More screw holes than could possibly be needed. I dont know. Trying to resist having a punt..

I've always set up to the drummers right - Oddly enough Entwhistle and Jones always seemed to do this and it just feels "right". There is a theory in Classroom management that you sould always stand on you're "power-side" - have your dominant side facing slightly forward, so if you're right handed stand towards the right hand of the room so you're looking in at a slight arc. Does seem to help with the confidence - I did one gig at the Robin RnB in Stourbridge where I was on the left, and I felt hellishly uncomfortable for the whole gig - this was before I did all the classroom management rubbish. It also means I'm in a position to swipe the drummer or poke the singer in the back when they screw up....
The PF500 is a great sounding amp. Some have had problems with theirs, but I never encountered anything other than great tone with mine. Sounds great teamed with a Precision.
They do indeed. Also with a Thunderbird!! Can be a bit choosy with cabs - mine has gone into protect using a battered Ampeg 8x10 but works fine with the Portaflex cabinets and also a 450w Peavey 1x15 I put it through at rehersal.

Ended up with my white Bitsa through Ebay! Top bloke, paid in advance of collection. Got to meet his Mum too - what a lovelly woman!!

I still love my P's but the T-Birds just suit the covers band. Plan to use this as my main in there with the Thunderbird IV as a back-up

Also Comfortably Numb. Obvious I know, but hey.
If you're going to play one note, make it count, every bit of it. Another classic, this time from the 80s. And only 1 hand on the fingerboard.
+1 for cold sweat. Have to be really obvious and say "Stairway to Heaven", hits my spine and makes it shake.

Pulled the trigger on a slightly damaged Epiphone T-Bird Pro. Already have an Epiphone Thunderbird IV, but wanted one of these for ages.Got it for the bargain price of £199 from Andertons. The big chip om the body can only be seen from the back, and it sounds and feels gorgeous!

Plausible I suppose. We have 2 guitarists, and they take it in turns to do solo's, but work out parts on songs that were'nt specificaly written for two guitars so they are playing two complimentary parts. Maybe he was perfectly proficient but felt outclassed by your current guitarist.

Fender Precision USA - benchmark of current market

Fool and their money and all that. I think shoving a thumbrest in the oven would have the same effect. And these... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140749566013 I mean come on, $75 for a couple of strap buttons?? I'm sure our relicing nemesis's could recreate that with a bit of acid etch and a cheap chinese copy. I cant believe someone is buying up classic vintage instrumeents and parting them out. I CAN believe (going by the amount of "Reliced" rubbish on ebay) that people are capable of ageing parts. Maybe I should sell the bridge off my Jaqpcrap Precision (Which is very nice with early 60's style threaded saddles) as a Genuine 60's bridge in the states?! Not saying they arent what he claims, just pointing out they may not be, or could be from old junked Jap copies even. -
Dropped in to see Pete G (Gazm)'s band last night as he was in the area. I have now vowed never to play a wMC with the covers band. The guys put on a great show, but it was one of "those" gigs with a pretty indifferent audience (Split in half by an hour's bingo and Play Your cards Right..). Pete and the boys played a blinder despite the mostly apathetic response, great stage prescence, tight as a gnats bum. Just a pity about the bl**dy bingo and the audience. Sorry Pete, had to get my mate home after so didnt get to buy you that beer at the end.
Marshall Guv'nor Mk 1 Five or so hours to go and still a bargain: http://www.ebay.co.u...9#ht_500wt_1092 Time will tell if it remains so! I'd snap this up, but as usual, I'm skint until next Friday. As used by Gary Moore, et al apparently. Sounds the business with bass too, I've been told.
They do indead - I had one new back in the 90's

Should be easier to do with a Pro IV as it's through neck

I thinki I would rather buy a selection of JapCrap copies than pay HALF of what its going for. Maybe we're all wrong and someones been round to look and thought .. "ooh it IS a 62". I wouldnt chance it.

£820 I feel someone is going to get seriously stung.

I have both (PF210HE and PF115HE). Think its a matter of Horses for courses. Using both gives me the full output of the Amp (500w) and a nice mixture of punch and bottom end.

Just won this on Fleabay.. any idea's what it is? ***UPDATE FOR PICS***

Now wearing a nice set of Wizard Thumpers.. my god it sounds the dogs doodahs. Still none the wiser about origins. Wheres all the Japcrap experts when you need em... -

I play fingers. Have always done so. But I'm trying to "learn" pick - it's easier to play fingerstyle for me as I'm faster that way.

All of this begs the question. Does a bass player who does "Exactly what the song needs" classify as rubbish, and someone who needlesly "showboats" doesn't? So it could be claimed that Duck Dunn was rubbish? In my book someone who plays with feel and gets in what is needed (not what makes them look good) is the better bass player than someone like Sheehan or the countless people playing Slap on Youtube or in any given music shop across the country. Just my tuppence ha'peny
Like many people I started off with a cheap thing to practise on and when the finish started to wear thin I just got some cheap stuff to cover it with........ After I while though when I began to take life more seriously I had a proper refurb done Can you believe it's the same one? Anyway - nothing lasts forever so I got this last year First 'off white ' one I've ever had but I never liked it from day one. So - I just took delivery of a new chocolate leather 3 seater recliner - cost a fortune but it's ace. BTW - sorry about the silly basses getting in the way of the pics.
I WANT that Explorer... I so want it..! Can I play -

Caffe Americano in Swansea, Wales... terrible management :(
Nibody replied to BigBassBob's topic in General Discussion
Like many others I can see both points of view. I also in my day job work in what could be loosely considered a "Customer Service" environment (Education). I know it only takes one thing to set some people off, and the chances are your party of 16 were already aggrieved and looking for a fight finding themselves seated in a small space right up against the band, and it all whent downhill from there. Letters of complaint do tend to increase and exagerate the situation. Believe you and me I have been accused of all crimes bar piracy by Parents who have been agreived at something I had nothing to do with, nor any control over. Think both sides can learn a valuable lesson here. I would think myself as a punter would not like much more than an accoustic duo type arangement if I was sitting down to eat. I think the only time music and food mix well is in a dinner-dance situation where the band starts when the eating stops, or in an italian resteraunt (on one of my wedding aniversaries, at his resteraunt, had the pleasure of having Renato of "rene and Renato" fame sing to myself and the wife - pity he passed away and the restraunt changed hands). -
joinmyband.co.uk is pretty good and free.
