We've never had a reaction like this in 12 years of gigs and we pride ourselves on giving everything at every gig regardless of the venue. Really p###ed me off and spoilt what had been a good gig until that point. Spleen vented :-)
18. I may be wrong but I think the combo jacks are dark green
19. Send me a few packs and i'll check them out for you!!!
20. I have, and they were excellent!
21. Mine has combi sockets too - the dark green ones
22.
There are so many! Because I have come to this lark quite late in life, there are still so many classics I'd love to do that you guys are thoroughlly sick of...Freebird, Sweet Home, Allright Now etc. But to just keep it to one that I actually know the bass line to, and that my band would never do, it would have to be.. Enter Sandman :-)
We do Sandman - it always goes down a storm. Great to watch a 50+ year old audience headnbanging to it and then pogoing to Pretty Vacant at the end of the set!
23. Second Chance by Shinedown http://youtu.be/PnlRh02Fy7o
24. Red metal flake with a pearloid white scratchplate. Definitely a Corvette groove going on here!
