1. I have one of the Korean ones. Theyre nice bases but got outclassed with the Epiphone Classics (the set neck ones) and the Pro IV's. Sell for comparatively peanuts unfortunately
2. They are fantastic bases (Ive owned one) and the Duncan Designed pickups are ok but it seems "Rare" is the new "Lawsuit" on ebay..

4. ...and next we have "oops, I dropped my angle grinder on my cheap guitar, then accidently smeared it in Nutella and threw it into a cage full of Pygmy Yeti's - Ill sell it for £400"
5. "Why are you so good at being a bass combo Mr Hartke? W H Y ???" "I Don't know M'aam, I guess I was just designed that way..."
6. What's really amusing is that I suggested items underneath it actually shows a GENUINE '57 reissue... It looks like a nice bass, just not £1200 of nice.
7. Quite simple. Someone who's majority income is from playing. Nothing to do with ability or lack thereof. Semi pro would cover a lot of folks on here who have day jobs and covers/function bands.
8. REDUCED TO £100 in a "I Want this gone" style I recently bought a copy of Pro Tools 11 with an Avid MBox interface so this is now surplus to requirements. 8 tracks with 2 assignable inputs (both with Jack/XLR sockets and Switchable phantom power). Onboard effects and reverb, built in CD burner. Comes with original manual and PSU. Tascam blurb here: http://tascam.com/product/dp-02/ Open to trades/swaps
9.
Finally someone who knows what a ballache this finish was.
It was beautiful.. I just felt like every time it came out of the case it attained a dent and a scratch no matter how careful you were with it. Other than that it was a fantastic instrument - I believe if its the same as the ~P bass it will have the carbon fibre rods in the neck for stability. If I had the cash Id have it off you tommorow - its a lot of US bass for MIM money - just needs a hard refinish. Dont know if the fact they are Ash bodies has an impact on the dent resistance (No pun intended - i believe from memory they ARE Ash)
10. It's the same finish as the FSR P bass I had, and I sold it on as you only ave to breathe on it and it dents.
11. Yes I did, I passed on a message to Billy Apple regarding a custom pickguard I'd paid Howard to make in March (few days before he got ill).
12. Wondered if there was any update as to how Howard is?
13. Horrible thing. My first bass was a Vox White Shadow... It was followed by a Marlin Sidewinder which outclassed it.
14. I've never ad a problem with Schallers but I do have a good guitarist friend who "lost" his Les Paul during rehersal. The action of the two parts of the lock rubbing against each other had worn away the lip on the "button" that attackers to the body and the lip sheared off. Luckily there want much damage done. I always check mine.
15. The band have certainly had some quality bass players in their career.
16.
Wow - I didn't know that!! On his honeymoon as well, according to wikipedia The bassline on Come Up And See Me was one of the records I remember as really confirming me as a bassist because while everyone else would sing or whistle the vocal melody I was always the one dum-dum-dumming along to the bassline. I also seem to remember some mild controversy at the time about CR refusing to mime on TOTP, hence them making a point of introducing slight differences to the single's recording. I also remember using my reel-to-reel recorder to re-mix the song and re-insert previous sections after the dead stops in the song to create a 10 minute version fo the song to play along to. Happy days. With apologies for the intro (skip to 0:22) . . . .
Wasn't it George Ford (the guy in the video from TOTP) that played on "come up and see me" and the album it was taken from? George also passed away in I think 2007. Lincoln sounded like a top bloke, I bet lessons with him were brilliant! And I have to admit that "Come up and see me" had a major influence on me picking up a bass and learning.
17.
He's great! I'd have him in my band. He would need to get a decent haircut and some better clothes first though ;-)
Yep. Love a showboating drummer.
18. LOL! Wasn't really on the wife's list of priorities.
19. Anybody from this area recommend any decent shops? We own a caravan on the Seashore park, and are off down there on Saturday. I like to ave a mooch whilst I'm out and about.
