I always go for the "Desiderata" approach: Do not compare yourself to others, for there will always be greater and lesser people than yourself. I'm good at [i]what I can do.[/i] Class myself as intermediate. I auditioned for a covers band playing classic rock this week, who were in my humble opinion very good and very tight. Got the gig and was told afterwards they had decided on me after the first song. So intermediate, yeh. Those of you who [i]really [/i]know your way around the instrument, can sight read and improvise in virtualy any style I class as the "Experts". Just gives me more things to learn, Id hate to be at the top of the tree with nowhere to climb.

Bought Chris's EHX Neo Clone to satisfy my EHX addiction. Good comunication all the way, and blink and you'll miss it delivery. Paid Friday late morning (Site was down on Thursday night) and it arrived at my door Saturday morning. Pedal was boxed and in good nick. Recomended - honest bloke!

Me personaly, Im a man of my word. If I agree to buy something I buy it. Classic example with buying pedals - arranged to buy one I wanted, then saw the same pedal offered at Crack Converters for exactly half the amount. Did I pull out of the BC deal to buy the one in CC and save meself money? Nope. Bought the one from a BC'er because as far as I was concerned, I'd entered a verbal agreement with a fellow BC'er and my word is my bond. Simple as.

I'd love to try a DB. But I dont have the space, and I'm not good enough to play one!! - I take my hats off to all upright bass players, I may call myself a bass player but the upright guys are the "True" bass players IMHO.

well I had my first Audition in 10 years yesterday for a covers band. They play classic rock (Lizzy, Zep, Bad company etc etc) so I was torn as to which bass to take with me. Decided to chance it and take my recently re-acquired Epi Thunderbird (after it's "Holiday" with another BC'er!!), with a P as a backup depending on what sound they were after. Have to say it was the most fun I've had in ages, and the Thunderbird just felt and sounded "right". Needless to say the P didnt even leave the case. I have solidly loved Precisions most of my bass playing "career", and despite owning the Thunderbird for a good few years I never got on with it, to the degree that I sold it to Matt ("The Hand of John Curley"). Last night something just "clicked".

Mine works flawlessly with the two PF cabs but has had issues with an Ashdown 6x10 and an Ampeg 8x10. Have had this argument with good old Dino on Youtube.

I'll wait til they do a version based on an Ampeg 8x10...
