1. Or, if you want to spend money then something like the Boss EQ-20 programmable EQ would work.
2. Bought this the other week and love it to bits, listen to it loads.
3. Hmmmmm.... wouldn't mind a third GS412
4.
nice still in the process of getting clips done should be sometime next week if it goes to plan
Sod it, if you bung in a tenner I'll just go for it.
5. Will now sell for £50 inc postage. The last one with the same chip in on Ebay went for £56 + £6.50 postage.
6. Can't really afford to buy anything right now unless I sell my Rat but am really interested in how that harmonic percolator sounds.
7. [sobbing]
8. Interested in a trade for a vintage Proco Rat 2 plus cash?
9.
are you playing one on "monk minus"? it sounds quite good there -- i probably just fail at using one well
Yea, thats my favourite one for the metal pick stuff. Just need to practice up and down strokes really.
10. Going by the condition and shade of the maple neck I'd say it was early 80's/late 70's. Very interesting, haven't seen many double cut basses like that. The bridge and headstock smacks of Gibson, the tuners look Japcrap though to me. Probably some Jap copy of something or other thats been refinished.
11. Ooh, have been keenly looking at their stuff recently. Very interested.
12. So, is the wireless included then? Might help to clarify that and what model it is etc.
13.
trade for a ampeg scrambler clone? that has ALOT of octave up.
Ooh yea that could be exactly what I'm after. Got and more info or clips? Who's it made by?
14. Bought this RAT off Bassmankev a few months ago and am not really using it at the moment as I have another. It's in pretty much perfect condition and has the sought after chip in it. Interested in trades for other distortion/fuzz boxes particularly octave up fuzzes. May be after something that has a gate in it. Otherwise, £50 inc postage. Heres Kev's original thread which has a bit more info on it: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=10729&hl=
15. Argh, you have awesome taste in basses Steve. Have always wanted an all black Rik. Mate of mine is trying to get me to trade the 450b for his black 4003 at the moment. So torn.
16. Fair enough, understand why they're not everyones cup of tea. I don't use them for everything, do a fair bit of finger style but they're great for a bit of bite on some songs.
17. I use a metal pick quite a lot. I use bronzed aluminium Dunlop Teckpicks. I love them to bits and never have any problems with broken strings or scratches and I play quite aggressively. Depends on the player and technique though I guess. Think all the live recordings of my old band were done with a metal pick, listen here if you like: http://www.myspace.com/vilna
18. Gorgeous bass. Would go wonderfully with my chocolate brown Sabre. Shame I'm broke.
19. The seller mentions Rickenbacker in the listing though so surely it won't hang around long before it's removed.
20. Or would it be fx return to input?
21. Hmm, and it doesn't get enough grit even with it in the passive input with the gain up full? I haven't tried them either but a few friends of mine have and really rave about it. http://www.zvex.com/hardon.html
22.
The problem is that even if i put the gain to maximum i still don't get the drive i want - it just changes the sound: i get more punch If i put the gain to max. should i get drive even if i don't turn the master very loud?
Depends how loud your bass is and how hard you play. Have you actually looked into the Zvex SHO as mentioned earlier? I have also heard really good things about it for exactly this use.
23. The Laney I think is a Klipp 4x12. It has the original Goodmans speakers in it. The Fender has piggy-back attachments on top, tilt back legs and the grill cloth has gone sort of brown. Presume it's pre-silverface period but it's not tweed.
