I recently tried a bunch of phones out and came out with some Sony MDR-V55 ones. They used to be £90 but various places have been jobbing them out at £40/50 (Currys and Amazon for example) They can take anything i throw at them without getting farty or rattly and i've been very pleased with them. Tried Sennheisers, JVC and a few DJ'y type ones but these were the best by a country mile and seemed much more like £100 phones. Shortish lead though so i use an extender to stand up and play. Bargain. Heres a link http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-MDR-V55-DJ-Stereo-Headphones/dp/B007I1QY5Y

Vintage Spector. Collector's item or junk?
Mudpup replied to alistair Sutcliffe's topic in Bass Guitars
Heres a link http://www.spectorguitars.com/models/brooklyn.html Its at the bottom and they only made 107 by the look of things. One for a SpectorCollector i reckon. Theres a big Spector community on Talkbass over the pond. Do a search on there for info. -

Its junk mate I'll take it off your hands ;-) -
Had a PA cab go over and a flying punter tipped a whole pint into the guitaists Engl pedalboard a couple of weeks ago. Riot of a pub gig with people flying everywhere and we were floor level. Luckily had 2 mates to stand in front of us to fend them off a bit but it was an interesting evening. Bought a hard case for the spare bass last week though just in case. Wasnt a shithole - just a fun crowd enjoying themselves. Got a real buzz from it (luckily the guitarist didnt :-))

Gallien Krueger MB Fusion or Hartke LH500 heads Barefaced Big One cab Occasionally add a second cab (GK 212MBE until my second Barefaced turns up) but very rarely need to as its plenty loud enuff. Playing pubs and medium sized clubs mainly in a noisy rock covers band with 2 geetards.

Your Top 10 Favorite (not best) Bass Players
Mudpup replied to Chiliwailer's topic in General Discussion
Glenn Hughes Eddie Jackson Stuart Zender Sting (Police era) John Taylor John Giblin Mike Inez Doug Pinnick Nick Beggs Cass Lewis Looking back thru my list, the common theme seems to be that most have a very recognisible and distinctive sound. Pretty varied bunch though.
