Korg DT10 or Peterson Strobostomp are surely worth a try.

I have a PS-5 which I quite like. For bass I usually only use the -1 octave and 'trem arm' settings though. Love the trem arm going down an octave right at the end of a song on the last distorted and sustaining note. I wish it could track lower though. It doesn't usually go much further down than A. I realise you shouldn't really need it when playing that low but a few songs with my band start high then rapidly alternate between high and low strings. It sounds awesome when I'm playing high strings but when I'm down low it sounds messy due to wobbly tracking. Also there is a very slight cut out I think when you step on it so quickly jumping on and off it in the middle of sections doesn't work too well. Considering getting an EBS octave just for the octaves and keeping the PS-5 for the trem but it seems a bit much.

Hi, Anyone know where I can get bridge and pickup covers for a P. Preferably from the same place or together as a kit not an Ebay auction. Any ideas? Doesn't matter if it's not a Fender as the bass isn't. Cheap as possible. Thanks, Joe

I have exactly the same issues/concerns with my 1200s which I think has the same preamp. Do occasionally drive mine very hards when I've got my noisest fx on full.

I think the only thing the RC20XL has over the Digitech is the reverse feature which is quite cool. The DD-20 does also do looping. Plus points: Stereo Headphone socket Has lots of cool delays as well Bad points: You have to hold down a pedal to overdub No undo Limited recording time I'd love a Jam-man but I can't afford one at the moment although my girlfriend has one so I have used it a fair bit. The only reason I use the DD-20 really is because for what I use it for I need stereo. What I really need is one of these: Now that's a looper.

Just tech'ed for Isis tonight. The bassist had a DB750 with a DB810 and it sounded stunning. Really awesome. He was using a 2eq Stingray through a Fulltone Bass Drive. Gorgeous.

I have a problem with my pickups being too loud and them clipping the front end of some pedals. Could this solve this problem? It's really noticeable when I play hard and it sounds really bad. My bass sometimes clips the front end of my amp too even with the gain all the way down and the pad on. My Ovation bass has an 18v preamp which is probably the problem. Don't have the same issues with my EMG loaded P-Bass.

For the heavy tones that could be described as synthy I use the Marshall Guvnor, EQ, PS-5 set an octave down and the Alesis Bitrman. The silver box centre front is a double fx loop (left channel distortion, octave, eq etc and the right channel modulation and stuff) and the one to the left is another loop with a volume for the Bitrman as it isn't designed to be used as a pedal.

I like a fairly scooped sound with a huge balsy low end and crisp highs around 2/3k and this is exactly what I could get from the SVT. I've heard that the new ones are completely different though. I found the DB750 quite muddy with my bass and the EQ didn't work at the frequencies I would have wanted. I should reiterate though that I didn't have long to play with it.

The signal chain has changed again since that pic was taken. I can't remember exactly off hand but there are a couple of feedback loops and stuff.

I recognise that Micorkorg. How are you finding it?

This is my present board. Changes pretty often though. Love it to bits. Can get really really filthy and can make some very weird noises too.

The SVT isn't mine but the rest is the same. I use a Sunn 1200s with Korg DTR1000 but i don't have a pic of that at the moment. Edit: Sorry about the crap, blurry phone pic, don't have a camera.

I did a radio session in France recently where the station was hiring in the backline and I asked for a DB750 and a GS412 cabinet (which I have at home anyway and love to bits). I really wanted to like it but couldn't get on with it at all. I couldn't get anything resembling my sound out of the EQ which I found a bit uncomprehensive although I am used to a graphic. I didn't have long to play with it as I was in a rush and ended up using an early 70's SVT (now in my avatar) which they just had lying around. Best tone I'd ever had with that and the GS412 though.

Yea, the Digitech Jam Man is way better than the RC20 XL though I reckon. Check one out.
