http://jackson.craig...2835203944.html This cant be for real can it.. lol
"Bass player available for PAYING GIGS ONLY. I play G, C, D. If your songs are not in G, please transpose them into G. If your song has an Em or Bm or anything off the wall I will probably sit out that chord. Or I could learn those notes for $30 each. If you want me to do fancy stuff like go back and forth between G and D while you hold a G chord, forget it because I'm a "pocket" player. Minimum $100 per gig within a 5 mile radius of 39202. $5 per mile travel charge for other areas out of town. Please make sure your gigs are on a JATRAN bus route, or you can pick me up at my place. Must be home by 11pm due to previous legal hassles. No gigs within 500 yards of schools, parks, or playgrounds."
If I had the cash I'd bid on it.

So.. i get back together with an old mate to play some covers. It doesnt work due to drummer issues. So I say "Why dont you get your old band back on the go". Turns out he was missing a bass player, and as i'd stopped playing at the time, didnt offer services. Well, the plan is shortly to get it back and going. They were doing relatively well and getting some good gigs so should be interesting if it does take off again. Soundcloud for the band here http://soundcloud.com/jericho-noise Just point out thats not me on the bass, and it will be louder in the mix if it takes off again with me on 4 string duties!! You're comments ladies and gentlemen as to the material?
The Wager stuff isnt anything to do with me. The guy who did my website (Alan) just put that stuff online to make sure the music player was working. Thanks for looking though!
I seem to recall one of them was a web designer.. that would explain it. The website and rebuild are coming together well. I would love to get in there! I'm afraid the best studio I was ever able to afford was Rhythm at Bidford on Avon when my old band recorded its two EP's - Paul Johnson I think owns/runs it/engineers. Not quite in the same league as yours though it was a nice studio in a nice location (Think he's just expanded it recently).
Thanks. Hadn't spotted that. The developer obviously is neither a drummer or a speller!
Just looked at the site, noticed the WageR tracks on it. My drummer mate used to be their drummer (Emmerson Todd). One of the first bands I had going had Wayne as singer (Turtle Beach.. and I seem to recall we fired him, unlike the quoute on their website.. lol!!) and Toddy as drummer. Was approached to join them a few years back but was in the middle of my break from playing and wasn't really interested. Have played with Emmerson on and off for 20 years.

Most godawful tuning you've been asked to play in
Nibody replied to Nibody's topic in General Discussion
This band was doing quite well, but lost the bass player and bottomed out for a while. Had a good following, some good high profile gigs. Crumbs I may have to get a 5 string... =/ -
Been asked to join a "Nu Metal" type band by a mate. They play in "C" tuning. Rubber band strings anyone ? Whats the most awkward/daft/unusual tuning you've had to play in?
I used to live in Nuneaton, which isn't far from Tamworth. I have to say, though, that I avoided the place like the plague. I hate the place and I've never met a polite person while there, ever. And there was a band from Tamworth that wanted to poach me from another band. At some point, while they were at my place, begging and pleading and then getting nasty, the singer stole my old Shure Microphone, because he didn't have one of his own!
Ah well, you see, I was born in ~Coventry - that makes all the difference!! Which band was it? I'm intrigued - most of the local ones I knew were knobs to say the least!! PM me!!
You as well?!? Is there anyone here that doesn't live in the Tamworth area? Probably the reason I've not noticed music shops over in Tamworth is that I don't stay long enough to wander about, I just go to specific places.
There's Crack Converters just down from the church Cash Creators (Which has a nice Pre-CBS Mustang bass in the window for £799 - is this a bargain?) In George Street near the Peel Statue and does a fair few instruments And Evans is the one near the Pizza place (PizzaHut delivery only)

My Frankensquier VM 70's Jazz - VM 70's Body, VM 77 neck courtesy of StevieD. Much prefer the White Pearl inlays to the black ones, and Stevie so wanted a Geddy Lee Alike...
-
Swapped my VM 70's Jazz Neck for Steve's VM '77 Jazz neck. Took us a while to get sorted, mostly my fault! But swap happily done and well chuffed. Steve is a good honest bloke - man of his word!
Where abouts is that? I'm over in Tamworth quite often and haven't spotted it either! I'm lucky enough to have a good relationship with a shop in Ibstock (I live in the next village), not a huge range of bass product but they'll always get stuff in and do their best to match internet prices.
It used to be an oldfashioned "junk shop". Evans Music I think its called. You cut through the car park opposite the Assembly Rooms and turn left. opens funny days (closed Mondays and Wednesdays I think) http://www.evansmusic.co.uk/ website. My two guitarists are from vaguely up your way - ones from Measham, other lives in Overseal but was Measham originally.

To add to the death of the music shop, I recently discovered that a small one had opened up in Tamworth a few years ago, I just hadn't realised it was there. So instead of my usual perusal of Crack converters and Cash Creators, thought I'd have a nose. So we have a fairly nice Westfield B1000 P-Copy... for £183!!!! Same one you can get from Fleabay for £99, and the same one I picked up out of Crack converters for £40 s/h. There were a couple of other no name basses in there for similairly inflated amounts. Now for a budget bass the Westfields are pretty good... but £183 ?? Most expensive I've seen online is £140

Jealous, they are my sort of 70's Rock!! Good luck with the gig mate!! -
Seriously though mate, you ot are tighter than a pair of Wranglers Stretch-fits. Very pro sounding, without coming across as a naff function band. Very impressed.

I'm in Tamworth mate, when I'm next in town will poke my head in the local Cash Creators and Cash Converters and see whats what.

Had varied experiences. In the past I've used studios that had reasonable gear (Robannas in Brum being one, used to be able to get a nice Trace rig or HH though some of the stuff was a bit ropey). The one Im using at the moment is powered the other way - I have an Ashdown Evo II at my disposal, kicking out 350w wheras the house guitar amps are a trace Tramp and a small marshall combo (which means the two guitarists end up lugging their ENG and 5150 rigs up three flights of stairs!!) Got to look at it this way - not everyone is as experienced with equipment and it only takes a few "kiddy" bands turning everything up to 11 for gear to get wrecked, so its unlikely any rehersal studio will invest in real quality gear. I accept whatever is available rather than lugging my Ampeg out, though obviously the dream would be a lock-up wqhere we could leave all our own gear and use that.
