Toby is the grandson of John Diggins, aka Jaydee Guitars. You're in good hands.

I'm givng it a listen now. Sounds reallly good!

Ah, I was indeed looking at the Pulse XL 10.20 on the Lean Audio site. Maybe the ".17" code is just for Orange's 32 Ohm speakers? I'd assume you wouldn't mix up the ranges to include both neo and ferrite in the one range. The backs of the neo speakers tend to have the fins on them as opposed to the big back you can see in the annnouncement video too. Considering the 71.6kg weight of the 810, that also supports the ferrite theory. https://orangeamps.com/products/bass-guitar-speaker-enclosures/obc-series/obc810c/
-
Doesn't look like it. 4kg for a Pulse 10" speaker versus 1.5 for an equivalent neo one also from Celestion.

Agreed! Glad I've just got my Digbeth.
-
No, why would you want that 🙄 I guess you can stick a DI box on the slave out?
-
Yeah, new output transformer to support low lows better, bias pots for the tubes and a clean switch for hot signals. https://orangeamps.com/products/bass-guitar-amps/bass-valve-systems/ad200/

Just saw this pop up on Instagram and it was counting down. Looks like a new bass amp to me 👀

We're playing at Gryphest! Our first gig at The Gryphon in Bristol, which is a must play for most metal bands. We're starting proceedings on the Saturday (21st) for Godless Suns, Battalions and Witchsorrow. We've also been asked if we want to play at New Year's there, which could be fun!

I've been nipping off to have a cheeky play every now and again. It definitley seems like it's going to deliver for me. I'm loving it. It feels really nice to play and use. The switches have a nice click, the pots turn smoothly and all of the EQ and tilt controls have a centre detent. The headphone out is excellent. At 7kg it's still lightweight compared to my ABM-600, but it's not as light as it could be if it didn't have the wooden case. I like the aesthetic though. It looks like a classic amp. Laney chose the visual appeal over it being the lightest thing and I'm pleased they did.

Just had a quick blast after doing the nursery run and before starting work. The lack of a master volume is stupid. I just tried running it with the effects loop and it means that I have to use the volume of the final pedal (my GX-100) as the the master volume for the whole thing. Not very convenient. However, I do think that I might prefer going straight into the front of it with the channels blended. Wasn't expecting that. I really like it. I think it might be just what I was hoping it would be! Need to try it at band practice next week to confirm though.

First reaction is it's really nice and might be perfect for my current needs. I still need to try it plugged into a cab and with my pedalboard, but straight in and through the headphones I'm very impressed. The "valve" channel is lovely and squashy. The clean sounds the same as the valve, but clean. You can make it sound really dark but there's a lot of clarity which I think will work well in the band. I'll be able to give it a bit of a blast at home tomorrow as everyone else will be out. It would also look so cool in purple tolex, grey piping and a matching grill cloth to my cab. Might need to see if Zilla will swap my badge to black and silver...

So, I ordered on Thursday lunchtime, it wasn't dispatched until last thing Friday, so I've had to wait. It's finally out for delivery now! Not scheduled to arrive till between 3 and 4 though - I'll be twitchy all day!
-
I heard one through an 810 without PA support at a gig I was playing. Certainly filled the room very nicely even if it did look a bit ridiculous on top of the cab!
-
How would this do you? It doesn't have the exact Fender headstock outline, but looks pretty decent to me. https://northwestguitars.co.uk/collections/jazz-bass-necks/products/4-string-jazz-bass-compatible-neck-jb04

@dazza b I'll be sure to update the thread. It is ordered, didn't dispatch today unfortunately. Looks like it might be a Monday delivery which is annoying. I had hoped I could order it in time for band practice on Sunday. Perhaps wishful thinking on my part.

My wife is ok with the idea on the proviso that I only keep the one I want. Hopefully, it'll be new amp day tomorrow...

It doesn't look overly neat when it's off the wall. That's my only real criticism. It certainly seems to do the job! The only other one I'm sure would work is these, where it just hangs from the strap buttons: https://woodieshanger.com/shop/woodies-hanger-for-fender-style-guitars/

Yep, mystery solved I reckon! Thanks!

I saw the bassist of Bossk with an unusual looking bass. Can't see any mention of it online or on socials and he only used a p bass live, it seemed to be for backup only. Anyone know what it is?
-
I did see that. Mentioned it to my wife. She said I should be telling the seller it's too cheap, not trying to buy it at that price. I disagreed. I have not managed to persuade her!

Warning.... Kappalite 3015 NOT designed for Bass!

You jest, but my guitarist had a cab made specifically by Zilla just to fit the boot of his impractical Mercedes. -
Highlights for me were Bicurious, Conan, And So I Watch You From Afar, Explosions in the Sky, Sans Froid, Haal, The Omnific, Meshuggah (really surprised I enjoyed it, I don't like their recorded stuff, but about an hour was enough for me before it became super samey), Anta, Fort, Bossk, Electric Wizard, Mogwai. SO. MANY. HIGHLIGHTS! Loved it. Even got a lift home from my drummer who came for Saturday evening, so I've had a shower, slept in my own bed, a really long bath, and put all my camping stuff away. Also bumped into a former band mate who I haven't seen in ages, and we just had loads of catch up time, which was lovely.

Sorry mate, the intermittent access to the internet meant I didn't see this.
