1. Selling my Shure Beta27a microphone pair. They are complete with mounts and large padded Shure cases (bigger and with extra padding than the normal Shure pencil case style) in good condition. They are side address supercardioid which is quite unusual and very useful. These are great mics as overheads, on cabs, or for percussion or vocals. They are great in the studio but are really tough so are popular live too for cabs and overheads. Great on bass cabs too! Only selling as I'm using my 414's mostly now for stuff where I want LDC's and fancy some nice SDC's instead. Shure blurb: WHAT IS THE BETA 27 BEST SUITED TO? The Beta 27 is ideal for a wide variety of acoustic, wind and electric instruments, such as guitar and bass amplifiers, drum, percussion and piano. The tight supercardioid polar pattern ensures high gain-before-feedback and provides maximum isolation from other sound sources making it perfect for live stage applications. HOW DOES IT SOUND? The Beta 27 is tailored for superior transient response from a low-mass, externally-biased ultra-thin Mylar diaphragm. It has a flat, neutral frequency response for natural reproduction. WHAT ARE THE MAIN FEATURES? The Beta 27 uses premium electronic components and gold-plated internal and external connectors. It includes a 3-position switchable low-frequency filter which helps reduce unwanted background noise or counteract the proximity effect and the -15 db switchable attenuator handles extremely high SPLs with ease. The internal pop filter with three separate mesh layers reduces wind and breath noise WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE BETA 27 AND SM27? The Beta 27 is a supercardioid whereas the SM27 is a cardioid. You can expect a more concise sound pickup and a full bodied sound signature with the Beta 27.

Flat Frequency response and low self noise for natural reproduction
Supercardioid polar pattern for high gain-before-feedback and minimizes bleed from off axis sound sources
Tailored for superior transient response
Low mass, externally-biased, ultra-thin 24 karat gold-layered Mylar diaphragm
3 position switchable low-frequency filter
-15dB switchable attenuator
Internal pop filter with three separate mesh layers
Actual pictures to come. £500 or trade for nice pair of SDC's (KM184s/C42s/SM81s etc) PRICE DROP TO £450 / OFFERS ANOTHER PRICE DROP TO £425/TRADES

 8. Hi all, anyone know of any rooms with a piano in I can record in for 5-7 days towards the end of Sept? Anywhere near Bristol or London doable. Don't need any other gear in there other than power. The better sounding the room and piano the better but will consider anything at this stage. Does need to be a quiet room though.
 9. Haha, was originally asking to see if you'd be interested in trading for my 69/70 SVT but I think I've changed my mind now I'm afraid. Would have wanted quite a bit of cash on top anyway to be honest.
 10. What are you replacing it with out of interest?
 11. So I'm off on tour tomorrow with my heavy instrumental psych/prog band ANTA. We are touring with our excellent friends Pigshackle too. ANTA & Pigshackle UK double-header tour Coming to : Bristol, Cardiff, Liverpool, Leeds, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Manchester, Bath, Croydon, London & Nottingham ---ANTA--- Playing material from their new record, 'Centurionaut', an album with all the fat trimmed, not a second is wasted in its 40 tight, punchy minutes. All of the band's hallmarks are present: kinetic, inventive drum work, guttural, throat-rattling bass, beautifully intertwined synth and organ lines and filthy, driving guitar. This time round though, the immediacy and urgency in the songs' execution leaves you short of breath. A heavy band for whom considered songwriting and catchy hooks are as important as bruising riffs, in 'Centurionaut' ANTA have produced the most convincing demonstration of their vision so far. http://www.anta.org.uk/ "Nimble guitar and keyboard riffs, spiralling rhythmic tricks and generous gong strikes, with a terra bound emphasis on metallic muscle...hugely impressive" - Rock-A-Rolla "Bristol quartet Anta arrive like a steamtrain dragging a sledgehammer through your speakers as the sludgy, meaty, abattoir-esque riffs burst into life and pierce your brain" - Echoes And Dust ---Pigshackle--- Pigshackle is a four stage experimental Alchemic process disguised as a child's Victorian parlour game. A laboratory of fizzing oxides and bubbling mercury colliding with the nostalgic melancholy of an oak-whittled rocking horse. A vision of the future seen through John Dee's eyes where the unravelling secrets of nature taunt the minds of men. The merging of solar and lunar, the shaping of the elements and the taming of man and beast. A dance ignorant of conventional forms and performed in the golden ballrooms of the Celestion. It is your hopes and dreams turned to coal, the wrenching of your soul from its physical bondage and the carving of your granite sarcophagi. Rejoice, pilgrim, your journey is nearly at its end.
